Car parking should be for patrons only. More bar staff in evening.

Great location for exploring Chester and North Wales. Helpful staff, good breakfast and on site parking. Terrific to have a restaurant and bar - enjoyed the Sunday roast.

Floor in dining room needed a good clean. It was black and sticky!! At breakfast one of the staff members had her 'flip flop/thong' come off her foot and stick to the floor!!! Staff reaction was just to laugh. Pity - it was the only negative about this property..

Staff were lovely and attentive, and the room was really lovely and clean. Location convenient just a short walk into Chester City Centre. Free breakfast being included was great, saved us having to find somewhere to eat each morning. They soundproofed it well as when you are in the room you can't tell there's a whole pub/restaurant downstairs!

Only negatives were that vegetarian breakfast was dry, there were no blackout curtains, so we were woken up by the sunlight, and you could hear the downstairs kitchen door slamming, which also woke us up.

Our evening meal was excellent, breakfast also very good. Staff were very friendly and chatty. The hotel has a really good bar and outside drinking area. Free parking was a bonus and it’s in a good location for getting in and out of Chester.

The bed was very uncomfortable, I think the mattress needs replacing (room 9). Also this room has the bar toilets underneath so wasn’t easy getting any sleep until the bar closed because the hand dryer was constantly going off .

Good spacious rooms, very helpful staff, bar was constantly busy but couldn’t hear it in room , although if you were over beer garden you wouldn’t get an early night in the summer I suspect but great value , clean , walkable to centre but regular buses just outside door and opposite, a street with good pubs and pub food too .

Tv was on wall at an angle that you could only watch it if you sat on the floor, they knew it was a prob when we mentioned it and said they were going to deal with it, but if that’s an issue for you check which room you get,

The room was comfy breakfast was good and dinner at night was very good for the money overall no complaints. Chester city itself was only 15 minutes walk away.

The noise from the other guest at night, but that's part of staying in a hotel with a pub, bathroom needed a bit of TLC but otherwise a nice place to stay

Called for attention when arrived, a little wait for someone to see to us. Lady helped us with our bags. Room clean, tidy, comfortable.

Fire alarm going off at 04:25 in the morning, which went off for some time & there was no one on site to check that all residents were ok/out. This then disturbed our sleep. When we came to leave, I tried to call for attention to hand in keys, but no one came. So, no, thank you for staying, checking that everything was OK. We did mention to two of the staff about the alarm, but neither seemed bothered or apologised or gave us any feedback on what disturbed our sleep.

it was in a great location only a 10-15 minute walk into Chester. it was good value for money with breakfast being included in the final price. the room was cleaned daily with amenities in the room such as tea and coffee being restocked which we appreciated.

we had some issues with the tv as the remote didn’t work majority of the time. parking was excellent as included in the price however it was a small car park and when we returned from a day out all parking spaces were full due to pub visitors and we had to park in a side street. this did only happen once so cannot complain too much but was a small car park that had to accommodate both people staying in the pub and eating.

Location good 10min walk to town or catch bus from across the road.easy check in room very good,warm clean plenty of tea,coffe and biscuits,bed very comfortable.I had a meal in the evening which was very nice and big portion.staff were very good and the breakfast which was included in the price was exceptional,lot of variety.Enjoyed the quiz,didn't win but team of one against big teams 😁

I found the reserved table system a bit annoying.i was sat at a table which could seat 5to6 people for the quiz on my own.The reserved sign said it was reserved at 9.15 for Mike who turned up at 9.40 and asked me to move around the table to another seat thinking I was in his seat I moved and then sat opposite me not using the chair I had vacated.(4empty seats on table). very odd!

The location is a 15min walk from the Town centre, and lots of excellent places to eat and drink within walking distance as well. Rooms were clean, tidy and more than enough space for hanging clothes. Lovley staff and the bar was well stocked.

There weren't any usb charging ports at all, could do with at least one double socket to be fitted with these built in, even more so these days when everything seems to be USB charging. The shower was a bit grubby on the bottom of the doors, could do with a deep clean, the dirt on them wasn't just a few days old.
