Completely exceeded our expectations. Firstly Paul is a great host and warmly welcomed us and armed us with lots of useful information about the local area. The room was lovely, full of character but with all the mod cons. Comfortable bedding, big fluffy towels and a powerful shower. Superb breakfast cooked to order - high quality ingredients and excellent service. We booked last minute and had expected somewhere simple just to stay for one night and ended up having a really lovely night away. Would definitely stay again if looking for somewhere in the area.
The hotel doesn’t have parking but you can park on the street . You do need to wait until 4 though as it is restricted to 1 hour until 5pm.

Visiting a relative in hospital. The hotel was in a great location. Walking distance to the hospital, and walking distance to the town. The room was a great size with an ensuite. The breakfast is done by order and the food is freshly cooked, therefore hot when you eat it. The host was great and very helpful. Thank you.
Nothing... Only thing I would have changed was we had no bathroom lock, and the door kept opening a jar whilst using the bathroom. This is not a big thing and did not ruin our stay, but would have been nice to be able to lock the door as sharing the room with my brother.

The Yeo Dale Hotel, a charming family-owned establishment situated in the heart of Barnstaple, Devon, offers a cosy and traditional atmosphere within a townhouse setting. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant stay. The single room I reserved was located on the top floor of the hotel, providing a compact yet comfortable space with a cosy bed for a good night's rest. While the car park is on the smaller side, I was able to find a spot. However, clearer signposting to the car park would enhance the overall guest experience and make parking more convenient. Guests can enjoy a delicious and freshly cooked breakfast at the hotel, setting a positive start to the day. Overall, my experience at the Yeo Dale Hotel was enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to book a stay here again when visiting Barnstaple.

I stayed at the Yeo Dale Hotel for several nights while I was in Barnstaple during a family member’s hospital stay. The location was extremely convenient — both for access to the main downtown area of Barnstaple and also for access to North Devon District Hospital nearby. I stayed in two different single rooms, and although quite small, they were plenty large enough for my needs, and both were extremely cozy, clean, and comfortable. The owners were very flexible, and I was enormously grateful for their kindness and responsiveness. There was off-street parking available across the road for my rental car. The wifi worked flawlessly, and the amenities were everything that I needed.

Personal service with delightful hosts. The hotel (built 1803) is comfortable and cozy. Lots of ideas for local activities. A lovely market town. Breakfast was a standout - with home-made jams and servings of cooked items made fresh to order. The attic rooms are quaint, but perfectly fit-for-purpose.
All was well.

Interior of the hotel was really nice with original features. I was expecting a place to be on the shabby chic side with less of the chic it wasn't. The property is clearly very well looked after & spotlessly clean. I was up in the attic, which didn't bother me at all & to be fair, I was advised before arrival about how many steps it was up to the room, which I think will be appreciated by others less mobile.
Parking was limited to but I am fussy when it comes to things like that. I managed to park pretty much right outside the hotel in a residential area so no real worries but if there isn't room in the car park provided, you may need to park a little further away. No big deal but worth a mention.

Breakfasts were excellent. Staff were lovely and always very polite and helpful and put themselves out for our requests.
Parking was very limited but sufficient for our needs on this occasion. Although we felt we could not use the car as we may not have been able to have the space on our return. I have difficulty walking any distance and needed to go to the hairdressers, the florists and for a meal. Would have liked blinds as well as curtains in our room as it was in full view from the street and the curtains were very difficult to open and close

Fully aware the location was coming out of season for summer holiday goers I was hoping this would be a nice quiet spot for me to work, The owners were superb, the location was quiet and perfect for my needs. There are activities for family such as arcade, tennis, etc, but the spot was nice and quiet and the chalet occupiers were very friendly. For a chalet it was warmer than I expected for October, and I will consider this location in future for my business development.
I cannot think of anything negative.

Check-in was very quick, we were able to access our room before the regular time. We were allocated room 4 on the first floor which overlooked the garden at the rear of the property, although this is not what we originally booked, the room was lovely and spacious. We were offered a room change but decided to stay put. Room was very quiet and comfortable and more than met our expectations. It had 2 arm chairs, large kingsize bed, wardrobe and TV. Ensuite shower room. Beautiful bay sash window. Breakfast is lovely, cooked fresh each morning. We opted for the full English which consisted of sausage, bacon, mushrooms, black pudding, tomato and your choice of eggs - we opted for poached which were lovely. Optional extras (at no additional cost) were beans, hashbrowns and fried bread plus your choice of toast. There was orange and apple juice available plus a varied selection of breakfast cereals, fruit and yoghurts. Easter Sunday we even had a mini Lindt chocolate bunnie waiting for us in the breakfast room. Location was good for us, just a short walk into the town centre. There is a garage opposite which has a shop that is open 24hrs. We used the hotel as a base to explore North Devon and parts of Cornwall. We visited Ilfracombe, Tentagel Castle and Bude. Weather was lovely for our Easter Break stay. We stayed Saturday 8th to Monday 10th April (Easter) If we decide to visit this part of the world again we would definitely stay at the Yeo Dale Hotel, the owners are lovely.

I live 4 hours drive away and had go to Devon for a family funeral. I was greeted by a lovely helpful man that told me where I could park and he booked me in. My room was at the very top of the house so he too my suitcase up for me. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. My breakfast was bought to my room both mornings. Great place to stay and it made my sad time much easier .
