The staff at the hotel were really lovely. Down to earth and chatty. They were very welcoming and efficient. The two ladies that were there seemed to sit all duties between them...reception, bar and waitressing, but did them all very well. The night porter was very friendly too. The food was excellent!

We couldn't get the TV in one of our rooms to work, but we were leaving very early for a flight, so wasn't worth reporting.

Staff were very pleasant. room was a good size. bed was comfortable and shower was good. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, really good value for the money. Location was good, reasonably close to both EMA Airport and Train station. There was also a bar which was very much appreciated after a full day's travelling.

Very positive experience altogether, but the room we stayed in had a double bed and a single bed - there was a slight problem, in that the extra single bed was sited right in front of the only source of heating in the room - we had to move the single bed away from the electric heater, to put the heater on - in our opinion not the safest place to put an extra bed. Other than that, place was good and nothing to complain about. Probably not a problem in the summer!

The receptionist was outstandingly welcoming. She made us laugh and was very helpful and informative. She had a "can do" attitude and was compassionate when she realised I had walking issues . She made sure our room was as close to the reception,as she could, without being prompted to do so. The room was clean and smart and the bed was comfortable. Restaurant prices were sensible and affordable. The receptionist was a 🌟 star.

The only small issue is the number of electric sockets was too limited for us and there was not one by the bedside but reception were happy to provide an extension so the matter was easily resolved..

it had everything I needed. the staff was very nice and welcoming: unfortunately because of work I usually came back to the hotel late and couldn’t find the time to buy things that i needed, like a battery charger. a girl at the desk has been so kind to give it to me one. thanks again. the other personnel is extremely friendly and available as well! rooms are clean, big and functional. never had problems with anything. the heaters work so well they look like they run on nuclear power. don’t know why the rating is lower than other places. food is good as well, which is an important factor.

bathroom wasn’t clean by the staff - bath was dirty after previous quests !!! hotel shall be more cleaning (during my accommodation I haven’t seen any cleaning lady) carpet in the hallways was dirty and cluttered in a few places for whole week my room wasn’t cleaning during my accommodation no vegetables on a breakfast

Lovely staff, nice breakfast, nice location, not bad price.

The hotel is looking a little tired.. needs redecoration in many places.. all the bedroom doors have had their locks replaced and the holes of the old locks have just been taped up.. the carpets in our room needed steam cleaning and the bed divans had stains on them.. the whole place gave me the impression that it had just been taken over and the new owners were doing it up bit by bit.. the staff were lovely and helpful so all credit to them.. they must have been having issues with goods being delivered as they had run out of food and certain beers.. the patio area outside needed sweeping of paper cups, fag butts and old dry leaves..

For the price this hotel was extremely good value. The rooms were a decent size, beds were comfortable and it was clean. We ate there in the evening and the food was plain pub grub, but very reasonably priced and excellent value. Breakfast was a bit disorganised, but the staff kept replenishing food dishes and there was plenty to eat.

This is a budget hotel, so it is no frills, but we expected that for the price.

Extremely warm welcome by reception staff who were very helpful. I am gluten free and they were again very helpful with the menu giving me a copy of what i could/could not have. We received a 10% discount on our drinks as our food was a little late in coming out (although we were in no rush and it was not a problem). The gluten free pizza was delicious with 4 different cheese toppings. The breakfast was excellent, continental and cooked and again, food was excellent and very hot. We would definitely stay there again. A very warm welcome, great food, great location and great price.

THe ONLY thing with the hotel (not the staff) is the rooms are very dated. Dirty and worn carpets, holes in walls and ceilings. The bathroom and bed were very clean and very comfortable but once you leave the lovely reception area it feels like you are in a different hotel. It wasn't a big problem at all as our stay was very comfortable but if anything, the hotel rooms and landings definitely need a lick of paint and repairing/updating. We stayined in a "delux double" - we were wondering what the standard double would have been like if our delux rooms were how they were!

Stayed here a few times now for BTCC at Donnington Park, great location, nice friendly staff, Hotel is gradually being upgraded and we have noticed some good improvements of the last few years, good choice of food and drink too.

Rooms could do with an upgrade compared to the more common area's which are looking nice now

The room was a good size, it had a good bathroom with a bath and shower . There were good mirrors in the room. The lighting was good. It was well equipped with an iron, ironing board, safe, coffee machine, TV, tea and coffee

I did not like the purple paint in the corridors. It was functional rather than a charming historic building
