Central city position. Luxury of the room. Our room’s proximity to the lift for the car park.

Breakfast service. Very disorganised especially as everything was served (no self service for anything) and took ages to arrive. Lack of easily accessible public rooms or sitting area in the entrance hall except in front of desks. No coffee available when we arrived early. Good suggestion of cafe by receptionist for elsewhere. We went for an excellent breakfast at that cafe on the second morning despite having B&B paid for at the Grosvenor.

Great location, very comfortable beds and room in general, most of the staff lovely and accommodating.

The spa was closed for the three days we were there and we were not aware of this. It closes at 6pm on Monday and as we only checked in at 5pm we were not allowed in that evening and unfortunately it didn’t reopen until the Thursday so we didn’t get to use this. We also had a cot for our son but it was very small and he only just about fit in it (he’s 21 months), so just to be aware a slightly larger child would have struggled. Some of the Breakfast staff on the second morning were not particularly pleasant/quick - our son was fully fed and ready to go before our hot food order was even taken and the girl at the front of house was a little rude. The food was very good though and the rest of the staff were lovely, and I’d had a completely different experience on the first day.

Beautiful hotel, greeted by the concierge as we arrived, the room was a decent size with a lovely en-suite bathroom We found the room to be very warm and the air conditioning did not seem to work, I informed the girl on the front desk who arranged for two fans to be taken to our room which did help. Guests can choose items from the continental breakfast list: porridge, yogurt, fruit, pastries and toast or pay £12.50 for a cooked breakfast. We found the staff to be exceptionally polite and helpful and the location is great, right in the centre of Chester.

Temperature of the bedroom- definitely needed working air-conditioning!

Everything was really good. The room was a really good temperature and a good size. Staff throughout were very helpful and interested in making sure we had what we needed. Service at breakfast was fast and efficient.

At around 4.00am there was a lot of banging and crashing from the room above as if someone was jumping up and down on the floor, it felt like they were about to come through the ceiling! Appreciate that this was beyond the control of the hotel team but it was a shame this happened.

The building, the location, the restaurant and bar and the staff were lovely and the room itself was excellent, lovely mini bar and snacks 👍the first floor area esp the parlour room and the main staircase were exceptional. The bed was super comfortable and it was nice and quiet. I loved the doorbell outside the rooms...

Some areas were quite dated the tiles in the bathroom were old and in very poor condition, and the carpet of the landing of floor three was in need of a serious clean/upgrade.. I also felt the breakfast was slightly overpriced and there was no swimming pool

Very convenient location to be able to walk out straight onto the high street. We were celebrating my partner’s 70th birthday and were delivered of a delicious chocolate cake, a gesture much appreciated. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the delightful doorman, although generally the place seemed over-staffed. However, nothing was too much trouble when we asked for assistance with things.

We would have liked to have been able to open the window to get some fresh air but the aspect looked out to a very dingy area. The net curtains needed a good wash!

Our room was beautiful! And we got engaged there and bought our ring from Boodles which is just downstairs.

The cleaner who barged in and insisted on cleaning our room two minutes after we got back from Boodles because her break finished in twenty minutes. We had been out of the room for over two hours. It wasn’t ok. It ruined our private and intimate time together and shouldn’t have happened at a five star establishment. She told us three times she couldn’t make the bed or do x y or z because her shift ended. Not sure that we needed to know this.

Beautiful hotel in a superb location. Lovely large room and quiet. We had an awful view, but that did not matter, as the room was excellent and being on the side was incredibly quiet considering we were in the heart of Chester. Shops very close with a good selection and plenty of places to eat nearby. Parking in multi-storey car park behind the hotel was easy, especially with its own hotel entrance. Staff were lovely and helpful. Really recommend.

Breakfasts were disappointing. We kept the standard Buffet - but you could not select for yourself - everything was brought to your table, which made it very slow. Porridge was not great - lumpy and burnt! Fresh juice and coffees were very good, pastries and cereals all ok.

My partner said his cooked breakfast was excellent. The food was delicious each evening in the Brasserie. The bed was 6 feet wide and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The TV reception wasn't too good so we mentioned it to the receptionist and she said there was a problem which was being fixed. It was fine by the evening.,but unfortunately was poor again the following morning. As we were checking out that morning we didn't bother mentioning it again. The loo was very low!
