Good breakfast, helpful waiters.

Not enough storage space in the room. There was no ramp leading from the pavement to the hotel reception. One of my family has mobility problems and the lack of disabled access was a problem. Also there was no porter to help although another staff member did kindly help.

Location is very good and the rooms are very nice with lovely modern bathrooms and a very comfy bed.

They appear to have changed the times for cleaning your rooms to between 12pm-6pm which was a little inconvenient as sometimes we returned to the hotel at 4.30pm to rest, shower and change to go out for the evening and the room hadn't been done so we had to sit outside until it was cleaned. Tbh when I'm away I do want my bed to be made and have clean towels etc and everyday my room was cleaned between 4.30pm-5.30pm

The only problem was that the bar was poorly staffed when we came in after queuing to see our Queen at rest we fancied a night cap . There was no one on the bar and a man in a wheelchair waiting . Overall though superb room and location

Staff your bar

We were through in Edinburgh for Jimmy Carr performance at the playhouse. The hotel is two doors down from the playhouse. The location is great and a lot around. The rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable. The check in was quick and easy.

The only thing we didn’t like was that housekeeping came into our room twice, once last night while we were getting ready for dinner and once when we were sleeping this morning. Which we found strange because it was outwith the housekeeping hours.

it was lovely and modern inside but fit on perfectly with its historic Edinburgh setting on the outside. the beds were super comfortable and the room had all the facilities we could want. The free wifi was great and very reliable. The staff were all lovely too.

Although it is a lovely place and has great facilities, we paid over double what we usually would to stay in a busy city and don’t think the facilities/ experience was twice as good as we are used to so couldn’t completely say it was value for money. Also breakfast was ok but some of the hot food looked like it had been sat there for quite a long time and the pastries were all quite squashed.

Stayed here for three nights for the edinburgh christmas markets. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern space. Bedroom was lovely, clean and spacious. Very close to main attractions such as the markets, about a ten minute walk to the high street with lots of tours and shops. We didnt avail of breakfast or dinner in the hotel restuarant but got room service and the food was of good standard. Would recommend for a reasonably priced getaway in a more modern hotel.

They had a few shelves for snacks and drinks and toiletries at the reception. We thought this was more of a shop but just to be aware of thats what your expecting and very expensive 3euro for a can of 7up. Because we went in December it was -7 degrees in the city and out heating broke, however recpetion sent someone to fix it and provided a portable heater in the meantime

The hotel is very well located: restaurants, theater, shopping center, and public transportation are all around the corner. The room has a good size (not too small) and the breakfast is good. Wifi is also good. We had dinner at the pub next to the hotel and the food was very good (rum steaks). We also had dinner at the Indian restaurant (Passage to India) which was delicious. We wanted to have dinner at the Italian, but it was fully booked.

The bed is a bit too soft and the carpet in our bedroom is stained. Thankfully the hotel provided some slippers so we were pleased. There are lots of roadworks around the hotel so that was a minus, but there is nothing they can do about it.

The room was okay, for an up-grade I was expecting a bit more. The breakfast was very disappointing. Again for the money I was expecting a bit more but was on par with a very popular lower end hotel chain where actually I would say there's was better than the Marriot's :(

Room was at the end of a busy corridor, not what I expected for an up-grade. No bath, only a poor volume of water shower. Breakfast choices was minimal. The extra chef cooked options were poor and the requested fried egg was cooked within an inch of it's life after chasing down a server to take the initial order, having waited ages.

th eroom was spacious but the pillows were very soft for my linking as I need to sleep sitting up for health and never received the extra pillows I asked for at receiption.

the breakfast opions were only look warm and at no point did any member of staff advise on on how to order the options that were available from the memu. i.e. porridge. there were no plates available when going to what should have been hot food and needed to wait nearly 10minutes on these arriving
