The situation was very beautiful, historic architecture, very comfortable and well maintained. A mature garden, easily accessable for guests. Breakfast was by self service in our room; delicious pastry, tea/coffee, milk, yoghurt, fruits, juices, breakfast bars to suit our appetite.

The only problem we had was with the lighting in the bathroom. To switch it on meant to also start a very noisy ventilation system. With no access to a window, we had to use the bathroom in some darkness, keeping the door open...

- Great location for visiting the Hook Norton brewery. - All staff were fantastic. Friendly, great customer service and couldn't do enough for us. - Room and provided refreshments were excellent. Continental breakfast in the room (croissants and milk available downstairs) and great coffee. - Cooked breakfast was great. - Dinner was above expectations, good value and good food. There are other options a short drive away too if you're keen to branch out.

- Yes, it is a bit noisy up in the rooms, but this is made extremely clear at all points through the booking and checking in process. It's a great pub in a small village, so there are people there, music playing and a good atmosphere. It wasn't even that bad to be fair, I still managed to get to sleep with no issues both nights.

The breakfast was fabulous and was varied, not just a full english. Also the continental bits in the room were a lovely addition. The location was perfect, a quiet village but close enough to the tourist places we wanted to go (Diddly Squat Farm, Bourton on the water within 30 min drive).

We arrived at 7pm on a very busy Friday night and the bar was full, it was hard to see/tell where to go as an overnight guest. We were blocking the bar with our bags until a member of staff approached us.

Location of pub was very convenient for our Christmas stay with relations. Also the fact that our dog was also welcome was an essential factor in booking. Breakfast on Boxing Day morning was very nice indeed - full english included in room price.

Bit of a mis-communication regarding 'checking-in' on Christmas day - were told had to check in between 11am-12noon which was fine, but then advised we couldn't access room till 3pm - not the end of the world, just not made that clear in advance. Was a bit surprised to see black mould on the ceiling of our ensuite - the ensuite was clean so a shame this hadn't been dealt with. The fact that the 'continental' breakfast has to be eaten in your room on week day mornings is a bit disappointing especially as there wasn't enough room in our room (4) for both of us to be able to sit at a table. Would be nicer if you could sit in the restaurant/pub and eat it there.

We only stayed for 1 night on our way back home. The room was very comfortable overlooking the front. It was a nice evening, and people drinking at the front up to 11pm then all was very quiet. So, no problems. We enjoyed our continental breakfast. The fresh milk was a nice change to UHT. Had dinner wonderful. All in all a good night and would certainly return.

Didn't know about the car park at rear,a mention on the website would be good if the front was full.

The room was at the front of the pub and had a view of the church which was very picturesque There was a lovely touch in the bathroom with the complimentary toiletries. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was very good. The breakfast options were good as well and were available to help yourself. Loved the outside patio where we sat and had breakfast . It's nice having check out at 11am so you don't feel rushed. Such a lovely relaxing stay.

Rooms were a good size, en-suites were very good & well stocked with toiletries & towels. Rooms well stocked with complimentary food & drink items although not sure the dry cereals were necessary. Food was very good with enough choice. staff very friendly

Quite noisy/creaky but to be expected in an old building. Didn’t realise the church clock bell would go off quite so often as it did until midnight & again early morning. No hairdryer in room & unable to use ironing board as legs broken. Need net curtains or different blinds in front bedrooms as no privacy from people sitting outside but too dark to not have Roman blind open

Excellent location for our trip. Friendly cosy pub in the centre of the village. Rooms were decorated nicely, beds were comfortable, good shower with shampoo, shower gel etc, good selection of tea, coffee, and breakfast items available in rooms with fresh milk, fruit, yoghurts etc available in a residents fridge downstairs which you could help yourself to.

Would be nice to have the option of a cooked breakfast on week days not just weekends

Beautiful village, beautiful hostelry , brilliant staff.Great beer and good food 😋

We might be being a bit picky but the only thing we didn't like was there wasn't a fan available or aircon ,either would have been welcome on a hot and stuffy night as only 2 small windows could be opened, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. Difficult nights sleep unfortunately.
