Lovely location, close to a lovely restaurant we ate at, a small Tesco, a shopping centre behind the hotel, the train station and the Christmas market. Delicious hot breakfast options delivered to your table and great hot drink options to go with it. Lovely waterfall shower and TV at the end of the bed. Great size room compared to most, and we got to the hotel early and stored our luggage - this was brought up to our room for us when it was ready and we were out. We were also able to store our luggage after check out, ready to grab when we were on our way back to the train station later in the day.

We noticed the room could use a little touch up where there are some cracks in the walls and marks on the floor where the TV stand has been pulled away from the bed. Also found there was a lack of plug sockets in the room. The bed felt quite firm compared to last time we stayed in the same room in 2020 and it was two single mattresses pushed together, where last time it was one big lovely spongy mattress. The pillows were way too soft this time too so we woke up a few times during the night. All things considering, it's still a better room than most hotels we've stayed at in Edinburgh.

Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. The hotel is well situated to visit the centre of Edinburgh.

The beds and the first room (215). We specifically booked a room with a kingsize bed. Although according to staff the first room we got was a "kingsize room", the bed wasn't kingsize. On top of that at 01.00 am the air conditioning in the room really made a terrible noise, which made me almost call reception. Just before I was dressed to do so the noise stopped. This issue seemed to be known, as ear buds had already been made available. The next day we got another room which should have a kingsize bed. The room was okay but but again the bed wasn't kingsize. Apparently the hotel has no kingsize beds. If that's the case, please do not offer the option.

Very friendly receptionist speaking fluent Spanish & English and extremely helpful providing information with a map to get the maximum out of our 1 day visit. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, totally exceeded expectations. We also appreciated the minibar with items at no cost. The location is ideal with a great pub (good dinner/lunch) next door, walking distance to the tram that runs frequently and takes you in 25 min to the airport, and very close to all sights. The breakfast was excellent, very tasty, and a combination of buffet with freshly cooked breakfast a la carte.

The only comments we have is that the heating was not working in the room, I notified the evening receptionist when we left, but it did not get fixed when we got back. Not a big deal, but this is the reason why I don't give this a 10.

The staff and the location of the hotel were excellent. The breakfast was good although the breakfast room wasn't always adequate for the number of guests

Our room was on the ground floor at the back and was very dark. If we hadn't come up on the sleeper train and had no sleep I would definitely have asked to be moved. The bathroom door had glass panels which meant the bedroom was flooded with light when you used it in the middle of the night. In the Indigo in Cardiff there is a smallighf under the sink sufficient for nightime trips!

We loved this hotel & the staff made us feel very welcome. Having stayed at another IHG hotel in Dundee we knew we were in safe hands, & we were not disappointed. Our room was lovely - bright, spacious & spotlessly clean. IHG are masters at keeping the character of the location & the original features of the rooms & presenting them in a modern way with colour & quirky touches - wallpaper, artwork etc. Bed was very comfortable too. Location was perfect, very near the bus station & short walk to Prince's St & shops etc. The staff were excellent, providing great service across the board. We had an issue with our TV (during World Cup) & the matter was dealt with immediately & in time for big match the next day - very happy husband! Breakfast was wonderful, with great choice of quality fare & hot & cold options - cheerful, friendly staff to serve you - what more could you ask for? This will be our 'go to' hotel in Edinburgh from now on. Thank you Hotel Indigo!

Nothing - perfect for us.

Stayed for 2 nights in Giraffe Suite and it was amazing ! The package included bus and zoo tickets which was fab! Stewart and his team were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable . A complimentary glass of fizz on arrival was very much appreciated as well as upgrading us to the suite for the 2 nights . We highly recommend this package for all giraffe lovers ! U won’t b disappointed 😁

There was nothing to not like !

Close to St Andrews square, start of bus tours route.

Nothing really to grumble, if your room was on the front it is by a major tram route that runs all night, could hear it a little at the back but didn’t affect sleep.

Everything was as we expected (as we read the comments for others contributors): the staff were very nice and professional, the breakfast very well organized, the room ( not too much space, but perfect for travelers staying 3 days to discover the city ). We were surprised for the minibar from the house ( with water , beverages , cofee , tea & sweets). Also, the very nice staff ( including the manager - being there in the reception exactly when was needed): we ask to have an early breakfast (7o’clock sharp) and the staff served us exactly as we ordered (in the evening) , which was very much appreciate! Thank you !

The noise of the tram ( but we knew from the beginning) and the staff try to covered this discomfort)

Location was perfect for us, really central but quiet too, literally no noise coming from outside at all! Bed was comfy and had air conditioning which was much appreciated as we like it cool at night. Lady on reception was friendly on arrival and there was a nice ambience in the lobby/bar.

I felt it wasn't maybe as clean as it could be which was a pity. Just the little things like a stain on the bed runner(which is removed anyway) and on the floor in the bathroom. Room was very small but for price paid, it was acceptable.

The room was a great size for two people! It was very clean and loved the snack options. Breakfast was great and offered plenty of options. Weird thing I did love was the umbrella rental at the front door. We needed those umbrella's a few times. Front Desk team also booked a taxi to pick us up at 5:15am for our flight. The location was centrally located so you could walk to the complete other side of Edinburgh within 20-30 minutes.

Our keys didn't work when we initially got to the room so that was annoying when you're wet and tired, but that was easily fixed. There were some features in the room that weren't really explained. For example, there was a volume button in the bathroom. No clue what it did? Maybe music played through the speaker, but who knows what that was attached to. I also wish the bathroom door did not have frosted windows because any time I or my sister needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night the person sleeping would wake up due to the light.
