The room was clean and spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, there was hot water on tap and in the bathroom. The toilet (cubicle) was unexpected but functional. Lighting can be adjusted using the main switches and from the bed (the room is very well-lit). The TV worked perfectly. There are hangers for clothes. Final points: friendly staff who smile and are ready to help, hairdryer to borrow for free from the reception desk, other guests were nice (be it long/short-staying guests) and it was easy to walk to the city centre. Given the price, this was a good stay. Upon subsequent checks, it seems the price isn't too different from the ibis hotel (not budget) in New Street. Not sure if there is much difference in quality.

The hotel states that it has air-conditioning, but it doesn't. Instead it has an air-cooling/heating unit. It did the job (even in this week with the heatwave - I kept the curtain blind down all the time to keep the heat out). This should be updated in the advert on booking.com. Because of budget (maybe?), there is no kettle in the room. My room window faced the carpark. It is usually pretty quiet, but morning deliveries can turn into unexpected alarm clocks very early in the morning. Bring earplugs if this affects you.

Considering the cost of our stay we feel that we received good value for money. It was clean, comfortable and had all the basic needs. The hotel was conveniently situated for all the things we wanted to do on our trip and if we were doing this again, then we'd return

We had booked a triple room. This comprises of a bunk bed over the double bed which we weren't aware of at the time of booking. We had our 2 year old with us who we wouldn't have put in a bunk bed and when we arrived the bunk bed said not suitable for under 6 years. We all slept in one bed. No harm done but I feel this could have been made clearer on booking.

The beds are perfectly comfy and the rooms are a decent size for what you pay! Although the shower and sink is in the room itself, the you can't see in or out of the shower which is amazing. The pillows are really comfy and the blinds provided really provide black out. The staff cannot do enough for you!! We got stuck there for 9 hours past check out time and we were allowed to stay in the lobby/dining area until we could leave. The staff were brilliantly accommodating with anything that we needed and could not help us enough with food/drinks...we couldn't thank them enough for their brilliant service. Also, brilliant security service at the night times. There was someone at the door to make sure we were where we were supposed to be, and someone on our floor also. Really made it so that we could get back to our rooms without disruption of other guests. I'd 10/10 recommend this place again, and would deffo visit again here when I next come to Birmingham. For what you pay, you definitely get above and beyond what was expected for a budget hotel.

The only thing that we found a little annoying was the key cards were not scanning through on the night before we left- but this was quickly and resolved with reception :)

My biggest pet peeve is when hotel rooms aren’t clean. I couldn’t believe how amazingly clean this hotel room was. I was shocked because I paid such a small amount, definitely value for money! Will deffo be staying again. Car park was £8 for 24hours and is directly connected to the hotel doors which was convenient. The bed was very comfy, and must I add again, CLEAN! So glad I booked this on the whim! Also, the reception staff! Omg they were sooo friendly!

Only downside I suppose would be the fact that the toilet and shower room was separate. Not that it mattered much to me but could be better with both today and maybe a bit more space

The staff was incredibly nice, and helped me with any requests I had at every time of either day or night. The rooms while on the smaller side, were very good and clean. All in all really lovely, and I had a great time.

The breakfast was not my cup of tee. My complain here would be that it was only sweet things and not really savory stuff like eggs or ham/cheese to put on your toast. I did not expect a true English breakfast, yet I would have loved some more choices. Additionally, the coffee there was very watery and weak. Nevertheless it was the only thing to actually complain about.

location and cost for the centre of Birmingham.

Room was very dated with Anaglypta on the walls and beige decor. Shower was functional but open to the room but for a frosted glass door but full length mirror opposite so fully in view of the whole room. Sink was outside the toilet room which was very tiny indeed. Bed adequate with small top bunk above perfect for that smaller person. check in was quick and easy and parking very secure but difficult to locate as entrance from a small modern side road and a gate well hidden at the bottom of said road. if you don’t want to pay the £8 then the side roads nearby are permit holder spaces only between 11-12am Monday to Friday so free and available outside these hours, IE all weekend, Didn’t go for the breakfast so can’t comment.

Room as expected for a budget hotel. Pristine clean, comfortable bed. The desk staff were excellent. No published directions to the hotel. I arrived at the wrong Ibis. I was on foot and carrying luggage. It was raining. My flight was delayed by three hours. By the time I arrived at the hotel, I´d already been travelling 11 hours. I was irate, tired, and soaking wet. The receptionist that greeted me was very reassuring and calming, despite my complaints that the directions I was given during a telephone conversation weren´t clear enough. If I weren´t so tired and wet, things might have been different.

No published directions to the hotel. I arrived at the wrong Ibis after following directions from a passer-by.. I was on foot and carrying luggage. It was raining. My flight was delayed by three hours and then a 4.5 hour flight. By the time I arrived at the hotel, I´d already been travelling over 11 hours.

The lounge very modern, airy. The hotel rooms are small and compact, so having a lounge, where you can hangout, dine your own takeout is a brilliant idea. Lots of vending machines. Makes up for no kettle in room. Access to fridge, first Aid kit. The Staff are the hidden Gems.

The room can get very stuffy (hot temp outside) Air Coolant not very efficient. Opening the window to let in air (front facing room, outside traffic) very noisy, unpleasant for light sleepers. Lack of privacy after showering, if sharing a room.

We love the location and the vibe of the hotel….staff are friendly and helpful when needed and not intrusive. The facilities are basic but good….nothing at all wrong with the room or size..

This is the second time we have stayed and the first time we found that the bed wasn’t that comfortable…so I kinda knew this time it would be the same….a slightly thicker mattress might help…I know it’s budget but the the bed doesn’t have to be as it’s the most important thing in the room….only one pillow wasn’t the best but we managed….the floor was a bit bitty we assumed from mopping and bits left from drying so was ok but you might want to check on that..
