The lady on reception was amazing and couldn't do enough, nice breakfast with lots of choice, secure parking. Super clean and comfortable bed, really good selection of tea/coffee in the room including decaffeinated. Very quiet at all times. Good WiFi. Towels were a perfect balance of soft enough but also not too soft they didn't dry you. Nothing was too much trouble for this hotel.

Very dated. Bad condensation on windows. The fact there is no lift should have been advertised as it caused my partner with mobility issues a problem. Taps in the bath wouldn't run as a bath only a shower,

Comfortable, cheap. Right where we wanted to be. Good breakfast, well-trained , attentive and happy staff. Comfortable bed. We asked for an extra table because there was very little room to put things down. The bed was huge and all we wanted was a double. The bed filled the room and so there wasn't room for much extra furniture - but they gave us all we needed. If we had been staying for longer and expecting a holiday, I would have liked more comfort but for a quick visit for a funeral and to see a friend, it was unfussy and just what we wanted.

Our room was on the ground floor, on the road side with grass outside and so we were close to the road. I would have liked net curtains to completely cover the window rather than just the middle and I'd have liked the curtains to be operated by a drawstring rather than pulling by hand - however, I think they are planning to change this shortly. While we were there the taps in the basin and the shower had a drip but we were not disturbed because we were able to lay the shower head next to the drain and so we were not disturbed. We were promised a discount through having no hot water on the first night, but I think they had forgotten about this promise. I don't care anyway because despite these shortcomings, I think it was great value for money.

The location is superb. The hotel can accommodate special requests upon booking. The kitchen staff are hard working and extremely friendly. The breakfast is delicious with vegetarian options. Good value for money and perfect location. Almost all reception team members were cheerful and helpful. Housekeeping accommodated our requests and were happy to help.

Mattresses aren’t that comfortable and small double bed for a couple is a challenge. The room wasn’t that spacious and neither was the bathroom.

This is a great place to stay in Bristol. I highly recommend The Washington. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful on arrival. I was delighted to have been upgraded to a twin from a single. My room was very clean and kept to a high standard. The beds were incredibly soft, i sunk right in. There was a nice little arrangement of tea, coffee, biscuits and apples on arrival. My bathroom was the perfect size and everything worked well. The place itself was very quiet, although I did hear some noise from a nearby pub, but not the hotel's fault. It did settle later. This hotel is actually closer to the city centre than I had first thought. From the map, I thought it was way out of the city, but it is super close to the city centre and in a nice area, near the College Green / Uni area.Take the number 8 Clifton bus and it will have you there in no time. The all you can eat buffet Cosmos is within about a 6 minite walk, i indulged on my last night in Bristol and then enjoyed relaxing in my room. The breakfast the next morning was lovely with plenty of choice such as toast, cereals, yoghurt and also a hot food option. I enjoyed a breakfast sandwhich and I left very full indeed. I would certainly come back to The Washington, thank you to the staff for my great time staying in Bristol. Rachel, N.Ireland.

Generally all very good.

Very accessible location, lots of shops around and walking distance transportation. Breakfast is good value for what you pay for. Big tv. Friendly and approachable staff. For the price its really a good value especially if you're looking for a place just to sleep in through the night. We also get a good sleep, comfy beds and pillow.

No lift, not good if you have pram and luggages. The shower room needs more attention for cleaning. Furnitures are dated. Molds in the window and toilet. Need more soundproofing in the rooms, you can hear through the walls. I understand that the building is old but can do more attention to details and cleaning.

The fruits and wide selection of coffees, teas and infusions was a nice touch. Not to mention the mini cafetiere and vegan milk! All the staff was friendly and helfull throughout. The room and bed were of adequate size with view on the street from traditional sash windows! Overall the staff, the clean and confortale facilities, the affordable price and the location make this B&B a 10/10 in my book!

Minor inconvenience was having to settle for an early slot for breakfast as the later ones were already taken upon arrival. It's a shame we can't book a time slot when making the reservation on line as opposed to at reception when checking in,

All staff we came into contact with at The Washington were friendly & welcoming. Breakfast buffet selection was varied & cooked breakfast was very good with friendly staff serving. Parking on site was limited but we managed to park for the duration of our stay.

There was no lift in the building so it was a walk up four flights of stairs from street level to the family room we occupied on the second floor, which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues or needing to carry luggage, buggies etc. Uphill walk from the City centre back to The Washington takes about 20 minutes & is a good cardio workout!

The reception and the breakfast staff were great and very attentive. It's a nice touch to see their name in the blackboard when you get in. The continental breakfast was abundant and very nice. The room welcomes you with a basket with fresh fruits and nice biscuits, teas, coffee and chocolate. Beds were very comfortable too.

The room could have been better. There was humidity in the ceiling, and thev wardrobe and carpet could have been cleaner. The toilet had also stained walls and dirty curtains. Back in the room, one of the window curtains couldn't be raised more than a few inches, the other nothing at all. So we couldn't enjoy the natural light during the day.

Excellent freshly cooked breakfast. I really liked the fact that there was a cafetiere and ground coffee in the room. I also appreciated the hot chocolate and biscuits on my first night when I arrived quite late after a long journey, especially as I was wet and cold. The fresh fruit in the room was a nice touch. The location of the hotel was very good, with local shops and wide choice of places to eat within walking distance. Also there was a frequent bus service a few minutes walk away with connections to the city centre and railway station.

The room was rather dated and the curtain hooks were broken meaning that the curtain didn't hang properly.

Great location, 10 minute walk and you are at the museum and lots of places to eat. 20 minutes walk to the observatory and a little more (in the opposite direction) to the harbour side. Room was clean, beds and pillows (yay got 2 each) were very comfortable. Huge tray of tea/coffee/milks -even oat milk. Staff very friendly and breakfast was good. Fan in room if got warm and we did

The only thing was that the internal fire door slammed everything anyone went through it - it should self close, just needs adjusting. Other than that everything was fab.
