Lots of attention to detail, excellent service. Great location.

Although decorated to a high standard and very opulent as a luxury boutique style hotel should be the lighting was way too dark for me - think Holister! Beds were comfy but frustrating they are built into the wall so annoying having to climb over your partner to get out. Lots of lovely touches with coffee machine and TV mirror etc.

I love how different this hotel is, the interior and decor is incredible and so well thought out. The staff were amazing, so so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the treat me like I’m famous package, it was a perfect extra touch for my boyfriend’s birthday and they even left a card. The location is just off the royal mile so it was perfect! They also have a bar which has immaculate vibes also.

The room is slightly small which we were aware of upon booking from reading reviews. This wouldn’t stop me from staying again though, it’s okay for a short trip and the hotel makes up for it in character.

What an excellent spot. The hotel is like something out of Moulin Rouge set. This is a small, concept hotel with cabins and suites. If you're after a lush, chain-style hotel with loads of facilities, this is not it. If you're after something that really screams to be photographed with a great deal of rock and roll vibes and fun, this is it. Breakfast gets served in a hamper, delivered to your door, and waits for you on a little barstool. They have some fun extras that you can order to make the stay a festive one. I was here for the Ed Fringe, which is close to many venues. Rooms are cleverly laid out with flowers, espresso devices and attention details that make you feel special. I had the smallest possible room, and yet it was perfect.

There is no breakfast buffet, so you need to be organised and order your breakfast in advance. There is also no restaurant on site, but that's not a problem as you're in the heart of the old part of town with loads of options. I had a small cabin; it came with a small bathroom.

Great location in the Cowgate. Old town, Grassmarket, Royal Mile all within 2 min walk. Lots of nearby attractions, pubs, cafes, restaurants. Great decor and atmosphere. Think ‘Lazlo’ WWDITS. Super helpful and friendly staff. Good value especially as we stayed during the Fringe when everywhere is extortionate normally. Not so HOGS.

Not a dislike but parking not great. We didn’t require any as Edinburgh is a city best suited for exploring on foot or the excellent cheap public transport

The location of the hotel being situated only a short walk from the Royal Mile is excellent and the rooms are very opulent and well thought out. The staff were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful.

The only negatives we had was the size of the rooms. Although well thought out the rooms are very small as are bathrooms. The shower and toilet are within a foot of each other so after a shower the bathroom is more like a swimming pool than a bathroom. The style of beds are cabin beds, so they are surrounded on 3 sides meaning if someone wants out of the bed it becomes a bit of wrestling match to get in & out of the bed.

The House of Gods is a wonderful and sexy little spot. It looks like a lovely little speakeasy that has all the bells and whittles of old school charm and gothic victorian elegance. The rooms are fully decked out with four poster bed and red LED light to set the mood and tone. The large drapes and heavy bedding made it so comfortable. We only stayed a night but they let us bring our bags in early until our room was available and brought them up to our room. Also, for an additional 10 pounds sterling each, we got breakfast delivered the next morning, got a welcome glass of mimosa and got milk and cookies, great deal! We will definitely be back.

The one thing I didn't like was the room is so small, even for two people it was extremely hard to maneuver around. We also used one of our big towels to wipe up the bathroom room as the shower is open to the rest of the bathroom. There is a shower curtain but the floor gets all wet.

Staff were superb, welcoming and helpful. The prosecco on arrival was a lovely touch. The bar is cozy , perfect for a winter getaway. The little unique touches are nice and the decor is very opulent. It was so quiet, didn't hear a thing all night, TV has good movie options Netflix/Prime and the minibar is well stocked should you want nibbles late on. There is a cookies & milk request service after 9pm, and the shower was fantastic. A lot packed in to a very small space.

The room was very small, ( previous reviews did state this so we knew they wouldn't be huge) albeit well laid out. After a while the darkness feels a little oppressive with no openable window (the room we had) and we were glad to get some fresh air in the morning. For 1 night it was fine though and a nice unique experience.

The ambiance of the hotel is opulent, moody, and plush. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, while our luggage was stowed away for us. We instantly felt welcome. The rooms are decked out in velvet, wood and marble with lots of gold accents and ambient lighting. It made our stay memorable.

It would be helpful if the shower had a little threshold, barrier, or a channel drain, separating the shower stall and the rest of the bathroom so that the water wouldn't flow all over the bathroom floor during showering. It would make for an infinitely better experience not having to step onto a cold, wet marble when using the toilet or a sink after a recent shower.

From the first moment we have arrived, we have been welcomed with nice and warm staff. The hotel looks dark, but eventually, you can get used to it. Decor and overall have been really nice. The room has been small, but cosy. I couldn't believe how everyone has been eager to help and even with last minute request. We have come over only for a night, with last-minute booking. Bed has been the comfiest I have slept in a while, room had air-conditioning and cute made up window, which havent been an issue as curtains are really heavy and your room can become pitch black. At the morning I have texted guys if we could get breakfast to bed, again last minute order and they have been so nice about it and with no hessitation gave us a little cute basket with a loads of goodies. Everything has been high quality, and I would expect a higher price for it. However, the bill has been reasonable for the quality you get. I would love to stay there and never leave 💗

Absolutely loved this hotel, the staff, the welcome, attention to detail. Also the decor was beautiful! Special mention to our bartender who made us some fantastic cocktails and was so friendly and also to the other male member of staff who greeted us and showed us to our room and made sure we were ok (so sorry we don't remember their names 🙈😩)

The ONLY thing we would suggest (and this is us being very picky) is that the exterior of the hotel didn't quite match the interior with regards to the quirky style/aesthetic but this is not a criticism at all, just a mild suggestion
