We arrived slightly early to be met by Stuart. He was very, very welcoming and didn't mind us being early. We had a choice of rooms. being disabled and being offered a walk in shower was fantastic, The room was clean, bright and very clean, with views onto lots of land. The road was close, but not loud. Stuart explained about the breakfast times and the breakfast room, as well as about the land and animals that we were able to see, AM. breakfast a lovely choice of cereals juice, cooked breakfast - Good bacon, meaty sausage, eggs ( scrambled for me) perfect. beans, tomato mushrooms and toast, plentiful and quality - perfect. Walking round the grounds there is a tree house you can book into. FREE parking. and pretty flat. And a space to sit, while knitting,
Wish we had a longer stay,,,, next time,

Stuart was an excellent host and made me feel very welcome. The accommodation was very good too with a nice size room, a very comfy bed and a decent bathroom. It was nice to have plenty of parking out front so there are definitely no worries there.
Nothing at all; it might be wise to check Google maps to to make sure you know the best way to go as the route can be a little tricky or unintuitive (i.e. if you need to head south east on the A2 toward Dover you can either go through Canterbury or head back up the A2 and come back on yourself which can be quicker. Again no issue but worth knowing).

Loved the location. Very quiet and peaceful. Ample safe parking available. Close enough to Canterbury city centre to take up the buzz of what is on offer. The two old spot pigs on the edge of the wood were delightful. Although I didn't get the chance to take a walk the woodland area looked perfect for a walk. The tree house rooms looked tempting as an alternative night away. My room was clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. Even though it was hot the room was deceptively cool. Loved the idea of the honesty bar. Serve yourself and note down what you had taken for payment to the host. Excellent. The host is really attentive with nothing too much trouble to make make your stay a memorable one. We'll done Stuart.
What's not to like? The only thing that was missing from the room on a very hot day was a small fridge, just saying, not a criticism.

The host Stuart was just the perfect host, so welcoming and friendly, he was dealing with a guest who had some issues with his rental card and did not speak English and we could see how helpful and attentive Stuart was, that is dedication to his guests and it's amazing. The location away from the country in a high forest was so peaceful! The room was spacious and the bathroom had a very good size and nice design. I did not have the English breakfast but my husband did and said it was great! We were just passing through to our way to France, getting there late in the evening and leaving very early in the morning so sadly we could not enjoy the facilities and a good conversation with Stuart, but we definitely we will stop by again if we are around once again!! Free parking was great as we were travelling by car.
Everything was perfect, and we left with a very good feeling and really happy! From a hospitality professional, working in housekeeping I can say the room was almost spotless apart from some dusting in some of the corners or wall... :P. This is just a tip, as you can see they do a really good job and they are very dedicated to it. :) Mattress was not for us, it feel to soft but this is just personal opinion, there was nothing wrong with it.

We had a warm welcome from Stuart who was a fab host. We loved the very comfortable bed- just the right firmness on the mattress and very soft, quality sheets. The hot (full English) breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. We had a very clean and spacious room with fluffy towels and decent loo paper(!) We loved visiting the pigs who were excited to see us too and we enjoyed exploring the grounds. The location was quiet and a relaxing breather from town, with great views. We found it easy to get a taxi, walk or bus to and from town. We'd definitely stay again in the future.
The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed when all the windows were open (was remedied by closing the velux in the bathroom) and we found that the water pressure was quite variable depending on who else was using the supply but again this was not really a problem.

We couldn't really fault this B&B. It is in a lovely quiet location in beautiful grounds with a couple of very friendly pigs to go for a walk with!. The room was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and every thing worked. Breakfast was excellent and freshly made. There was plenty of parking and it is near to everything without being in a town. The host, Stuart, was very welcoming and efficient. I would happily recommend it and stay there again if I was in the area. It is a bit of a 'find'!
Nothing I can think of!

Breakfast very good , room and bathroom were spacious and modern . Beds comfortable and newish . Stuart was hospitable and helpful . Location is good for exploring Thanet and coastal towns and the woodlands are pleasant to explore . Sound from A2 is noticable but not from bedrooms . Overall a definite recommend .
Improve and add to children's play area . Add a fridge to room or breakfast area for shared use . Too many used tyres around the woodland area .

We had a very warm welcome from Stuart! He was able to answer any questions and was very helpful and available if needed. The room was ideal for our family of 3, very clean and all the facilties we could need. We were free to explore the grounds of the property which included the woodland and its two friendly pigs! The breakfast was amazing! I had already read positive reviews about the breakfast and they were all correct! My daughter loved the sausages so much she was pinching ours!

Lakeside Lodge was in a great location for Canterbury. It felt like you were in the middle of the countryside but only a short trip into Canterbury. The host Martin was very helpful and friendly. The outside veranda was so cute and with a lovely outlook. We sat out and had drinks, so relaxing. The beds were super comfy. Nice big white towels. Breakfast was exceptional. Lots of choice followed by a very tasty full English with their own sausages, some the best we’ve had. Highly recommend.
Nothing to not like.

The breakfast was very tasty, especially the mushrooms, and was cooked to perfection. There was more than enough choice for all tastes. Our room ticked all the boxes and was warm, cosy and clean. The view from the window was pleasant as we faced the woods so plenty of wildlife around to watch. The en suite was very clean too with a good shower and bath and the location of the property was perfect as Canterbury city centre was only a couple of miles away. Altogether we enjoyed our stay at Oakside Lodge very much indeed and we'll definitely go back there for any future visits to Kent. 10 out of 10.
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
