This was the cheapest accommodation I could find for a necessary overnight stay in Carlisle. As budget accommodation it fitted my needs. It is not a place for a romantic weekend….it doesn’t pretend to be. The manager/owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful…they facilitated me keeping my bicycle in the room. I had the breakfast and I enjoyed it.

The bed wasn’t great ( had a bit of a dip ). Sheets and cleanliness was fine though. It is an older property which needs a little attention, but fair play to the owners and staff, there is a degree of consciousness in their approach to the customers

The staff arranged balloons and birthday banners in the room as we were there to celebrate my sister in law’s 21st birthday. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to store our bags in the reception area before check in as we arrived early and allowed us to keep our bags there after check out time too so we could go shopping. The beds were comfortable.

A little bit of a walk to and from the centre

The hosts were so welcoming lovely people and very helpful making us feel welcome The breakfast was great value for money Loved the location This property was value for money and we were able to park at the back of this hotel for free in the car park Had a late bar in the hotel, didn’t mind at all, alcohol was a good price from the bar

Nothing, it’s was as expected. Would recommend that the host updated the property by painting the interior at some point in the future.

It was cheap and cheerful the staff were lovely the room was basic but fit for purpose bed was comfortable and it was close to the pubs (reason we visited) I think for the price you get what you pay for :) and I would stay again

I’d like a mirror in the room A little modernisation and freshen up would make it perfect

Get what you pay for. Clean, basic, single room. Shower,(tiny), toilet, basin, kettle with all you need. TV and internet. What else would you want.? Had heard pub could be noisy and my room was above front door but apart from outside temperature which was not the owners fault obviously, slept like a baby.

really hot Friday, for Carlisle, very busy outside. Certainly not owners fault, road and pubs outside very busy so sleep interrupted. Otherwise no problems.

really good prices for the room and would come again beds were okay and it was really good.

how early housekeeping will nock on the door if they have stays don't come around till about 12 1 ish as that a better time for most people as you end up walking into people sleeping and they should say Houswkeeping before they come in as it might wake people up as well.

Good value for the prize, friendly owner, easy 10 min walk from the train station. The room was decent size, reasonably clean and the bed confortable. Fine for a night or two.

Most rooms are facing the main road, with traffic all day and night. Can be disturbing for some. But you can always use ear buds if necessary.

Breakfast was excellent, and was working at Carlisle Racecourse, location to course was only 7mins away.

vents in the shower room could do with cleaning and shower could do with updating, but beds and linen etc were spotless and beds were very comfortable, didnt take me long to fall asleep, but was woken afew times cos of lights from traffic, some blackout curtains would be good. I will be coming back again.

Stayed before, very friendly staff & friendly locals - I look forward to trips to Carlisle just so I can stay here! If carlsberg made a hotel for me or and contractor it would look like this, functional accommodation, a bar, a pool table, friendly locals who love karaoke and dominoes opposite - the roadhouse has it all.

It is what it is - exceptional value, nothing I can complain about.

Room was clean, neat and tidy. Kettle provided with tea and coffee facilities. Bed was comfortable. Room supplies checked/updated daily. Nice to stay in a place again with a shower that worked (prior stays had some strange shower facilities). A place to sleep, and go out and explore Carlisle from its good location, not far from the train station or the city centre, and some local shops.

While the room was clean, neat and tidy, the room was basic and small, looked a little dated, just space for a bed, bench, bathroom. That by itself made little difference to me, so value for money as not as expensive as others, but if you want luxury this room wouldn’t satisfy you. The room I had faced the road, and you could hear the smokers from the hotel who gathered out the front talking. I wasn’t actually in the room when the sirens went blazing past, but you could hear normal traffic as soft noise so not the best for light sleepers, though I slept fine. I confirmed before coming that wifi would be available, and it was, though I found the wifi to be patchy. The one powerpoint was close to the bench, and the overhead light did not shine on the bench.
