Unique interesting property. Friendly capable staff. Spacious room and bathroom and bed. Lovely grounds. Quiet despite a party in marquee. Evening meal of chicken, mash , tarragon sauce and perfect vegetables was EXCELLENT.

Car park needed a tidy up. Steps from car park are not suited to the elderly with cases although I am sure if we had asked they would have carried them for us. Large bedroom had nowhere to sit despite large size of room. Two easy chairs or a sofa would have easily fitted. There were a few anomalies which spoilt the decor eg plastic flowers and odd mirrors .

The scenery was beautiful. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. I came with my family and we loved the stay here. The rooms were varying a lot in sizes but they were all clean and beds were very comfortable.

One of our sinks didn't give cold water at all just warm and hot water. And some rooms didn't have opening windows and due to the weather it was very hot and stuffy and the heatings were still left on even though it was boiling. Food was lovely for breakfast but served slightly later than anticipated and due to us having to leave early for graduation ceremonies we could not stay for full breakfasts.

Friendly, welcoming receptionist. Friendly bar staff. Amazing room, good tea tray, lovely toiletries, amazing facilities, fantastic walking outside, bed and pillows super comfortable. Out of a 3 night trip in various b+bs this was the best Good breakfast and the waitress was so nice , seeing to our every need

Sadly the restaurant menu offers 2 or 3 courses for a set price which forces over eating as we would be happy with just a main . Then to top it all the starter my husband had his heart set on was not available, so we chose it to eat here and headed into the town for a sandwich

The receptionist Georgi was lovely, very welcoming and friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely, beds were comfortable. Although 2 singles pushed together so kept coming apart. Plenty of hot drink variety in the room and bottled water. The food was lovely.

Couldn't get logged onto the WiFi. The doors were banging very loudly through the night making sleep very difficult. The service at breakfast was very slow and not the best. Waited a really long time before anyone even appeared to serve us. Only blinds on the window meaning a lay in wasn't possible due to light coming into the room early in the morning.

Dalston Hall is a beautiful building in attractive surroundings. A special thank you to the member of staff who checked us in, while looking after the attendees for a family fun day that was also running. She couldn't have been more helpful, or more professional.

Two very minor things: With no key for the front door, it's difficult to leave the building after 10pm. We were told that the Northern Lights might be visible while we were there, but going out into the grounds to see them would have meant that we'd need to call the night porter to let us back in. Also our breakfast was really quite undercooked. We had the veggie breakfast - the sausages were still quite pink and the hash brown very pale.

Perfect stay for a birthday celebration. Stunning accommodation and exceptional staff, especially Samantha who went out of her way to make our stay extra special and memorable. The bed was really comfortable and the whole venue was immaculate. Food was great, a fantastic selection for breakfast and a lovely choice for evening meal and it was all delicious. We will definitely be returning.

The only slight niggle was that the shower temperature fluctuated from warm to cold, but it didn’t cause any problems and it could well be due to something I was/wasn’t doing. And I will definitely be returning.

Beautiful location in excellent grounds maintained to a high standard. Breakfast was excellent quality (and quantity). Room was comfortable and clean. Staff friendly not just on arrival but on all contact.

While room itself was clean and comfortable, the Wi-Fi was non existent (room 3) from two mobile devices and a laptop. With the hotel's location being in a mobile "good luck" location (varied between E, 4G and 5G), I'd be wary of what room you are accommodated in should you be staying here on business. Apparently the Wi-Fi issue had been reported to supplier some time before and was still "being worked on"... As we only stayed one night for leisure, this didn't impact on our experience but may do for others.

The staff were lovely they went over and above to make you welcome and the food was excellent. Such a grand place and the rooms were very spacious.

The signage was poor. The reception and bar were not staffed adequately and there seemed to be a lot of pressure on those who were there to be in many places at once. They need to improve the website the menu and restaurant hours are not promoted and given the location you need to know if it is operating.

I booked this for me and my partner as we were attending my daughters graduation the next day in Carlisle. The hotel was more than what I expected and the I was extremely please with the room as it was the first time me and my partner had been away together we ended up with the honeymoon suite and I was over the moon. The room had a extravagant 4 poster bed and a jacuzzi bath in the same room with a swivel TV so meant we could have a jacuzzi bath and swivel the TV round and watch at the same time. The bed was very clean and extremely comfortable. Room had coffee tea and spring water. All in all the room was more than I expected and can't wait to come back and stay more than the 1 night. Breakfast was brilliant as well. Selection of cereals and pastries and tea and coffee but also cooked breakfasts.

There was nothing I didn't like expect only not having a restaurant on site but that wasn't a big issue.

This is a lovely hotel with very grand interior furnishings. It definitely has that 'castle' feel about it. The room we stayed in was very spacious with all the usual facilities. For us the bed was a little hard but that's just down to personal preference. The breakfast was also lovely and they easily catered for my wife who has to have a diary free diet.

Our only dislike would be that on our nights stay their onsite restaurant was closed which meant we had to go elsewhere. Whilst this wasn't an issue we did end up travelling quite a distance as the pub in the village had stopped serving food at 7pm (5minutes before we got there).
