The hotel is located a short walk from the ferry terminal . The bathroom was top class.The quality of the breakfast was good when it finally arrived at the table (Most of the time it was just a young lad taking the orders and bringing them into the breakfast room including the orange juice, cereals , tea , coffee and toast - no buffet style here )

Nice views from the front, comfortable beds, tv in the rooms, nice staff. A nice hotel .

You could do with a signpost from the main road. Murder to get into it as it’s all one-way in and out. The entrance from the road is like a small road and past you before you know it and you need to turn to try and get in again. There are still stairs to navigate in the lower half of the hotel if you want to sit in the garden so keep this mind . Restaurant will not open if the deem there is not enough guests staying.

Fantastic location, nice hotel, great rooms, lovely view. We liked the meandering corridors and little stair flights, but it might not be to everyone’s taste. We had 2 rooms, ours was a king with a huge bay window facing out over the beach and the West Bay looking towards Arran, the other was a double also with a sea view. There was also a lounge and a function room (with a balcony) which we were free to use and our relatives came to spend time with us there in the evening.

Worst weather in a decade picked our weekend to arrive 🤣 Next time we’ll ask for rooms closer together.

The location was great, sitting outside listening to nothing but the waves 🌊, not too far to walk to town. Staff ver very friendly and helpful and always had a pleasant greeting for you.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but other guests letting their doors slam shut at night, no consideration for others. NOT the hotels fault. Would have preferred to have been on first floor as a single female traveller, not on ground floor. All n all it was a very pleasant stay.

Good location directly on to seafront promenade. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Nice views from lounge out over the garden and to sea.

No evening meal at this hotel meaning a rrferral to another hotel was needed but it was very quiet with very few in lounge through evening.

Firstly, staff were lovely. Can't beat a place that a team clearly has a good bond - I love that sht. Restaurant looked amazing but again I never really had time to go. Bar had great options, again no time to go though except when I bought a can of juice, pricing was pretty much hotel standard. Very clean, very accessible. The view from the bottom floor room was lovely out over the west bay. The room was a little narrow but enough room for 2 people to spread out their things and the table by the bay window was a great place to sip coffee in the morning. Easy to walk to downtown and to the passenger ferry. Nice fenced in yard between the hotel and the pedestrian promenade along the waterfront that was a great place to sit out and drink a beer on a warm afternoon.

Wish the rooms were a little wider and the bathroom had a walk in shower but overall it was great.

Fantastic location and a perfect room with a stunning sea view. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make my mum’s birthday very special. The meals were delicious and the entertainment and Scottish evening provided a most enjoyable time for guests to gather and share a memorable time together. It was a wonderful holiday and the warm friendly welcome, comfortable, clean and well appointed accommodation and excellent service provided at every level made for an extra special break in this beautiful part of Scotland.

Only 5 mins walk from the foot passenger ferry terminal. Ideal setting right on the esplanade thus the name lol. Positioned perfectly for lovely walks and always people walking with or without dogs say hello. The hotel itself is wonderful and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. Breakfast and dinners are great as is the overall service, very friendly. I booked 3 nights but ended up staying 4 and have already booked another week in September, can't wait.
