The hostel was very spacious and although full, never felt crowded. There were lots of different spaces for people to sit quietly or meet up with friends. There was a lift for taking luggage up to the room and the kitchen was very well equipped. The staff were very nice. Location was very close to the town so we were able to walk everywhere, though the walk back is up a big hill! Beds were comfy enough, the duvets were lovely and the shower was wonderfully powerful, though there isn’t an adjustable shower head so might be difficult for short people or children. We didn’t try the breakfast but it was very popular!

Bunkbeds were very squeaky and our two bed en-suite was the size of a box room so there was little space to move or put/store our things (only one small cupboard) when two people were in the room. Four bedded rooms we saw were proportionally bigger…our room would have been better as a single. Bathroom fan didn’t work and no window in bathroom.

10 mins walk seems a bit far in a small town but it's worth it. It has an observation deck that could enjoy the town view. Spacious dining area, I did buy my own food and enjoy the big glass window to view outside.

Although it's worth it to hike up to 10 mins to the hostel, be prepared for your food so that there is no need to go back to the town centre to do the shopping. Also, not really strong soundproofing, I can hear someone snoozing in the next room, and the kids were running and laughing on the next floor.

Basic but clean room with en-suite bathroom. Great games room and pool table room. Lovely dining area and kitchen with everything you could need for making drinks and hot food. Friendly and efficient staff. Close car parks. Wonderful views from the dining hall and top floor of the building.

All was fantastic, the only thing I could say was that our room was missing was a side board, table or shelf to put things on. It only had some very tiny cupboards on the wall.

Clean room, nice common spaces, working free wifi, bar and cafe open till 10pm,friendly staff. Working warm shower.the overalll YHA vibe. The location and the views

The strucrure is old and in need of modernisation . We came during a heatwave and the room (1st floor) was extremely hot yet we could not open the windom more than a tiny but. Bunk beds whobbly but solid. Cooked breafast not very generous (albwit it allows you to help ypurself with the continental breakfast). Not great coffee.

Great views and comfortable communal spaces. Kitchen was very well equipped and the cafe was great. Good location near to town and station. Pity about the hill you have to walk up to get there if you are on foot, but that's the price you pay for great views!

Pity there was no WiFi in rooms, but in communal spaces it was good The outside of the building and gardens could do with a bit more TLC, but inside was well kept

Love feel about the youth hostel. The family room was excellent. The kids loved the range of games available. The breakfast was good. The staff were very hardworking and welcoming, thank you. The proximity to the twin is great and lovely views of the hills and sea.

I felt the evening food/drinks was a little expensive for what it was. £4.95 for a beer. The breakfast and kids eating free was excellent. The bunk beds are extremely squeaky. I woke up every time someone turned over and I am a deep sleeper.

Good breakfast, pleasant and friendly staff, good location, comfy (but creaky) beds, good car parking availability

One of the ovens in the self serve kitchen did not appear to be working properly, took ages to heat small pizzas. Shower nice and powerful but fixed head meant flooding the floor when selecting ideal water temperature before entry to enclosure.

staff excellent and friendly, lots of stuff in the kitchen and plenty of tables to eat at.

shower didn't drain away so had to turn shower off partway through the shower to allow it to drain, did report after first night and it was looked at but the same in the shower the following morning. Top bunk had bit of debris on it.

The hostel has good facilities, the kitchen is big and has everything you need. There was even a restaurant next to the kitchen, where you could buy food and drinks all day. What I also really liked is that our four bed room had its own bathroom. The room was a bit old, but it was clean.

The location is really uphill, which may not be ideal if you are walking from the city center with luggage.

It was wonderful and very accommodating that staff allowed us to leave luggage in a safe place prior to official check in, while two family members rested in the garden and others went for a ramble. We were also thankful the staff gave us a room fan as the weather was unusually hot at night. The location was superb, in spite of it being at the top of a steeply inclined hill... Which made it have a wonderful view to the Bay in front and to the valley behind. We only wish our room had been able to capture more of that lovely breeze (windows can't be opened more than two inches--a safety measure). The self-catering kitchen was set up well , with ample refrigerators, microwaves and cook tops. In winter those ovens would have been used but summer fare needs light and fast. The staff loaned us a pocket map for the day when we were heading into the hills, good to have when deciding which sheep path to try, and where the national trail led to. It was a pleasure to see an entire school classroom of children (ages 7-8?) enjoying the hostel as it was large enough to accommodate them with plenty room to spare. Families and Groups are well rewarded in this location with easy mountain rambles as well as the castle/wall walk, the lovely town of Conwy and the beaches within a mile, and more shops, restaurants and the pier walk a short bus ride into Llandudno. Overall an excellent experience.

No complaints here other than a wish that workmen/volunteers would come to the aid of the exterior painted surfaces, especially in the back garden. A worthy facility that deserves care.
