Central, staff friendly and helpful. Thee was a mix up about our booking for afternoon tea however this was resolved very quickly

First room they gave us was like a dungeon, dank, dark and smelly. Nothing like the one shown in the photos that I thought we had booked. However when I complained they gave us the room we had booked. But we wouldn’t have stayed if they hadn’t. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time this has happened when booking through your site, when you arrive, they try to palm you off with a room that isn’t nice-they would never put up a photo of because nobody would book it.

Great sized king room well furnished and very comfortable. Hotel exceptionally clean and housekeeping kept room spotless all week. All staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely selection for breakfast. Mollies Bistro on site served lovely meals which was ideal. Great location close to Union Sq and train station with buses to Uni at top of road etc.

The rooms were a little dated and hotel could do with a coat of paint but the cleanliness and friendly staff out weighed this. Thursday night was a little noisy outside as a couple of bars on the street but this stopped soon after pubs shut so overall not to bad.

The Douglas Hotel is situated in a great spot for touring Aberdeen, A ten minute walk from Union square ( if you travel by bus or train ) Great for Museum's , Shops and Movie houses. Mollys and Malones Irish bar adjoin the Hotel so you do not have to go far for food and drink, There is an excellent Chinese Resturant just round the corner, but it is best to book. The room itself was adequate and clean, perhaps the addition of some biscuits with the complimentary tea would be good but we cannot really complain as the room rate per night was good. Breakfast was adequate (buffet at the weekend) covered most tastes! Check out at the weekend is1200hrs so no need to rush.

The Hotel was a bit noisy at night with guests coming back from their night out, perhaps missing fire seals would make a difference

I actually had A BATH!! Staff had to move my room when I arrived because they had put me in a room with a shower although I had booked a room which was advertised as having a bath AND requested one. However when I asked at the desk they were able to find one with a bath for me which made a huge difference to my stay. Staff were excellent, position of hotel was excellent, being just round the corner from train station. Room was clean and warm enough (not roasting thank god)

Having to go ask for the bath..though it was dealt with efficiently and professionally. I had requested it through the booking.com app when I booked..and again on their digital check in system. The bed was softer than I like, and the base drifted away from the headboard in the night meaning I kept losing my pillows down the back of the bed. The bath was a very small size..just long enough for my to sit up in and cover my legs..which was fine as that's all I needed it to do..however someone who might need it for back issues would have struggled.

Clean and spacious room and breakfast was good

Room was too hot even with the radiators turned off and windows open.

The hotel offers apartment options in very close proximity to their main building. The communal areas were great and the apartment was vary spacious and very clean. Despite overlooking a busy street and Aberdeen harbour, the place was quite and had good ambience.

Despite the countless switches in the room, 2/3 of the lights were working. Room needs a bit more lightning. Breakfast was very good with Scottish options, but it would benefit from a great variety of non fried options (a little more continental). Checking-in at the main hotel building and then moving over to my apartment over a cobble street in the rain was not the most convenient process.

We had a wonderful stay at the Douglas while attending a function. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room we booked was large and although in the centre of the city was quiet. The bed was comfortable though the bathoom could do with an upgrade as the door was very stiff. Shower was hot and good flow. Breakfast was basic but good the next morning. We parked at the NCP just up the road and got a special rate as we were staying in the hotel. The function room was lovely and there is a very busy pub at the hotel though we were not disturbed by any noise from it. Meal at the function was lovely.

Bathroom door stiff.

Excellent location, city centre. Restaurant on site and of course Malones Bar - brilliant entertainment - great couple of nights there - really made our short trip!

Room a little compact, bed was too hard for me but that's just my preference. Room quite dusty. Room service called too early (9.30am) my fault for not putting out a do not disturb sign but as we were only staying for 2 nights we were okay not to have cleaned, it would be more practical to clean rooms/change towels etc at lunchtime/early afternoon for people staying 2+ nights.

The manager and staff are trying really hard to make the hotel a success. A couple of small changes and this hotel would be amazing. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and there was enough space.

We did not have breakfast as you were not able to provide a vegan choose. My wife walks with a stick and was unable to use the hand rail almost every time as the smokers on the front step wouldn’t move when we asked. The smokers were also a bit off putting for the image of the hotel. Maybe a smoking area could be arranged.

My fiancé is an amputee and only has one leg. All the staff on shift when we arrived were very friendly and accommodating. They made sure we were comfortable enough to ask if we had any issues or if my partner struggled with anything in any way. All the girls were lovely. The location is excellent for going in to the town and 5 minutes from the bus station. The hotel allowed us to leave our bag before/after check in so we didn’t have to carry it around town while we waited on the bus. The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
