Staff incredible - especially Paris at the front desk and the gent (i think manager but could be wrong). Me and my dog were made to feel so comfortable at Biggin Hall from the minute we walked in, we both felt spoilt rotten with a little bottle of prosecco in the fridge on arrival, a sausage from the kitchen for my pup before we left for a day of hiking. The daily packed lunch is such an incredibly helpful and unexpected treat for days out walking in the peaks. The food is incredibly good quality, fantastic breakfast and evening meals. Grounds are stunning, room fantastically clean. So many little touches that made it such a comfortable, welcoming and luxurious stay, despite my mucky boots! I loved it so much i added on an extra night. I will absolutely be back.

Nothing. It was everything i could have hoped for as a first time solo traveller. Thank you.

The breakfast was very good indeed - both the food and the service - always a sign of a good hotel. The restaurant dinner menu exceeded our expectations, with every course hitting the mark. Including a packed lunch with the B&B offering was a welcome treat - such a useful (and tasty) option to have when exploring the local area.

We couldn't fault our rooms in terms of comfort - they were spacious, clean, had very comfortable beds and weren't stuffy and over-heated (like so many other hotel rooms). The only negative was the decor seemed a little tired and design details could have been a bit more considered, eg. lighting, art.

The location is beautiful, the old Tudor house and its garden are exceptional. The lounge is well furnished and comfortable with books and maps. The restaurant out of the ordinary, quite gourmet. The packed lunches were an extra treat and very convenient. Fridge in the room with fresh milk.

Small details - the staff were generally pleasant and helpful, but some very unsmiling. Although breakfast was excellent, the coffee was bog standard. I would have liked a softer bed, and the strong smell of air freshener in the room bothered me a bit but I was able to stop that.

The hotel staff were very welcoming I had booked the wrong dates and they changed them with no fuss. There were lovely touches like welcoming drink and water in the fridge and complementary lunch box supplied for the next day. The location is delightful and the breakfast and evening meal were excellent. There is easy access to high peak/ Tissington trail just down the road.

I have difficulty in finding anything I did not like, I stayed in a small converted cottage in the grounds which had a perfectly adequate shower but not what you would expect in a modern hotel is my only picky criticism but the view over the fields more than made up for it.

Superb location and a beautiful, old central building with later additions. Staff were lovey and nice little free extras such as drinks provided. Hotel generally very comfortable and the restaurant was top notch...food was really good.

Our room was ok. However, there were only roof windows, the view from which included the outlet from the kitchen extract fan. The room was situated over the laundry. There was noise for both of these and I suspect heat from the laundry, which wasn't a problem for us, but could of been had the weather been warmer. We had our dog with us and may have been given an inferior room because of that, not sure.

Wonderful location and the Hall is steeped in history. So clean, comfortable and cosy and has all the mod cons in a 17th century building. All staff are very attentive, polite and helpful; especially as my husband is gluten free and he never felt like he missed out. We booked to have dinner and oh my it was absolutely amazing - exceeded our expectations. The complimentary packed lunch the following day was the icing on the cake. We always make a point of not visiting anywhere twice as we like to experience new places etc. however, we will definitely be returning!! Wonderful stay, thank you

Spot on location for me, quiet but close to walking centre of Hartington. Comfortable bed! Surprising how often this isn't the case. Charming cottage room. Cosy open fire in old part of main building.

Very small bathroom with only a slow trickle of a shower over the bath. Not adequate for two people. Given the above, expensive! Although charming, the cottage was in some need of maintenance and redecoration. Adequate but slow Wi-Fi.

Very good welcome on arrival. Comfy room with outside access ideal for staying with dogs. Beautiful location. Tea making facilities and drinks replenished each day. Complimentary drinks in the fridge and packed lunches provided. Evening meals and breakfasts very good. Gluten free options available. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.

It was great nothing to complain about. The only comment is that dogs are made welcome but it would be good if there was a small area where they could eat with you. Mine were fine in the car but I couldn't leave them in the car if it was hot. I did see someone with a dog in a greenhouse.

The breakfast was quite nice - fresh fruits, yogurts, juices, and a small selection of hot foods as well. The room was very clean and spacious, with a spotless bathroom. The setting is lovely - rural and peaceful with a number of good walks within a short distance of the village. The staff were friendly and cheerful and very accommodating of my late arrival.

I arrived late at night, so I didn't have time to air out the room before I needed to sleep. It was stuffy and hot. I was offered a fan but it never arrived. I opened all the windows, which helped cool it after about 40 minutes but I had to wait for it to cool before I could sleep comfortably, which meant staying awake later than I would have liked.

Dinner was excellent - good flavours and very good value for money Nice wine list Breakfast was good quality. Portions were small. Lovely airy spacious room despite being in the eaves Good quality mattress and bed linen Superb gardens out side the restaurant, lovely place to relax with a glass of wine Incredibly peaceful place to be Random pub at the bottom of the drive if one fancies a change of scene

Prefacing this with we are DEFINITELY going back Service needs a little work - it wasnt bad it was just uncoordinated Value for Money - I think it may be that i booked last minute - accomodation price seemed a little high Spongey Pillows! Stair carpet in the rear part of the main house needs attention
