this was our second time visiting the Gainsborough and we will sure be back!

the only gripe we had was the times in which we could use the spa facilities. paying so much for one night to not be able to use the spa when we like was annoying! the times we could 7-9 felt silly as that’s when most people go out for dinner!

The whole experience was excellent. From the lovely room, to the very capable barman Miguel, to the young concierge who went and got us two bottles of water, unrequested, even 6 hours after we checked out! We stayed en-route back from N Devon after long costal walks and had booked the Thermae baths next door. If you are planning the same, don't. Book the spa here. It is seriously better, less crowded and the facilities are ten times better.

Period property, big tall rooms. Great decor. Lovely breakfast.

We were restricted to using the pool and leisure facilities to certain hours. Early morning or night. As a paying guest in an executive room in a 5 star hotel we should have access to the pool at any time it suits us not 8am or at night.

great location , such a beautiful hotel , the spa village is very lovely . superb staff

you could only use the spa at certain times ,7-9 in the morn and in the evening !as a guest staying there this is ludicrous , this needs to change ! Also the restaurant was closed when we were there due to kitchen maintenance . we didn't know that prior .

location was perfect right in the centre of Bath. Room was a little cold on the first night as heating was set on too cool for the weather conditions outside but was rectified with an additional heater on night 2. Furniture and beds of very high standard. Could do with an additional chest of drawers as nowhere to store small items of clothing. No USB plug sockets which is quite unusual but we had adapter plugs so not a problem. No parking at the hotel so we had to park off site in a public car park but understandable once you see the location. The hotel restaurant was closed for evening meals which we understood was because of staffing with Covid infections but so many good restaurants in Bath to choose from. Breakfast was perfect, everything you could have asked for. The thermal spa area is the best part of the hotel and worth the stay just to use this on a daily basis. The additional massage treatments we booked were expensive but excellent and made our stay very enjoyable. Staff are all super friendly and very professional.

In normal times dinner on night 1 in the hotel would have been nice. Room could have been more cosy if heating set higher as rooms are not double glazed. Would have been nice to not have to book a time slot for the spa area but understand restrictions on numbers.

We booked a spa room and it was so private with full access till 9pm to the spa. It was worthy the extra money we felt completely secluded and it was so peaceful. The spa is amazing and was wonderful to use especially during the times when it was only for spa room residents. The check in was so welcoming and the staff were so brilliant at being there but being discreet. It was a completely wonderful weekend. The hotel left wine in the room for my birthday it was a lovely surprise.

The only thing that disappointed us was that for the amount we paid for the spa room £990 for 2 nights the hotel wanted an additional £60 per couple per night for breakfast. We felt that with a room for this price it should have been included in our stay. We also felt the £38 for parking for 24 hours was a high .

Very comfy bed, and well equipped bedroom. The hotel is in a superb location for central Bath, but also very quiet. The spa facilities are fantastic, and I used them twice a day, always very clean. The staff without exception were lovely, and cheerful - seemed to genuinely love their jobs which made for a great atmosphere.

My only tiny gripe was the price of breakfast, as I don't eat meat or eggs. So £25 for a practically vegan continental was an awful lot. It is £30 if you want a cooked breakfast and in some ways this might have represented better value. I stayed four nights and went out for breakfast for three mornings, there are plenty of lovely coffee shops to choose from.

We stayed in the Town House which was a unique experience, set in the centre of the City right next to the Roman Baths. The accommodation meant we could celebrate as a family, with our own space, but with the use of the facilities in the main hotel. Breakfast at the Hotel was superb which catered for dietary requirements. Staff were excellent both in the restaurant and main reception. The spa facilities were a treat and finding that the Town House had complimentary access all day was a bonus. Access from the train station is easy and a few minutes walk.

This was not a problem for our group, but the Town House has a lot of stairs (which added to its character but would be a problem for people with access issues). Parking is difficult and expensive in Bath.

very lovely, welcoming staff, very helpful with recommendations. The thermal baths were lovely and simple. I can actually say that a knee injury I had actually felt better.

For a thermal baths, I am not sure why there is no information anywhere on the composition and potential benefits of these waters. In other natural thermal baths I have been to in Germany and Eastern Europe, there is a lot of education, even technical information, as to what these thermal waters offer. (Note: I am happy for this information to he caveated to mitigate pedantics from challenging the supposed health properties).

The service was good in the breakfast room and the choices were sufficient. The location of the hotel is perfect. Very convenient to the Main Street and very close to all tourist attractions . The hotel also offers access to the hot springs via an amazing spa in the hotel. After a busy day sightseeing to be able to immerse myself in the hot pool was amazing. So many positives about staying at tge Gainsborough Bath Spa. A big Thank you to the staff for their professional and prompt service when I needed anything. There were two consierges that were very helpful one gentleman that I didn’t get the name of that organised my transfer from the hotel and Nichola the young Italian man that was very helpful and professional.

The room service menu lacked choice. I’m not sure whether their restaurant was closed however there was no lunch or dinner served in the dining room. However Bath does have many restaurants and cafes to choose from and the staff were happy to point me in the right direction with their recommendations.
