The room was absolutely lovely and very spacious! We immediately felt at home. Everything was sparklingly clean and the staff were without exception incredibly friendly. We are particularly grateful to the woman who did the housekeeping, who could not have been nicer and always made sure we had everything we needed. Having the theatre and pub downstairs was also a plus and we enjoyed having live jazz music, a pub quiz and several performances so close by. The location is lovely and there are lots of food and drink options around.

Very comfortable room, staff on site were lovely. The pub serves lunch and dinner, tasty and good value for money. The pantry area with milk, mineral water and cereal was a lovely touch. There is a little Hungarian cafe two minutes walk away on the same street if you fancy a heartier breakfast. We stayed for the Balloon Fiesta and the room is about 45 minutes walk from the festival site. (1 hour 10 on the way back as they close the suspension bridge after 6.) It is 2 minutes walk away from the bus stop for Temple Meads station, there are many restaurants nearby.

The only thing I didn’t love were the numerous emails, it‘s good to be kept informed but I’m not sure it needed quite this many. The mails also seemed to focus on telling us what not to do, but maybe they had bad experiences in the post and maybe this is standard - I tend to stay in bigger hotels, so maybe they are just different. Also note that as well as giving your credit card to Booking.com you are also asked to provide it to Hopewell and they place a £150 security deposit onto your credit card when you check in. This was no problem and came off my card very quickly, just something to be aware of.

Excellent customer service - lost hotel key! They provided a replacement with no issues. Room decor is good Food is excellent Self service basic Breakfast with cereals was perfect

Small issues for the picky customer - Bathroom was clean and of a high standard apart from the problematic groove of the hinge mechanism of the toilet seat - which was dirty - its hard to reach and clean but it needs to be looked at. Bulbs on the bedside were not working Random sellotape on the wall - as if something had been stuck up and removed and the tape had been left on the wall For me, they were not big enough problems to complain but I'm aware since the programme 'Four in a bed' there are people who travel with white gloves to check for dust!

There were 4 rooms booked and staff put me in the wrong room. The blind in Room one needs to be fixed. As a result of booking the 4 rooms, which had to be booked individually I ended up with 150 emails and messages about the booking!!!

Great location near to local restaurants and bars. Excellent for transport link to the rest of Bristol. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. The pantry area outside of the rooms is so thoughtful and useful, fresh bottled water and milk available in a fridge 24hrs a day. Also breakfast cereals, tea, coffee and sugar.

It’s been a very hot week, so we did miss having air conditioning, maybe a fan available would help

Lovely big room with a very comfortable bed and superb towels and linen. Loved the 24/7 access to fresh milk, tea and coffee and cereal, great idea. staff were busy but helpful and the location, with a great pub with good food, was great. We had no disturbance from noise at all and slept very well.

Nothing major… it’s a bit of a climb up narrow stairs if you have luggage and the paintwork on the windows needed attention but neither affected our stay

Great staff and comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. Large sized room. USB sockets by the bed. Nice, proper, coffee facilities rather than instant.

You can't fill the kettle from the sink! Ridiculously high £150 'security' deposit...that takes days to clear back.

The WI-FI was terrible and hardly worked at all. Whilst I appreciated having a cafetière in the room there was nowhere to clean it (or my coffee cup) apart from in my bathroom sink.

Nice big room. There is a provisions cupboard with cereal and milk that you can help yourself to in the hallway. Good pub downstairs and free roadside parking at the weekend but there may not be much space.

Noisy at pub closing time but not unexpected. Too many emails and messages via booking about the same things, and many of them unnecessary.

Beautiful room, very clean, cosy and so nicely decorated. Location was perfect, great neighbourhood. We loved that it was above the pub. Coffee, tea, milk & cereal was also bonus. Staff was also very nice and helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much!
