The staff were so lovely and helpful, I was not happy about the room I was allocated and every effort was made to help me which I really appreciated. We ended up having a new and improved room at no extra charge. Thankyou to Lisa for being so very attentive and kind. Breakfast was ok nothing special but always with a friendly word and a smile. The afternoon tea was amazing! Warm giant scones, local Devonshire cream and delicious strawberry jam! It would be better to include other types of coffee in the price as had to pay extra for a cappuccino. I had a chicken and warm mushroom salad one evening and it was out of this world!! I could eat it again and again! Jaccuzzi bath in the room was a lovely wind down after a day of exploring View from the room was so peaceful and the grounds made great walks for my tiny dog. Bed was sooo comfy and cosy and I slept really well which is unusual for me in hotels normally I had a back massage in the spa and although pricey £40 for 25 minutes it was exceptionally good. Again the staff were so professional and kind.

Some of the photos on the website don't really match what is experienced, the pool area and spa facilities mainly. Pool area was outdated. Room cleaning not brilliant - I stayed for 4 nights and didn't get fresh towels or new toiletries, plus there was a dirty bin and the toilet was dirty when I arrived.

Very nice and quite environment. Excellent base for outings in Devon as well as Cornwall. Rooms are larger than average in a hotel. Almost no noise from neighbours. The swimming pool and 2 restaurants are great added values.

Hygiene could be better: in the bathroom we found a hairpin from a previous guest and in one of the beds a dirty tissue. Hot water didn´t seem to work in the shower, but we used the bath instead.

One night stay wish it was longer and already planning our next trip! The staff were beyond accommodating and our room was beautiful, celebrating wife's birthday and they put petals on the bed and upgraded our room so we had a bath tub! We had our evening meals and breakfast the morning of our departure. The desert was one of, if not the best deserts I have ever had! We both had a spa treatment (neck, shoulder, back massage) that was amazingly relaxing and a great start to our day continuing the birthday celebrations! Location, in beautiful surrounding countryside, yet not far from Plymouth. Good room, comfortable bed, adequate en-suite for our needs. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Attended a wedding here which was very well planned and facilitated.

Breakfast seemed disorganised to me. had to ask for coffee/tea, which was duly delivered. But did not bring milk, so had to ask again. Prepared eggs had run out and had to ask for more. Staff at breakfast did not appear to be very motivated and, from my experience, did not appear happy to be asked for something. Just an observation.

I often work with clients in Plymouth and I would not stay anywhere else other than the Elfordleigh Hotel. What I love about this hotel is the quality of the food, the friendliness of staff, the cleanliness of my room and other facilities, the superb spa facilities and the surrouindings. It is located right next toa beatufil golf course. My work requires me to fully concentrate throughout the days and when I return after a long day at Elfordleigh, I can always successfully unwind and recharge my batteries and start all over again on the next day with enthusiasm. I would highly recommend this hotel should you need a relaxing stay!

The upgrade was given without us asking for it. Amazing big room and clean. With huge bath & Shower. (Which was hot). Comphy beds and big TV. The view was across the golf course. So pretty and well kept. Nice and quiet. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and the lattes! Prices were fair. We used the spa which was clean and the pool was lovely. (Not cold) Jacuzzis were really powerful and hot. (Which helped my bad back). Towels were given, so didnt need to use ours. My husband played good golf which he enjoyed. We only stayed one night. Will be bring back a large party of golf friends for another break! Perfect Thank you.

The golf buggies could have been cleaned up. Looked a bit tired. But worked OK.

Hotel was easy to find and no problem with parking. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Had a tasty bar snack in the evening and breakfast was awesome. The cooked food was super hot which we like. Leisure facilities were fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Members and guests were very friendly. We had a quick walk round some of the grounds which seemed really peaceful.

Only comment would be possibly slightly more choice on bar menu although there was a main restaurant but we just needed quick meal.

The location was excellent with far reaching view of the golf course. The food in the main restaurant was excellent although the one meal we had in the bar was cold!! The spa facilities were very good with a lovely pool sauna steam room and jacuzzi. We did not have any of the treaments that were available but the areas looked lovely.

The bar rood could have been better, I did inform a staff member that the food was cold but she never came back to us which was disappointing. This was our only issue with our stay.

Every member of staff we encountered (including housekeeping and grounds keepers) greeted us in a cheerful and friendly manner. We had a spa treatment, 2 breakfasts, one 3 course dinner and an afternoon tea during our stay and each meal was delicious, beautifully presented and the waiting staff all went over and above to provide exceptional service. The decor was modern and classy, the hotel was immaculately clean and well kept as were the grounds, we had a great view of the picturesque golf course. Our spa treatments were very enjoyable and all the spa staff were just as friendly, helpful and professional as all the other staff. We got the feeling that the staff must all be well treated as they all seemed genuinely happy. The spa facilities were all well presented and in condition. I'll definitely be back!

There's nothing I'd change. It was a fantastic break.

The property is lovely and smart and clean. The room and bathroom were big and spacious. basic tea and coffee facilities, separate shower aswell as a bath with a shower head. We were in room 9, at the end of a corridor. It was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was ideal as everything was out ready , basic but plenty enough there.

I can’t fault the property. the only niggles were that the room said it had 1 double and 2 single beds. The double was 2 singles pushed together, one that dipped in the middle and was then lower than the other side & there were 4 of us but only 2 big towels & 2 hand towels & the bin came apart whilst we were holding it which was heavy and landed on my daughter’s foot.
