I had a wonderful stay at Audleys Wood Hotel. The hotel is stunning, set in a calm and beautiful location with a charming, historic house that exudes warmth and elegance. The attention to detail really stood out—cozy blankets for outdoor seating, games to enjoy, and thoughtful touches like dog treats, water bowls, and even dog beds for our furry friends. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. It’s a perfect place for a peaceful getaway, and I can’t wait to return

We felt pampered, welcomed and the courtesy of the staff is exceptional. The king bed was beautifully comfy and the space in our room (Exec Dble) was great - plenty of room for our two bags .. and yet could still sit in the two comfortably sit with space around in the two chairs when making our plans. The restaurant incl the wine list offered great choices and our thanks to Sebastian and all his staff for their attentions. We used Basingstoke as a hub for both Oxford and Bath.

If I have to pick something, and because we like to have fresh air and because our room faced the road .. there was the constant, distant hum from A339.. but it was distant.

We arrived to great customer service and a crisp clean room and bath. The receptionist went out of her way to meet our needs and bring us champagne glasses and ice bucket to help celebrate my husband's birthday. The dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious. We loved the beautiful grounds and exquisite wooden decor and seating areas in the common areas. Every part of this hotel was quality and class. We appreciated the easy to plug in outlets by the bed and a mirror for makeup....it was the little things and quality and style of this place and its staff that made our stay just wonderful.

Refrigerator did not work, but they quickly tried to address this.

The bed was very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. The view out to the garden was very relaxing, and beautifully lit at night. The cute squirrels playing in the garden and the birds were an added bonus. Dinner was fabulous and the green apple bavarois dessert was delicious! There was a wedding while I was there and I heard absolutely nothing so this was fantastic

Parking was a bit of a trek with suitcases from the overflow parking (there was a wedding), although you can bring your car around to the front (this was packed when I arrived due to the wedding)

Pretty setting, helpful friendly staff, clean, there were two doors between the bedroom to the hall as made it so much quieter. Room service was nice & very handy considering I was recovering from an operation, the fridge was also great as we could have fresh milk. Beautiful breakfast room/conservatory & delightful breakfast. They also provided hot chocolate in the tea tray which was nice as my boyfriend doesn’t like tea or coffee but likes hot chocolate. The personal touch is nice.

Some of the finishes were not that great, mainly siliconing near the bathtub but otherwise no dislikes at all.

Everything was amazing. We received a friendly welcome. Both our 4 year old daughter and our 3 month old puppy were catered for and they had a great experience. The hotel has lots of character and the grounds are gorgeous. We arrived at dinner time so we sat outside and had a lovely meal. We then relaxed whilst our daughter and puppy ran around the large open space. All the staff were very accommodating and the service wasn’t affected by the wedding that was on whilst we visited. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden area and a clean bathroom. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and my milk intolerance wasn’t an issue.

There was nothing to fault. All our needs were catered for and we will definitely return.

There is nothing not to love about this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms and hotel itself are lovely, the food was a high standard and we especially loved how welcoming the staff were to us and our dog - all exceptional. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a dog friendly hotel to stay here.

£20 additional charge for a dog to stay - although they had nice dog additions to the room. Without this additional charge I would consider the room good value for money, a few hotel chains have stopped doing this additional charge and it certainly sways my decision making when deciding where to stay.

It was a great venue to meet up with old friends. All the staff were really helpful, it was clean and comfortable. Loved sitting in the sun outside and lovely old wood panelled walls and stone buildings. Complementary water in the room's mini bar and a small bottle of milk rather than small capsules of UHT. A good choice of in-room complementary snacks. There was a nice walk we could do nearby.

Felt they could have had some cheaper wine on the menu. Although the wine we had and the food in the restaurant was all delicious.

We had room service on the first night and the food was piping hot when it arrived and very tasty. Second night we ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and the waiting staff attentive (just enough and not overly so).

At breakfast on the second day I asked for an omelet but really received a flat pan fried scrambled egg folded into a triangle - rather than the French omelet I was expecting. It was tasty but not what I asked for but did not speak up as I did not want to cause a fuss it.

Welcome, room, bar and dining excellent. Staff were warm, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Nothing was too much trouble. The grounds were well kept and inviting. Very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again.

TV in communal area wasn't in the best place ie - directly above a dining table for 2 next to a doorway. It was Eurovision night so some guests did want to get together near the bar to watch the show but it would have been very unsociable in what was meant to be a social area.
