Never stayed in a pub before. It actually was quiet at night time no drunks loitering around our sleeping area. We could go back to our room after having a drink in the bar no need to get transport . It was football on the Sunday , hence pub was full. We did book a table for Sunday lunch which was reserved, staff did allow us to leave our cases in a secure room before and after check-in which was great. The pub was about a 15-20 min walk from the city centre , which kept us active , nice to see the scenery on the walk down .
Everything was pleasant, no complaints. I forgot to order breakfast when I ordered the room . My fault .

Very good breakfast that was prepared freshly & served by a friendly & helpful member of staff. The location of the pub/hotel is close enough to walk into the City centre within 15 minutes at a steady walking pace. Additional parking area at rear of pub/hotel was better for accessing the building with cases on wheels via a ramp. Nice outside space at rear of pub/hotel to sit out with a drink & watch live sports on a large screen.
The bedroom was quite warm, as the radiator had been left switched on by previous guests or cleaners, on what was already a warm summer's day. The hot water tap on the sink in the bathroom only ran cold water & the extractor fan was not working very effectively.

Our room was decorated nicely, kept very clean and the Superior Double sized room was very roomy. Staff very friendly both when checking in/out and when ordering breakfast and dinner. Food always arrived promptly, warm and 2 for 1 burgers on a Friday was very good value for money! Definitely would recommend staying here if you want a cheaper stay in Chester that ticks all the right boxes. Was a nice few days away and would stay again.
Mattresses could have been a bit softer for my liking and the communal parts by the rooms could have done with the decorating having a bit of a touch up. These were the only little niggles and they didn't take away from the overall pleasant stay.

We stayed here after a shopping day at Cheshire Oaks, we ate and stayed at the pub/hotel, it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We had the superior room number 7, it was huge, immaculately clean, comfy bed, great large bathroom, yes the windows are single glazed, so you do hear a little road noise but nothing that would keep you awake. It did get a little cold at night but they provide extra bedding etc if you need it. Emma the manager on site could not have done any more to make us feel so welcome, she is an absolute credit to the place. The food was good for our evening meal, and really reasonable, drinks prices are great too so not breaking the bank to have a nice evening. Breakfast was great, although there were no croissants, so they made us extra toast, and the water was only luke warm to make yourself a brew, but these are minor things, and did not effect our stay or experience. I experienced nothing that previous reviews have said (damp smell in hall, dirty towels etc) Definitely a great find.
A bit more choice at breakfast (continental side) The room did get a little cold at night

the staff here are all so lovely, 100% went out of there way to make our stay as comfortable and stress free as possible. me and my partner brought my little sister so we could attend Chester zoo today and didn’t have to do the trip all in one day. the hotel staff where brilliant, especially the women on the desk who checked us in(Emma) she was brilliant and also made sure to make us aware of the boxing on late and advised it could be a bit loud, there was a tiny bit of noise but it didn’t affect our stay. the room was lovely and massive for the 3 of us, so comfortable. the location was good as well with it taking us about 20 minutes to walk into Chester. came down for tea and had breakfast, both above what I would expect a pub to serve. can’t fault them! highly recommend, if we ever come back to Chester we will be staying here again!

The room was fine - small, but comfortable and clean. The bed was extremely comfy, with duvet, firm mattress, and multiple pillows. Bathroom great. Good shower, nice soap/shower gel. Nice clean kettle, good size cups, and plenty of tea/coffee. Breakfast was good, and a reasonable price. Staff were all friendly & welcoming and really helpful & responsive.
Some of the walls need re-painting - looks a little shabby in places (especially inside the bedroom). Also, there is no lift, so be prepared to carry your bags up a flight of stairs. Breakfast is served in the public bar, although not a problem early morning.

Everything was wonderful! It was in a great location, I couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was to travel to places such as the zoo, the city centre and north wales. The room was great value for money, the beds and pillows were comfy and it was super quiet. The breakfasts and evening meals were all fantastic and I wasn’t left disappointed. Every single member of staff was lovely, from the managers to the cleaning staff, everyone was friendly and went above and beyond in some way. I’m terrible with names but the male manager that checked us in, the female manager that checked us out and the member of staff (he worked Sunday and Tuesday evening) all deserve a shoutout for being great! I would absolutely stay here again! :-)
The ONLY thing I would say is that there wasn’t a bin in the room, but everything else was perfect.

We had an issue on night one, there was no hot water or heating. But the manager was on it, she sorted it , had to wait 3 hours for the engineers to arrive to sort the boiler. It wasn't nice being cold and not being able to shower after a day of travelling, but we ate in the pub and the hotel paid the food bill. Very nice gesture and much appreciated. The manager was only nine weeks into the job but a great lady with good customer relations skills well done to her. Food in the bar was good we'll prepared and warm and very reasonable priced. We booked in for breakfast and again the food was very good.
Shame about the expel air system in the bathroom window, it was broke , had holes in it which let in cold air, we showed to the manager she was unaware but I'm sure she will get it sorted. The girl on breakfast Saturday morning was stroppy not very helpful and was quick to us what we couldn't have even though we only wanted what we had the previous morning, she needs to work on her customer relations skills.

The staff were all lovely, very friendly, helpful and polite. Good value for money, including 20% voucher off our evening meal. Room basic but had everything you needed. Lovely breakfast. Great to have free parking with plenty of spaces. 15minute walk into Chester, or bus from almost right outside.
All could do with a bit of updating. Holes in some of the seats in the booths in the bar area. Tables need revarnishing. Bedroom and bathroom need a good lick of paint and windows could do with repair or replace. Bed wasn't very comfy at all, awful night sleep, woke with a bad back. Could possibly be due to the pillows too as they were very flimsy.

Comfortable bed. Rooms reasonable size and well equipped. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good car parking, well lit. Pricing for rooms sensible.
Had to wait short while at check in for manager to be free to book in. Booking in process little disorganised. We booked two adjacent rooms. One of them had blood stains on what should have been clean bath towel. Few cobwebs on ceiling. No non slip bath mat, you have to go ask at reception. Shower head full of scale so not spraying correctly. The hotel has no rooms with shower cubicle or walk in shower. Only shower over bath. Due to mobility issues two of us could not use shower. No spare toilet roll in bathrooms. Good food choices but two of us vegan and gluten free. They do some meals which are one or other but do not cater for both at once. So after long drive had to drive to a restaurant to eat.
