Nice hotel in the middle of the main street.we went for a Premium Room -room 3. We found free parking nearby and the hotel has a few spaces at the back. Nice staff. Big room. Power shower. Views of the market outside the front window in the first floor. We were attending a wedding so did not try the free basic breakfast, opting for a full English 5 doors. away.

The stair carpet is in need of a refresh, as was the carpet in the room. The bed was firm but comfy. It was all fine for us as we wanted a decent bed and shower close bang in the centre. The market set up on Saturday very early wax noisy, they do provide ear plugs, we just shut the window. Didn't bother us at all.

The effort made with the interior design was good and the space in the rooms with two separate bedrooms with wall divide, gave a feel of being in a private flat. Rooms clean & comfortable. Had a quiet private breakfast. The self serve basic continental, cereal & fruit breakfast, juice & hot drinks, covered needs, & made a healthier option than available outside hotel. Free car parking at back of hotel. Manager viewed, checked our car was parked in free safe place.

View from windows front & back expected, but due to not having a river view, in middle of town, the room could have been priced a bit lower. Would have preferred English breakfast teabags instead of PG signature blend 😊

The property was right in the centre of town - it’s a great location. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much hassle. They helped us with parking, getting a bottle of water before bed (after we came back from a wedding), directions, service in the bar with food and drink (which is so good by the way) and just anything we needed really. The shower was really good, very powerful with plenty of good sized towels. I’m not a small person and hate when the towel covers nothing! I wasn’t sure what the sound would be like being above a pub, but you honestly couldn’t hear anything from downstairs.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but I suppose it’s good to be aware there are steps up to the room. Also, parking for the hotel is minimal but they will try to help you get a space (first come first served) if not there is a long stay car park locally.

Fabulous location, just up the road from great restaurants. The room was beautiful and spacious for four, particularly liked the internal door between the twin beds and double. The staff were amazinggggg! Genuinely nice people, we felt welcomed and comfortable and even stayed downstairs in the pub for a few drinks when we returned from our evening out. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return to the Lady Elizabeth and my daughter wants to return with her partner. A nice part of the world with nice people.

Continental breakfast was included which was very welcome but a few more pastries/selection would have been nice but there was a good range of cereals and juices.

Firstly, the staff made me feel very welcome on my arrival and allowed me to stow my luggage before my room was ready. The ambience is relaxed which is to be expected when staying above a pub. There was music up 'til about 11.15pm, however, I was advised of this when I checked in and is to be expected at a pub on a weekend. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well. It was nice to have a view over the market square from my room too.

Parts of the room and the bathroom looked a little tired. Very clean but needing a freshen up decor wise.

The staff were excellent and sorted any problems I encountered. Comfy bed, soft towels and hot water.

The building is very old and a bit quirky but that probably added to the ambience. Perhaps a toaster and bread rather than croissants, especially during cold weather when something warm would be appreciated, although tea and coffee in the room was a good start to the day.

A continental breakfast was included in the price and this was absolutely fine. The location was excellent and we were able to get off road parking which was a bonus as there would have been a problem with parking on the road due to the Saturday market. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

We liked the bathroom which was quite big, the shower was excellent. Bed very comfortable. The staff more than helpful and very welcoming. Very clean, and great location. Food excellent, bar staff were lovely. Great location

rooms need a little updating to make them more practical and safe e.g. handle in shower , hooks for towels in bathrooms

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, it was nice and quiet.

The heating was on and the room was very hot. The towel holder was broken.
