Have stayed here before , (and had led a number of training sessions here on behalf of Oxfordshire LA in the past) , and enjoyed the ambience / grounds etc... A very good breakfast with plenty of choices , and a clean and well furnished room .
Would really like to stay in somewhere other than the garden wing - whilst the rooms are fine from the interior , it was a trek to get to it from reception after a very long drive down from the north , and the building looks very 'down at heal ' from the exterior.

Hotel is quite laege and rambling but all rooms are big and comfy. There is a decent sized swimming pool and the breakfast is excellent. When we were there there were several Christmas parties on and in the morning the reastaurant was completely full. So the staff opened the doors to the next room and laid more tables to make sure everyone had a seat. Few hotels would make the effort.
When the hotel is full, you may have trouble finding a space to park near your room. But there will be spaces and you can use any entrance to enter the hotel - just make sure you have a map so you dont get lost!

Breakfast was more than adequate. The setting was lovely, as was the main house and the cottages looked charming. Sadly my room was in a soulless cinderblock addition, though comfortable and clean. Clearly, this property needs some care and attention - loose brickwork and pavers throughout the pergola area were outright dangerous. Woodwork around doors and windows in chipped, scrappy condition in high use areas. The pond was in dire need of cleaning as well. Staff were polite and professional and service was good. The superb location is what recommends this property.

Breakfast was amazing, loads of really delicious food and choice, couldn't have been happier about the selection and standard of the food, really good for the cost as well. Room was very peaceful and comfortable, we had a brilliant nights sleep. The pool was excellent, staff really friendly and helpful, the site was lovely, the staff were super helpful and happy to sort out any issues and they were really kind and met all of our needs.
I had to send my dinner back, it was pork belly and the rind was super chewy. The waitress got me a different meal very quick. I had a toddler with me so it's a bit like everything is on a time limit with a little one. They did meet the time limit fine but I just felt a bit stressed that they might not. And saying all that they were very cool about me being in the restaurant with a lively little one.

I enjoyed using the jacuzzi and sauna/steam room. The bar is great with nice seating and a library. The bar terrace is fab with lots of seats and cushions overlooking a the vast estate greenery and we could spotted cows gazing from there. Super polite and accommodating receptionists Nice Italian garden right next to our building with some egg chair swings Homemade pizzas were delicious! The staff were so nice and helpful! Shoutout to the receptionist guy who greeted us on Friday and the bar lady who opened it at noon on Sunday who was so brilliant and thoughtful with helping us order food. Thank you!
I couldn’t use the jacuzzi and sauna one morning because of no water in the jacuzzi and no head in the sauna. There wasn’t anyone to speak to about this. We had to put out a sign if we wanted our room tidied. TV in the room was very basic, I was hoping to watch the Olympics on demand but the TV was too old for that.

All the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the facilities excellent. Easy to park close to our room. Lifts available as well as stairs. Well ventilated everywhere.
The bed was a bit a bit too firm for me. I have a back issue and normally sleep on a less hard bed. We were in the annexe concrete block and could hear everything going on in the other rooms. Bathroom sounds, TV sounds and people just walking around. No car charging points. Restaurant menu a bit limited for choice. Wine bottle opened before it was brought to us.

Liked the location, as very close for the event we were going to Steventon Hall. The look of the hotel both exterior and interior is very impressive with lots of green space outside. Lovely amount of rooms available downstairs to meet fellow guests. The decor and the comfort of the furniture was great and liked the many outside areas we could use with tables and seating. The bedrooms themselves were a good size with comfortable bed, and nice that you can open the windows.
There were a few areas of the hotel that looked like they needed some TLC. Cobwebs above the bar area. Big patches hole in the ceiling also there. The outside of the 70’s style building, could do with painting to smarten it up. Breakfast, though nice choice of dishes, would have liked individual yogurts, rather than a bowl of. The scrambled eggs were a very dark yellow, which looked odd but maybe there local eggs? Dinner was great but the focaccia was extremely salty and over baked.

My two friends and I stayed last year. We live relatively close by, but wanted some 'chill-out and chat time' so booked again for one night (three rooms) this year. The rooms were great, close together and with showers. Very clean and tidy. Love the chic elegance and calming atmosphere of the house. It lends itself as an ideal base to re-charge your batteries. We also like that there is a variety of parking spaces and a pool. The staff are always really kind and helpful.
Unfortunately, we arrived for our 7.30pm dinner booking amid a private party, a large group booking and an almost full restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for our starters to arrive. The standard of attention to detail (dry burger) wasn't quite as high as last year. A friend would have like to use the hot tub, but it was out of order.

Atmosphere, seating areas, nice and quiet, sun trap, bunny rabbits. Receptionist got me a fruit juice when bar wasn’t open. Relaxing. Nice other guests. Leisure area and gym were really good apart from some dumbbells would have been good and toilet was out of order on the sat and sun and sauna out of order on the Sunday
Key cards didn’t work when we got to the room on check in. No apology at reception. Not much hanging space in room for clothes. Room could have been a bit bigger for price paid. Italian garden needed litter picking. Rubbish in gullies and pond. Housekeeping lacks attention to detail.

We stayed here on a half board deal via booking.com for our silver wedding anniversary and we were very impressed. We were given an upgraded room in the manor house - a junior suite which was excellent, a large room with bay windows overlooking the fields and beyond, large seating area, large bathroom, bathrobes. We were welcomed by Isabelle on the desk who was excellent, very friendly and welcoming, in fact all the staff were. The food was delicious and lots of healthy choices too (I'm following Zoe and found there were high scoring options). The grounds are nice to walk around and it was peaceful at night. The pool and steam room was great too. Everything was very clean and the manor house is really lovely, very historic (ask at reception and they'll show you a large book with all the history) and had a beautiful smell. I nearly forgot to say they'd also decorated our room with petals on the bed and swans towels, gave us a card and cake treats, very thoughtful. Our stay was perfect and I would highly recommend.
Unfortunately they were out of trout, but hey ho a minor point
