The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.i had a quiet twin room with lovely views. The bed was comfy as was the wing-back arm chair in my room. The continental breakfast was more than adequate.

The staff were so friendly, the bar had a good atmosphere and drinks are very reasonably priced, a free drink per person for each day is such a nice touch, breakfast is included and there is excellent choices, there was a Sunday roast which was so nice and great value for money, chocolates with the towels for the second night, overall amazing value for money and genuinely couldn't fault anything. The hotel exceeded my expectations and will definitely stay again.

It didn't bother me but the shower water wasnt going hot for a while the first day but it was quickly sorted.

I always think that the best way to judge anything is how staff deal with issues you raise if you are unhappy. Well the staff at this location were first class and resolved every issue we raise. This is a listed building and so don’t expect modern facilities all round the hotel (but the WiFi was good throughout). The breakfast was plentiful and usually well cooked. Whilst there is no parking at the hotel there is plenty of free parking in nearby car parks. We also enjoyed two wonderful meals at nearby restaurants that were within walking distance (one was just across the road).

The first rooms were on the second floor, which for a person with mobility issues, made access difficult. This cannot be blamed on the hotel because they cannot get permission to install a lift. There is a taxi firm down a side road to the hotel which can give noise issues, and gulls make a lot of noise, but the hotel supplied ear plugs throughout our stay without asking.

Lovely, clean comfortable room. Also very quiet at the top of the building. Warm and friendly staff helped me carry up my luggage

For a hotel that seems to have ongoing work inside, it has tons of character and punches above its weight. With rooms that have a feeling of home, you're guaranteed a great sleep. The staff go above and beyond for the guests making any visit that extra special. A bustling bar on the ground floor may result in a slight hangover, an exceptional Scottish breakfast washed down with some filtered coffee and fresh juice in the morning will have you back to your normal self and ready for your day in no time. The kindness shown by the hotel makes this hotel stand out from the rest and I can't thank them enough for their compassion, generosity and benevolence.

Service is great and choosing breakfast the night before makes for a very efficient morning service, my appetite may be different in the morning than that of the night before when viewing choices. A chance to view a menu again at breakfast would be welcomed, but this takes nothing away from the service or quality of breakfast provided..

for me it was the perfect location and the facilities were as advertised and totally sufficient. it is not a luxury hotel but it doesn’t purport to be. it’s an honest place that does what is says on the tin.

Breakfast was really and friendly staff

The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The TV being a smart TV was great and the coffee machine was a nice touch. The continental breakfast offered as well as cooked breakfast was great.

There was no lift. The noise from the taxi rank outside when we were trying to sleep. The earplugs were helpful but it could still be heard some through closed windows and earplugs. It would have been nice to be able to order breakfast each morning as the 2nd morning we would have preferred a smaller cooked breakfast or something different but the breakfast was nice (better the 2nd day).

The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay at Carlton hotel very much. The room was clean, beds were comfy and breakfast was good with choices for vegetarian/vegan peeps. They even arranged to bring us breakfast in contenants the night before we took our flights back really early which was a nice gesture.

We had our stay on a Friday & Saturday night and even though there was earplugs provided in the room, the street was pretty noisy. It is normal though, people are entitled to let go on weekends :)
