Friendly and welcoming, in a very handy location for Barnard Castle. Very pet friendly too, even providing a bed, feeding mat, bowl & some treats for our dog (there was a small charge for having him with us). Great breakfast included in our family room rate, which made it really good value.
WiFi didn't work in our room (although to be fair we didn't go and ask if they could sort it).

What a little gem this place is. Beautiful room, clean, comfortable, cozy and had everything that you needed. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows were just right. Food at the inn was lovely and there was a good choice. Breakfast was fabulous. Lots to choose from and good quality ingredients. Best food I had eaten at all of the (more expensive) hotels that we stayed in on our trip. Services was impeccable and hosts were so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will be staying here again when traveling through to Scotland next.
There wasn't anything that I did not like.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was great and even tho Book.com got our children's ages wrong the own was still OK for us to stay and we just paid the extra for them to have breakfast. It is a nice little bed and breakfast even though you are right next to a dual carriage way you don't hear the traffic at all and we had our bedroom window open all night. The room we stayed in was beautiful with plenty of room for all your clothes with a wardrobe, dressing table, 2 bed side tables, small table with 2 chairs, bunk beds for the kids and a double bed and a kettle with tea, coffee and bottles of water in your room. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to family and friends.

This is a great hotel situated right beside the A66 trunk road. Really easy to find since you literally just pull off the main road into the car park. Lots of space in the car park, in fact you can park right by the dor. Staff were lovely on arrival, checked our booking, booked us in for dinner and then showed us to our room. Room was on the ground floor, very spacious and well decorated and immaculately clean. After a visit to the now very famous Barnard Castle which is only a short drive away it was back to the hotel for dinner. Great food at a very reasonable price, served in the bar area, it's a bar area you feel really comfortable in and could sit for hours. One thing that has to be mentioned is that I'm sure most people will think that your room will be affected by the road noise since you are so close to the main road, you really can hear it, we were expecting it to be noisy, it isn't, even when outside it isn't!
They have go this spot on, there isn't anything that we didn't like. the thing that I expected to write hear was the expected noise from the road, that though is just not there.

Very welcoming stopover conveniently located right on the A66. Comfortable quiet room. Very dog friendly. Flexible and helpful owner - made us up a takeaway breakfast as we were off early. Good food menu. A little pricey but no different to most places these days so understandable.
All was good really - nothing negative.

The location was perfect for us as it was close to the main road so easy to stop on our way down from Scotland. The view was still very nice. The rooms were comfortable and quiet despite being next to a main road. The food was delicious. The playground for the children was perfect to allow them to let off some steam after a day in the car. The staff also brought out some toys when we were having dinner which kept them entertained. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The rooms were a bit on the warm side. A minor thing was that they didn’t have a cot, which was surprising as they had toys, a baby changing station, high chair, etc. We brought our own, which was fine.

Great location on the A66 for an overnight stay. There were one or two minor omissions, but for what I paid the room was very comfortable, en suite with a decent shower, and exceptional value for money. Also a great job returning my laptop power lead to me, which I had inadvertently left on the floor and left without it!
Breakfast was a tad disappointing in that the sausage (I presume cooked from frozen) was totally tasteless - the breakfast would have been better with an extra rasher of bacon instead of the sausage. Coffee was also instant, or a very weak filter version, otherwise everything was fine at breakfast. There was no information in the bedroom about facilities, opening times etc, and no password for the wifi (by the time I realised, it was too late to ask). Fire exit instructions were hand drawn and badly faded, and taped onto the side of the wardrobe.

We used the Rokeby Inn as a stop over between Cairnryan ferry and home. Very convenient on the A66 and despite this the room was very quiet. Comfortable family room with plenty of room and nice and clean. We had an evening meal in the pub which was very good and breakfast was also very nice.
Unfortunately there was a slight damp smell in the room
