The location was ideal we were a little out of town but that suited us. Plenty of parking. The room was well equipped bed was comfy and maid service was very good. Aircon unit was great on very hot days Breakfast was amazing continental and cooked- also order for porridge or omelette was excellent. Staff were all excellent -attentive and helpful. They were welcoming friendly and happy to give useful info about the area and directions when asked for. We had planned to eat out and try other restaurants but the menu selections and food was delicious and very good value so we ate in the hotel for the 10nights. Can't fault the service in any areas reception, bar and particularly the dining room. Anya and her team including Teagan and Adam were brilliant. I used the outside pool virtually daily as we were blessed with good weather and it was lovely and warm. My partner said the gym too was good and he used it quite a few times. Had the weather been worse I think we would have used indoor facilities more.

Only one very small issue- our en suite bathroom had clearly had the door rehung in the opposite direction and the previous doorstop was left in the middle of the floor. We both banged our toes on it a few times but covered it up and learned to avoid it 😄

The breakfast was exceptional. Both buffet and menu options, continental and hot cooked breakfast. The pools were a little smaller than the photos represented, but was perfectly ok for a quick swim. Although there were quite a few times when it was overcrowded...but at this time of year I suppose that was to be expected, as it is also open to outside members. Our room on the ground floor faced the outside pool and garden. It felt a little dated on the outside, as the rooms were chalet style, but the room itself was modern and very clean, if a little snug. The shower was powerful and hot. The hotel location is not quite central, (about 20-25mins walk).

The pools was overcrowded but maybe it was just the time of year.

From the minute we arrived every member of staff we met were very helpful. We’d been given an upstairs room but with a pushchair and my husbands poorly knee we were offered a room downstairs. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, my daughter and I used the indoor pool and it was so warm it was like being in a bath. The food in the restaurant was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we had a few drinks in the bar area which was very relaxing. Would highly recommend staying here.

Easy to check in. Well equipped gym, all equipment in good condition. Fantastic breakfast, very polite, efficient and uniformed staff throughout - particularly the restaurant and bar. - decent bar snacks too. What I noticed about the restaurant was linen napkins, which shows good effort and is classy - nothing worse than paper ones. Also, as I left I noticed a florist changing all of the fresh flowers dotted about the place - another good effort. I will be returning.

Although they have decorated the place, some of the bedroom windows need replacing as they are a little tired. The wifi was rubbish - at least it was for me. finally the TV in the room did not have a signal - not that I watch much TV but when I wanted to catch up on the news I had to rely on my phone as the TV could not get a signal.

Good facilities, rooms were clean. The Wi-Fi was very good. Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Staff in the restaurant were very good.

The room was very cold, when I arrived. There wasn’t any central heating, but was an electric heater on the wall, the dial was broken, I had this on for the whole stay and it kept me warm, can’t be economical! The TV was quite old and not what I would have expected, it was too small for the size of the room. As I was on business the desk provided was quite small. The food in the Restaurant was quite pricey for what I have paid elsewhere.

There wasn’t a lot wrong at all. We did have an issue in the evening where my 72 year father wanted to sit in the bar to finish watch the football and we were asked to leave because we were part of the wedding party and not residents… we were residents and it was only two of us who were sat quietly watching the football that only had 45 mins to go.. slight dampener on what else would have been 10/10.

The hotel met expectations and the staff were very pleasant throughout the stay. The fitness facilities were good and we used both indoor and outdoor pools which were great to have especially as the weather was terrible.

The hotel itself was very good. The location was near an industrial estate which had some sort of fish processing factory. Sometimes the smell would be very unpleasant, especially in the room and around the outside pool.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barnstaple hotel. The decor was nice, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. We really liked the pool - the temperature was spot on. It was so good that you could easily forget you were in Barnstaple, and we were allowed to use the pool again after our checkout time. We will definitely stay there again 👍

The only thing we didn't like was the positioning of the toilet roll holder, but in the grand scheme of things am I really going to mark a hotel down over a toilet roll? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Great clean hotel with a swimming pool indoor and outdoor and a lovely restaurant. Kids eat free with adults and get free ice creams and drinks. Right next to a bowling alley and a roller disco and arcade with a cool Airsoft firing range too. Close to town too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cannot fault this Hotel at all.

The saunas are in the changing rooms so men and women have someorate sauna so couldn't go in as a couple.

issue on arrival. booked via booking.com for 1 night stay including breakfast to be told that there were problems with bookings as breakfast not included despite on website price being exactly same as that paid. eventually receptionist agreed to include breakfast as this was what was booked.
