The hotel was kept to a high standard, and the bar area was nice and had a good selection of drinks and food. A good addition was the pool table and an outside area. The room was of a good size, and the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well.

The outdoor seating did not have any cushions or seat pads, and the outdoor sofa's you could not use as none of them had anything on them. The breakfast was really poor, unfortunately, and not what I would expect. The coffee tasted salty no matter what option you chose. The selection of breakfast was not good, and the sausages were of poor quality and greasy. Bacon was like cardboard, the scrambled egg was dry, and there was not enough selection. I could make recommendations, but you need to get the basics right first!!

I loved the location & the view from my room. The guys at the reception were very helpful & nice. David at the reception was able to accommodate me for 2 more days. Very nice & a kind person to deal with. The other guy was excellent too.

I had to extend 2 more days. When I asked yhe morning lady at the reception for extending my stay for 2 more days she didn't bother to check availability but told me to find accommodation somewhere else. She said the entire hotel is full & there is not a single room I can stay in. Ofcourse unbelievable.I was dissapointed & her customer service skills are very poor.

Hotel is lovely, staff extremely friendly and helpful especially Beck on reception who upgraded us (but not mentioning because of that she made you feel very welcome on arrival!) Eric the bartender was amazing nothing was too much bother, we were looking for a nice Chinese Restaurant and asked if he could recommend one, he gave us a choice of two nearby, we went with The New Dancing Dragon in Abingdon, it was so good, lovely food, and ambiance, and would highly recommend it. To be honest all the staff at The Courtyard are great, Marriott should be very proud of the great team they have there! Also loved the free tea/coffee which is a nice touch.

A little confusion about room allocation. Was given keycard for 510 but it didn't work. Happily, housekeeper let me into the room So I could leave luggage as I had an appointment in 30 minutes Back at Reception they said, "oh yes, we've moved you to 514...! Said I would have to move my things later as I had put stuff in fridge. Later changed rooms only to discover there was no fridge in 514. Reception did provide one but it had to sit on the floor rather than hidden in cupboard. Also, the 'Welcome" on TV screen addressed me with an oriental name.

Good sized room bed comfy and very clean everything we needed in the room including flannels in the bathroom especially if you forget your own. (we didnt on this occasion but have done in the past) Breakfast is extra at £10 per person but is all you can eat and a great variety of foods on offer to cater for all tastes from full english to continental. As we were out we did not use the restaurant. We did not use the fitness room but although small it had enough equipment to keep people busy and again was lovely and clean. There is a snooker/pool table in the lounge also which seemed to attract kids rather than adults. Staff were all professional, friendly and very well attired and groomed.

During breakfast being stared at by refugees/migrants which the hotel are currently housing was uncomfortable and unnecessary.

Clean room, great for an overnight stop after coming back to Portsmouth from France, breaks up the journey back to Scotland perfectly. Breakfast is good. Staff on the desk have always been fantastic (even when extremely busy). Easy access on & off the motorway with a service station on site.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times now and it has always been busy but that's to be expected given the location. Service at the bar has not been great but maybe just a new colleague still learning.

The room was quiet and comfortable so it was easy to settle in and rest. I had a good night's sleep and there was a choice of places to eat in the locale. The hotel was very easy to get to and was very conveniently located for my purposes. I would definitely overnight there again.

I found the signage on how to use the lifts with my key card confusing/non-existent and another guest had to show me how to use the lift. You could not access the stairs so the only way to reach the rooms was to take the lift, which is not very healthy or environmentally friendly.

Friendly welcome and well appointed rooms. Lobby area is airy with lots of places to work, eat, drink and relax with colleagues or friends. The hotel is well located with restaurants a short walk away (as well as its own restaurant). Rooms are generously sized.

The shower was poor with only a light drizzle of water (poor pressure?) Temperature controls for the room were confusing and the HVAC system took an age to get the room from very cool to slightly warmer. Heavy (and now slightly tatty) furniture gets in the way and adds nothing to the room. Bedside light was broken. All of these are minor items but the standard expected for a Marriot hotel is higher.

Russell was fantastic and helped my dad who is disabled. He ensured we all got to our rooms with all of our wedding luggage. Lovely hotel and great facilities

Zoe on reception at checkout seemed to think we owed money and despite showing her the booking confirmation she still was insistent. Made a great stay a little less than perfect. She did not listen and seemed to think we were wrong. Not a great checkout experience. But check in eith Joe was fantastic. Tip was added to bar bill but not told a out this.

Clean hotel with extraordinairly pleasant staff. Both the evening service as well as breakfast. In particular, breakfast host Kamila took a good care of us and made sure that we could still choose from all the breakfast options. Rooms are quiet and clean.

Instead of getting a queen size bed, we've got two beds joined together. Wasn't horrible but could have been better. Hotel is located right next to a motorway exit, which is a curse and a blessing - convenient for commuting with a car, not much to do otherwise.
