Room was really lovely, comfortable beds and great bathroom. All spotlessly clean well equipped and super soft towels. Handy off street parking.

Couldn’t open the window in the bedroom and it was stiflingly hot. The breakfast was strange as the egg (fried or scrambled) arrived before we had a chance to finish our cereal. Also had to queue for breakfast as the number of tables didn’t accommodate the number of rooms and we were rushed out again to let the next people in. There was no muesli the 2nd day of our stay. Such a lovely place could do so much more to enhance the stay and make it excellent.

Breakfast is served in next door, across the joint car park. Very good selection of hot and cold food. Did spot the Deluxe yoghurts were from Lidl's, as I get these myself. For a cooked breakfast option, the egg (fried or scrambled) is cooked fresh for you. The female staff were spanish and good at clearing away items from table. The coffee is excellent. The tiered holder for all tiny pots of Tiptree jam, marmalade and chocolate sauce was sweet. And tiny pots of ketchup and HP sauce too! The room was very comfortable and clean. The windows kept the traffic noise very quiet. And it's a busy A road.

At breakfast, we had Room 2 and were sat at table 2. I would have liked to sit where we wanted. Which is a minor comment, but three days of viewing the same goat in a farmyard scene....

Nice looking building, with ample parking in front. Breakfast was good (not superb like some the reviews made it out to be), maybe a tad more variety wouldn't have hurt but the room where we had breakfast was beautiful. Beds were comfortable too.

Nothing major, mind you. Location is just ok, it's almost a 30' walk to the center of Chester, so not that great. The room was nice enough, but definitely on the small side, especially for 3 people. Not enough space to store our things or to move around.

Greeted by the friendly welcoming host. Shown to our room, talked through all facilities, breakfast etc. Wonderful walk in double shower, really comfortable bed in a bright airy room. Fabulous choice at the help yourself buffet breakfast. We had cooked, which was superb. Local farmers eggs were exceptional. The staff were friendly, professional and quick. Plenty of parking. Easy to get a bus into the city centre and back. And the weather was great!

The stairs to our room, I should have requested a ground floor room. I am disabled, walk with a stick, so stairs are slow and painful for me.

Breakfast - the lady who runs the breakfast room is very rude. 1st morning ok, 2nd morning arrived at 8:30, no space to sit so asked to come back. Did so 5 mins later, no bacon, fruit or yoghurts left. Asked for more only to be told there wasn’t any. Milk was off in coffee machine so couldn’t have a decent drink. Felt very rushed as it got to 8:55 & felt under pressure to leave by 9!!

The property was very clean and in an ideal location. The location is central to the zoo, city centre and Cheshire Oaks.

There was nothing about the property that we didn’t like.

Easy to find location. Plenty of parking. Room was a little cramped but had plenty of nice touches (mint on pillows, good range of refreshments, warm, excellent shower, comfy bed) Breakfast was excellent, big choice of food and drink and plenty of it :-)

Room was a little cramped, hairdryer was difficult to use as attached to wall on tight cable and mirror was too far away to use without a lot of manoeuvring. Owner was efficient although not overly friendly, he didn't engage in conversation and made me feel a little on edge

Excellent place to stay from arriving it was evident this establishment is well kept and maintained. Everything is a stones throw away and the accommodation in my opinion is faultless. Staff were friendly and inviting from checking it to checking out. Parking though a little snug was ideal as it's literally on the doorstep. Definitely recommend and if I'm ever over in Chester in the future I'd have no hesitation in booking here again.

One tiny gripe was the flashing standby light on the TV unit when we turned it off for the night. Ended up having to power it off at the socket but this was no real issue.

A christmas break in Chester made perfect by Chester Guest House. You walked through the front door and the smell of Christmas hit you. Everywhere was beautifully decorated.. real christmas trees! Immaculately clean... gorgeous fluffy towels.. bedding. Comfy beds! Delicious breakfast. We will come back next Christmas.

The ladies at breakfast were abit over zelous and we felt rushed. We went to breakfast 25 mins before it ended but no tables for 3 available so we had to wait. Got sat down with 10 mins to go so the second we all had a plate of food then packed up. Would of been nice to say would you like anything else before we pack up as not out fault there were no tables available for us. The talking in another language right by your table by cleaning up made us nervous... were they talking about us? Who knows.

Lovely room at the front of the house. Very comfortable double bed and a single. The usual kettle but also a mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast was served next door at the sister hotel and was very good, plenty of variety etc, but what made it great was the wonderful staff, especially Deena. The owner, Ray, was always about and someone always on reception should anything be needed or a question answering. My daughter and I had a great stay and we would definitely recommend staying here. It's a nice 20 minute walk to the centre of Chester too.

Nothing marred our stay.
