Friendly staff team, nice beer garden, Breakfast- great choice and freshly cooked, nice coffee Had one evening meal in the restaurant, again cooked to perfection. Lovely big room, fan provided which was handy as the sun was shining 😎

I have a small assistance dog and understand the hotel is not normally dog friendly. I found it embarrassing on the second morning at breakfast when the male staff member serving us repeatedly told me’dogs are not allowed’ After explaining I had permission and had stayed for two nights and was due to check out, he said ‘for future reference dogs can’t stay here’ I didn’t want to explain my situation in front of other guests/ members of the public.

Original old pub and hotel with popular restaurant Regency59 offering both Welsh dishes and Nepalese food. Our room was accessible through the pub and up a flight of stairs which can be a challenge with heavy luggage as there is no lift. Our bags were taken up for us and we managed to drag them down. I am sure if we had asked we would have received help. The staff were all friendly and went out of their way to make the start to our holiday special. They went above and beyond when I dropped my credit card wallet in the taxi they had organised to take us to the station for the next phase of our trip. Unable to contact us by phone they sent a message through booking.com alerting us and we were able to get back to Abergavenny and the driver from Terry’s Taxis met us at the station three hours later and kindly returned the wallet all safe and sound. The hotel is so handy to all the places of interest in Abergavenny, next door to the the old markets which operate four days a week and lots of coffee shops and restaurants to meet all needs. Loved exploring the winding streets and capturing wonderful streetscapes. Don’t miss St Mary’s Priory Church and the Tithe Barn next door with it’s wonderful tapestry made by the local community depicting a 1000years of Abergavenny history.

No lift for this elderly traveller but it would ruin the charm of hotel - so just be aware.

Fab location right where I needed it. Comfy bed, spacious room I booked a year ahead as a double but by time I arrived for my stay it had been converted to a superior single but still had more than enough space for 2 people. Lovely and clean, toiletries provided Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Friday night on the high street meant lots of noise from drinkers (loud music and singing mostly) until the pub closed so disturbed sleep when I had to be up at 4am but that's more a me problem than a normal person problem! Noise was all done before midnight An old building meant floors are uneven which could be a problem for some No real complaints!

A very comfortable room with everything I needed. Excellent choice at breakfast. The location is brilliant for exploring the town. I was really impressed by the helpfulness of ALL the staff who were very friendly and happy to assist me.

The toilets in the bar were not very nice and outside the back wall was rubbish and discarded trolleys, It was very hot and I couldn't open my window. The TV was on a large unit which made it difficult to get to the window side of the bed and difficult to see the TV. The shower doors would not close properly. I found the hotel expensive but no different from other accommodation in the area.

- Loved the centre of town location with its own friendly pub, along with plenty of other bars and restaurants to choose from from - Excellent breakfast, wide menu choice and all perfectly freshly cooked - Excellent service from all the staff and would happily stay again

- No car park and the on street parking was very limited (by time and availability), not helped by them having build outside seating huts on their spaces but town centre car park fairly near. - Nice bedroom but the en-suite was a bit tired.

Easy to find, superb location, right next door to the local market (four days a week) Breakfast was extremely good with a choice of cereals, fruit and main course. The Indian restaurant where breakfast was served, also served first class meals at a good price in the evenings. Good internet connection and the best choice of channels on a hotel TV I have seen in a long time.

No local parking, five days parking cost additional £18.00 about five minutes walk away, but a constant worry regarding security. Our first night in the room was cold as the radiator had been turned off, and not back on before we occupied the room, and it was an extremely cold night -7c. Once warm - excellent.

Lovely little hotel in the middle of the town. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast menu and the lady on that morning was lovely! Room not overly big but had everything we needed for our nights stay. Lovely and quiet. Restaurant was closed but they suggested a few places and we had a cracking Italian meal just 5 mins walk from the hotel. Would definitely use again. No parking on site but a car park at rear which you do have to pay for.

location was good but be warned you cannot get into the street outside the hotel with your car between the hours of 10am - 4pm as it is closed to traffic. you can drive out between those times if you are inside the closed off street but not back in until 4pm. I am disabled and had no warning of this so had to hang around waiting until 4pm until my wife could bring our stuff in with the help of the staff. it worked out ok in the end because there is a disabled bay immediately opposite the hotel so I was able to park without restrictions as long as I liked with a blue badge.

nothing the breakfasts were nice although my wife said she had egg shell in her eggs twice that was a shame as they not bad otherwise!

In an excellent location, the room was very clean. The downstairs pub was nice and welcoming. The 2pm check was really good as most hotels are a lot later. We attended a wedding at a venue across the road so was in a great location for us, after the wedding we headed back to the hotel and in the downstairs pub there was a singer and a great atmosphere to end the night.

The only thing we were disappointed in was the pub had stopped serving food after check in which was 3pm so pretty early for a Saturday afternoon, but its so central it wasn't an issue as there's a weatherspoons down the street.

Excellent service from staff. We were planning to leave quite early in the morning and realised we were not going to be able to partake in the breakfast option included in the price. The staff member checking us in very kindly packed some food items for us so we would have something to eat upon leaving in the morning. This was unexpected but a very kind gesture and showed how accommodating the staff who worked there are.

Nothing to say here.
