Booked the Wrangham House as we were going to see Sting at the Scarborough open air theatre. Lovely building, friendly staff and great location in the village. Has its own fully stocked bar and restaurant. The full English breakfast was perfect. Close to the church and, while it may not be to everyone’s taste, the bells toll every quarter hour which took me back to simpler times. Wonderful surprise as the room had a four poster bed. An hours walk to Filey through countryside and along the beach. Perfect weekend getaway

Has a Dolce Gusto coffee machine in the room but no kettle so making a cup of tea was a challenge

The location was ideal with ample parking and beautiful gardens and surroundings. The building was very old and quirky which was fun. We were greeted with a superb welcome and everything explained clearly, The bed was super comfy and had memory foam pillows and mattress. Plenty of toiletries and bottles of water. The hotel had a bar and restaurant which we didn't take advantage of due to the nature of our stay but appeared popular with other guests.

The room was a bit shabby and had a distinctive"old building" smell but wasn't unpleasant. It had a lot of creaking floorboards! There was no hot water for a wash in the morning with only a trickle so a hot shower for me would have been a disaster had I needed one! Breakfast was as expected but for a full English, no beans, no hash browns, only one rasher of bacon and no bread and butter! Plenty of toast though!.

Nice spacious room very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and the food both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Piebald Inn and the Horseshoes, both in the village, are good alternatives for an evening meal

Steep spiral staircase to coach house rooms 3 & 4 which was not mentioned when booking. This could cause problems for guests with mobility issues, with pets or with larger items of luggage. Storage space would benefit from some drawer space.

Very comfortable and spacious room, lovely garden view and very quiet. We were in a twin bedroom with very large twin beds which were so comfortable. Coffee maker also in the room with plenty of coffee pods as well as tea and bottled water. The décor reflected the Georgian style of the house with some beautiful original features. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The food was delicious both evening meal and breakfast, we stayed over Easter and everyone had a chocolate easter egg on easter sunday morning on the breakfast table which was a lovely gesture

The location for us was great. The room was clean, comfortable and well kitted out for all our needs. The bathroom was exceptional and a lot more than we were expecting for the cost of the upgrade to a private bathroom.

The mattress on our bed was very uncomfortable, we only stayed one night so was manageable. For a longer stay something would need to be done about it. There was also no hot water from the bathroom sink but we reported it on check out, they were very apologetic and intended to get it fixed.

Lovely old rectory. Our suite worked well for the 3 of us with a joining bathroom between lounge and bedroom . On site parking Fresh cooked breakfast . Very helpful and friendly staff

Breakfast was a little slow with a bit of confusion over order but it was busy. The restaurant wasn't open on Sunday night and none of the pubs in the village were serving food either so had to go further a field. Was informed at checkout 'should have booked direct ' as would have been considerably cheaper!!! No kettle or tea bags in room but a fresh pot of tea was bought to our room very quickly ( there was a coffee machine)

Everything about this place is perfect. The host Peter and the staff are brilliant. The room we had (5) was gorgeous with a comfy bed, huge bathroom and a separate TV room to chill in. The bar has a real fire. We had our meal here and both had steak which was absolutely beautiful and I was persuaded to try a few of the wines and settled on a lovely French one. The breakfast was also very good. Then off for a walk on Filey front to clear our heads x

Checked in - as expected, coach house rooms were suits and fantastically accommodated. When we booked in we were asked if we had booked dinner - which we had and asked what we were having. As I have previously stayed at this hotel before I suggested fillet steak which was a beautiful dinner last time. Informed that they did not have any fillet but would attend local butchers to get some.... Thats service

There is really nothing to dislike other than the under stocked bar but there was plenty of choice

An old building full of character. We stayed in the main house with a four poster bed, the room was large enough to be comfortable. Very pleasant with helpful staff and plenty of parking. The best part of the stay for us was the food. Talk to the owner/chef who is passionate about his cooking which is of a high quality and delicious. Try a sirloin steak, best ever!! The hotel is well placed for visiting Bempton RSPB
