Rooms were good for the style of hotel. We were made very welcome. Breakfast was hot and well cooked thank you. The hotel was very well located and we would readily stay here again. Staff very helpful.

We weren't aware that we needed to ask for things to be done eg empty waste baskets in the room or ask for fresh fruit for breakfast as none was available on the breakfast buffet. Some staff had difficulty in understanding English. Although majoring on a 'shabby chic' approach as a hotel style, I think the place could do with a fresh coat of paint!

The Abbey Hotel is a well-preserved comfortable Victorian hotel, which fits the antique neighborhood, and is walking distance to Bath visitor attractions and the train station. Our room was immaculately clean, with a good king sized bed. All the electrical and plumbing facilities are upgraded to provide excellent utility. A large bright bathroom with roomy shower, nice Terry bathrobes and slippers, and a heated towel rack were pleasant surprises. And they provided washcloths, which our other hotels in the UK did not. Breakfast was also excellent - best coffee I had in two weeks. Altogether an excellent place to stay, and I would recommend it for anyone visiting Bath.

We had a 'Twin room' (mother + daughter) it was beyond expectations! Fresh, modern, outstandingly clean, proper coffee machine, dressing gowns + slippers, toiletries - our room had everything (Hair dryer + iron & board) flat screen TV - all was gorgeous. We arrived by train and the walk was just 5 mins from station, so location was perfect also.

There was nothing we didn't like. We arrived far too early and they even took care of our bags (securely!) Plus they answered any queries prior to our stay and sent further emails informing us of parking and asking if we had any request prior to our stay. 10/10 even before we got there!

The hotel is centrally located close to the Abbey, Shopping Centre and all the main points of interest in this wonderful city. Our room was "as described" at booking, bright and with a nice outlook. It was clean on arrival and maintained that way throughout our stay. We did experience a problem with the heating system that rendered our room too cool for comfort in the evening and again in the morning for the first two days. At this point I have to say a heartfelt thank you for the dedication and determination of Ruby, the Front Office Manager who took personal responsibility to ensure adequate warmth was returned to our room by seeking out a free standing heater, installing and programming it herself late into the evening in the absence of any available maintenance staff. Refreshing to see such commitment above and beyond the call of duty!

Location and look of the hotel was great, it was brilliant for my hen do.

Considering the price of the hotel the beds were awful. We bought two 4 person rooms and one was considerably smaller than the other, even though we paid the same price. The sofa beds were atrocious, you felt every lump on the bed, it squeaked every time the bed moved and you weren't even lying straight ! Also the pillows were all very flat. As is it was a hen weekend and we were all trying to stick to our bookings we did not have time to speak to the hotel about this. But half of us have been left with back ache.

The location was very central. The Hotel reception staff were very welcoming and Customer Service was excellent. The room was lovely, spacious, and comfortable queen size bed and was suited on the ground floor. The menu for breakfast had excellent choices and everything was cooked fresh, really enjoyed the food.

It wasn't a dislike - We asked reception if they were able to supply a Slip-Mat to use inside the Bath/shower, unfortunately, I think they misunderstood our request and gave us a bath mat for the bathroom floor. It didn't spoil our stay at the hotel as everything else met our expectations. Maybe they could consider this option for future guests.

We were initially disappointed to find we had been allocated a tiny, very basic room, overlooking the external extractors. Not at all as expected having viewed the pictures! A swift quiet word with reception brought apologies, and although unable to move us immediately, we were moved next day to an excellent room with which we were very happy. Hiccups happen, it's how they are dealt with that matters. So, happy to say we had a wonderful stay and were very pleased with the hotel.

The breakfast was very good, by you had to schedule your time ahead and times I needed were booked. I ended up paying for 2 breakfasts I didn't eat.

I paid for a better room, but the moved me to a smaller room because the TV didn't work. I did not received compensation for a smaller room or the 2 breakfasts

Property was very clean and well presented, rooms were nicely decorated and had everything you could possibly need. Staff were all amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast both mornings was fantastic and the menu for dinner was brilliant. Our room was cosy, warm and incredibly comfortable. Will be staying again for sure!

The Art bar is an amazing looking area, comfortable and bar staff were lovely. However, £15.20 for a double vodka and lemonade (the cheapest vodka option as well) is obscene. During our stay we didn’t see anyone use the bar aside from a few people who didn’t stay for more than one drink which is a shame. With drink prices as high as they are it’s no wonder it’s so quiet. Made me very hesitant to use the bar again. But could not fault the staff or room, all amazing.

We loved the decor and the friendly staff! We were upgraded to a lovely room but the room wasn’t ready when we arrived but the amazing Sannah make sure we were ok and gave us a complimentary drink and got our luggage in our room when we got back from going out. She is star, friendly professional! Lai served us at the hotel bar and again another lovely and friendly member of staff! The hotel location is perfect and facilities brilliant but having brilliant staff really makes the difference! Would def come back! Thank you all x
