Beautiful location with stunning scenery. As it’s a golf course, the grounds are immaculate and even if you don’t play it’s quite nice to sit outside and enjoy the views from the stylish seating areas. We were here for 2 nights in June in the bridal suite. We got married an hour or so away (didn’t realise you could actually get married at Welbeck Manor!). I would recommend looking into the weddings there as the setting is so good and the decor inside is fabulous. The bridal suite is special. Huge room with ensuite shower and toilet. Huge freestanding bath in the suite which is made for two and the most comfy bath I think I’ve ever been in. The furniture is very French and classical but done in a modern way and the lighting has been well thought out practically as well as being opulent. It’s so peaceful here and the suite has a private outside Juliette type balcony/terrace from which to admire the views especially from the huge bed and bath. Plenty of towels which were replenished daily with housekeeping refreshing the room during our stay. When leaving to go get married the staff came to wish us luck and promised a nice dinner awaited us when we returned. Starving and tired after a long day we returned to be greeted again by the staff offering their congratulations. We were told to come down whenever we were ready and we were given a lovely table, free bubbly and the best burger and chips I’ve ever eaten. The food here is sublime. Breakfast had been eggs Benedict, a real treat and a dish I’d ordered only a few weeks before at the legendary Ivy Restaurant. As delicious as The Ivy was, Welbeck Manor eclipsed this in every way. Truly special meals served with care and utterly delicious.
As much as we would highly recommend a stay here as prices go, it’s slightly more pricy than the average and some simple maintenance to the general outside appearance like a fresh coat of paint on facade and some minor snagging issues as well as the rear carpark area being better lit and less obscured from the hotel. Only small things all round but we thought just would justify the cost a little bit more.

Room only - electricity wasn't working on arrival in our room. The Staff didn't hesitate to move us to another room. The other room happened to be a lovely upgrade to a family suite. My daughters were over the moon and want to stay again! Nothing wrong with the first room - from what I saw in the dark! Lovely courtyard room in nice setting.
Arriving in thick fog wasn't fun but this is no reflection on the hotel whatsoever. Would book again and stay longer. Only stayed for one night.

Our whole experience at the hotel was exceptional and we would thoroughly recommend staying there. It is a beautiful building which has been decorated to a very high standard. There are quirky additions throughout the hotel too. The bedding and towels were top quality. We had an excellent meal and breakfast in the restaurant and the prices were very reasonable. A huge thank me you Scarlett for telling us the history of the building and for giving us excellent recommendations for visiting Plymouth, she is a true star. All the staff were welcoming and this created a warm atmosphere throughout, thank you to everyone.
Nothing, it was perfect.

The bedroom was very relaxing (great lighting and interiors). The bedding was very clean and luxurious. Room temperature was perfect. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. A tasteful selection of coffee and tea within the room. Truly excellent stay. The Breakfast tasted amazing and the restaurant was extremely classy. Polite and efficient staff.
The reception was a little cluttered, however to be fair it did look like it was being decorated. This really is me nit picking as the stay was brilliant.

*Amazing breakfast - nice vegetarian option! *Big bathroom and bedroom *Amazing view of the golf course *Very quiet and peaceful *Near Dartmoor Zoo - literally a 5mins drive or 10-15 mins walk (which is why we stayed at the Manor) *Our room was very clean when we arrived *Good location from a big Sainsburys and a leisure park (Nandos, Pizza Hut, Cinema, Bowling, Bella Italia and more)
*Bathroom was really cold - could provide us with some slippers or even put a rug or get the towel heater to work *Bathroom has no handwash in the bathroom which is a bit worrying especially during covid (luckily we had bought some with us) *Our room was not cleaned (and towels not replaced) on the 2nd day of our stay which was a little bit inconvenient *Breakfast didn't have many options but still good *Could hear a lot of stomping from guests (we were on the first floor) so maybe there should be signs for "quiet / no stomping" at night or early morning could be a thing!

This is a country Manor House with all the character you would expect. It is an independent hotel so the staff and owners were all very attentive to our needs. One of the owners introduced himself at breakfast and had a chat which was really nice as you don’t generally have that personal touch in most hotels. The waitresses in the restaurant were super accommodating and nothing was a problem. The food was really good and a good selection for breakfast.

beautiful rooms in lovely location. Food very good
Not any criticism of the staff , as they were all trying their best . When we stayed , the 2 girls serving restaurant it was their first night , running around like headless chickens ( no instruction of how to manage tables etc ) No manager to be seen , also in morning one girl serving breakfast, and manning reception. I don’t know who owns this beautiful hotel , but think they need to be more hands on , and treat staff with respect.

Lovely atmosphere. Professional and friendly staff. Good, quiet location. Good views from the dining room out over the golf course.
We had a courtyard room which we found small. We would have preferred cotton bed linen rather than the polycotton provided. There was also no view from the room plus only one chair in the room. We mentioned this to a senior member of staff and she took our concern on board.

Beautiful room with exceptionally comfy bed - lovely facilities in the room with nice bathroom products. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate options were just perfect. Exceeded my expectations for space and tranquility. Food quality and service for my evening meal was wonderful and breakfast was divine - I highly recommend the porridge! Lovely character property in a remote and tranquil location.
The sat nav didn't recognize the location (there is a warning about this on the website!) which meant an interesting loop around some extremely narrow lanes. All part of a trip to Devon!

The staff were all wonderful, the room allowed dogs which was great, comfy bed, good sized room. We choose it specifically because it advertised as a dog friendly hotel and as our first time taking the dog with us this was a wonderful experience. We had breakfast the next day and that too was a wonderful experience, great value for money and lovely range of food options. Beautifully presented and really enjoyable.
