Good location, very quiet and peaceful, our room overlooked fields. Room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage and good heating system. There was even a heated towel rail in the bathroom! The shower worked very well, and it was nice to find decent shampoo to hand (I forgot to pack ours!) Lovely clean refreshment area with plenty of drinks sachets and little milks. A great place to go for a couple of nights, easy to find and a very reasonable rate. Many thanks to the lovely people who kept our room so beautifully clean.

Only thing we didn't like very much and that was the poor selection of breakfast foods available in Services. We ended up going into Stroud and having breakfast in Wetherspoons!

Very easy to access from motorway and parking was free when staying in motel. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, warm and mostly clean. When reported issue with bath (see below) staff apologised and noted to rectify. 2 minutes walk to the shops/restaurants in the services. Microwave was available in the motel foyer if you wanted to heat up meals.

Small niggle but whilst the bathroom was generally clean, the drain in the bath had obviously not been touched for some considerable time and had significant black mold. I know most people only use the shower and probably wouldn't notice but when you've laid down for a soak it was rather off-putting!

Although the hotel supplies no food, apart from snacks, there was both a microwave and toaster in reception plus a coffee machine and extra supplies of tea etc for the room. The services are walking distance for most people. There is an m&s at the garage, waitrose in the services as well as burger king ,KFC, and subway. The staff were all friendly and approachable, the room clean and comfortable. Basic, as you expect from a budget hotel, but had a small bath as well as shower. We enjoyed our 4 night stay and will be back next year.

To be able to drive to and from the services would have been a bonus but did not detract from our stay.

Really comfortable and the staff were very friendly on arrival. Good value for money. Great stop off on your way down South.

The signage is not good and we are both very elderly and, at 10pm at night, in the dark and pouring rain, we could not find the hotel as it was down a narrow lane with No Entry signs!! The hotel sign was far too faint and this needs to be much more prominent as this caused us unnecessary stress at the end of a very long journey with flooded roads and bad visibility and a very tired dog. We had to ring the hotel to get directions.

Easy booking process. Perfect price. Rooms were simple but just what we needed for a quick one night stay. Easy to find and good location. Rooms of good size, shower facilities ok. Car parking. Nice staff. Didn't hear any traffic which was good considering how close it is to motorway. Rooms good temperature.

You have to go over to the services for breakfast as there are no dining facilities in the hotel. This is not an issue if you don't mind starbucks as this is your only option. There is a microwave and some items can be purchased at reception if you want some porridge or cereal but again options are limited.

I loved the room size and the way the hotel was set out. The hotel is in an ideal location and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It’s a short walk away from KFC and the services, giving plenty of options for food.

I had to exit the motorway to go north to come back and go south again as I couldn’t seem to find an alternative exit. Also, the bath hadn’t been cleaned properly when I arrived however the lady on reception came up to the room and resolved that issue for me.

Convenient location for breaking a long journey with easy access to/from motorway. Staff very friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable with a full bathroom including bath and shower which was a bonus. Surprisingly little noise considering how close to motorway and other services the hotel is.

Obviously down to supply and demand but was put off booking for return journey due to the price for one night being almost double what I had paid for my outbound travel. If price had been equivalent or even slightly higher I wouldn't have hesitated to stay again.

All was fine. All I required was a basic overnight stay and that's exactly what it was. Ideal for quick overnight stop offs and quite affordable for such a purpose. It was easy to book online. I haven't given top marks above as there's always room for improvement, but overall I was satisfied and at least it hadn't been taken over by the Home Office!

Probably the only points I would mention was that the hot water for the bath was not particularly hot and that I could spot areas around door frames that made the room look a little old and in need of refurbishment. The room was also a bit cool regard temperature, but that's no bad thing when trying to save on energy. I simply turned on the heater and turned it off again when the room had warmed. The chairs are functional but never particularly comfortable, but this is standard practice in similar hotels.

Good size room with a comfortable bed and a clean fully functional bathroom. Very quiet throughout my stay despite being close to the motorway. Good view over countryside from the room.

Access to the hotel from the north is not straight forward. Guests must drive past the service station / hotel, take the Thornbury exit and return northbound. This is not really a problem as it is not very far. However, to continue south the following morning, you have to go a long way north before you can get on the south bound motorway. Hotel guests should be granted permission to use the service road to the A38. A clear notice about this should be given in the foyer.

convenient & cheap for a services.

heater in the room was impossible to get head around so not able to put it on, plugs in inconvenient places and damaged charging wires & only 2 plugs in the room not suitable for a couple with a few devices to charge. bathroom door kept getting stuck closed in one room, locking a guest in the bathroom. & night staff where very rude on reception, more bothered about eating a muffin than being helpful.
