It was all lovely.. Staff were really helpful and friendly.. The bar and games room was amazing.. Definitely recommend.. The jaccuzi was absolutely amazing.. Literally a 5 min walk to the beach.

The pool wasn't open as they has a leak.. Didn't get much sleep either as the walls are really thin and the neighbours kept us awake arguing all night

The hotel exceeded our expectations, we booked a night away for our anniversary and they upgraded us to a room with a balcony! The Reception staff were incredibly helpful and the walk along the promenade into the town centre was stunning.

We booked to use the Pool/Jacuzzi in the evening, and we were well aware that is it unsupervised. The spa area is passcode-locked, but it didn't seem like this was enforced properly, as a large group of young boys came down and 'took over' the pool, doing lots of dive-bombs and splashing us and the young family that were there too. I expect none of these lads were actually booked in to use the spa, so it was very hard to relax in this environment.

Very friendly and competent staff. Checking in and out was easy and quick. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was very good. The hotel is in a very good location as it is really very close to the beach and about 30min walking distance from the train station.

The only small detail that was not so great was the free toiletries in the room as we found that the soap was not easy to rinse. Some other users have mentioned that the decoration is a bit dated and that is true, but we found that the hotel is well maintained and clean so we did not mind that at all

Friendly staff, clean rooms and nice pool/hot tub area. Very close to the beach - 5-10 mins walk down the hill (even my parents in their 70s managed the walk back up the hill). The beach and promenade is clean with toilets spaced at regular intervals (no more than a 5 or 10 walk between them!) There is also a reasonable selection of cafes and restuarants along the promenade within a 15 minute walk if you don't fancy venturing far from the hotel in the evening. It was an excellent choice for taking my older parents away for a few days but would also have been good for a young family as there was table tennis and pool in the lounge

The hotel itself is looking a little bit tired and could do with a refresh at some point in the near future but couldn't fault it for the price and location.

Lovely staff. Helpful. Nice comfy bed. We were in room 229. Very quiet room. Nice breakfast with lots of choice. Lift to our floor. Entertainment 2 nights. Guitarist excellent. We missed lady 2nd night. Hotel very clean. We noticed a coach Company used the Hotel. Loved the Swimming Pool nice and warm. In Basement. Stairs down to pool. Nice changing rooms. Towels given at Reception to use in Pool. We did not use Jacuzzi. Games room for children. Free parking for cars in front and back of Hotel. Very reasonable charging point for ELECTRIC CARS at rear. Nice garden at back and apartments. We did find the local buses run to time. We could use our Freedom Pass Free on all buses. You could get a timetable on buses but maybe Hotel has? Would be helpful. No. 70 bus near Hotel. Level walk to Hotel. We had a lovely large pizza one evening in the Bar. But sandwiches would be nice in the evening Bar to.

Could Reception explain about the buses to the Hotel. We did not realise the No. 70 bus stopped near. Level walk to Hotel. It stops down by beach at Alum Chine. Very steep walk down to Alum Chine and Beach. Even steeper walk back up if you have walking problems. Maybe Notice Board at Reception. We used our Freedom Passes on the local buses free. Even the open top buses. We used Taxis quite a bit till we realised about 70 bus. The bus would have saved us money. Breakfast was great. But we did not like the sausages. Loved everything else. We would have liked Sandwiches as a snack in the Evening Bar. We did have a lovely Pizza but really just wanted a sandwich.

The hotel is in a great location in a quite residential area, a short walk from Alum Chine beach. The staff are brilliant throughout the hotel, nothing is too much trouble and we were always greeted with a smile. The breakfast was fabulous, a buffet style continental and cooked breakfast - delicious! This hotel has the additional benefit of having a small swimming pool, which we both enjoyed.

Our twin room was very small which was exacerbated by the very large and old fashioned furniture, however the bathroom was quite spacious and the shower was excellent. The room was serviced every day, great for the restocking of drinks but perhaps a little overkill with the fresh towels everyday despite the comment in the bathroom about the environmental impact of towel washing.

Beds were really comfortable snd clean. We booked an apartment and a family room. Apartment size was really big. it has everything we needed. Family room was a bit smaller than expected but still comfortable. Located near alum chine beach which we preferred for the kids. A bit of a walk to go to the pier. Staffs were all really friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy for us. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in jacuzzi. We also liked the games and pool table at the bar.

Our pantry weren't refilled everyday in both rooms so ran out of tea, sugar and milk everyday. The family room is at the top floor and there is a sky window in the bathroom. When it rained, it was really loud and felt as if the bathroom tap wasn't shut. Night time the water outside was dripping non stop and very loudly. It kept some people awake. In the apartment between the corridoor and living room, the carpet bar strip was slightly exposed so it pricked our foot if we ever stepped on it. Other than that, we loved the apartment.

Hotel staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything. Indoor pool was really good and a massive bonus for the hotel, especially on bad weather days. Breakfast was a good buffet style, kept the items well stocked. Bar area was enjoyable for after a day at the beach, etc. with pool, table tennis and air hockey for the kids to enjoy.

Beach location is slightly misleading, it is as the crow flies or you have a long drop off a cliff! Slightly longer walk and hills to take into consideration so may not be the best for those with walking problems or will have to drive. Bathroom for the room could really do with a bit of modernising. Looked old and outdated though shower was good.

Breakfast was excellent, food in general was really good. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the bar/restaurant area. Helpful and attentive staff. Bed was nice and comfy. Really close to the beach with lovely walks for us and doggy. Overall we had a lovely time and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Minor things, there were no vegan dessert options other than fruit salad (vegan chocolate cake is often better than regular cake ☺️). Decor a bit outdated in our room and the extractor fan never worked, leaving some condensation in the room.

The receptionist Mike was so lovely and accommodating and it was like being at home away from home with how friendly everyone was. They had upgraded us for the evening so we had a beach view room which was really nice. We were a walk short walk away from the beach and less than 10 minutes in a car into the town centre where we went for dinner. The spa facilities were nice and relaxing and not too busy which was a bonus. Breakfast was nice, and there was some selection of options. The waiters at breakfast were nice and responsive to our orders even though it was busy.

The hotel itself is a little bit dated, but still ok. There could be better signage on some of the rooms and corridors as we did find ourselves getting a little bit lost. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest and we were only given 1 of the toiletries and 1x serving of the hot chocolate/tea/coffee station even though there was 3 of us in the room. We could have had more but there was an additional charge which was not ideal. I didn't like that we had to walk through the restaurant area to get up to the room from the spa as this was a little embarrassing but I guess couldn't be helped.
