PERSONAL service is the key to my stay here, in a rather quaint and characterful hotel full of charm. You don't get a bland white box for a room, you get an odd-shaped room with where everything is there but perhaps not how you expect it. The shower took ages to pump hot water through, but once the water was hot, there was one of the longest baths I've ever seen, and the shower over it worked well. I got tea-making facilities. My bed was a bit bouncy, but it didn't stop me sleeping like a log, and waking refreshed. It is likely that every room here is different from the next, and some may not have private facilities, but mine gave me everything I wanted. Breakfast was 'full English' (even in Scotland), and the personal service I mentioned adapted this to my vegetarian requirements, and everything was fresh cooked to order. There is free car parking, but it was tricky for me to find, but I found a little square behind the hotel with parking.
The WiFi was so weak as to be unusable. But this had the advantage that I got out of my room and explored lovely Jedbergh. Plenty of little restaurants and cafes for you to eat at. Also a large food store where you will get almost anything you need for a holiday

I booked this because I was not prepared to pay over £200 for a room in Edniburgh for a business meeting, and the Spread Eagle suited our purposes for a business trip. The owners were really friendly and we chatted in the bar about the challenges they faced taking on a building that was over 500 years old. I actually really liked the quirkyness of the accomodation the rooms were clean and the shower worked well which is what I needed.
Its an old building so don't expect all the facilities like in a modern hotel.

We had a very warm reception at the hotel. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. We were out very late doing a ghost hunt at the Jail so we were freezing! We came back to a very cosy and warm room. The breakfast room was lovely and good service. We would stay again.
My only complaint is my eggs were very overcooked at breakfast, otherwise it was an excellent stay!

Very clean and owner was smiley and welcoming. Breakfast was quick and nice plus the owner was very attentive.
You couldn’t access before 4pm the door was locked I was assured I could drop off luggage beforehand but when arrived owner was out so had to wait a good 40 minutes to hand in luggage resulting in us being a bit late for a festival.

The hotel was old with the character and charm of days long gone evident in its structure and it was placed within walking distance of all the main attractions (and a wonderful chocolate shop). The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was just right while the staff were very friendly. Parking was plentiful, either on the road, in the public carpark nearby, or in the hotel car park. I would happily stay there again.
There was no entry into the hotel before 4pm. No reception, no waiting area and the door was locked, so there was no point turning up before that time, not even for a drink.

Lovely old hotel nicely modernised retaining lots of historic features. Lovely host and very tasty breakfast. Jedburgh is a lovely small historic town with a fabulous ruined abbey and lots of other historic buildings
Not an issue but there is no evening food. Jedburgh has a surprising range of restaurants, pubs/bars, cafes and takeaways.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast room was very nice with good service. Very central location close to shops and bus station.
Entrance via small bar is quite basic. No evening food available although there are local places to eat. Jedburgh has surprisingly few pubs and restaurants.

The very friendly happy owners and clean.
Little thinks could be done to make it better, i.e., paint the back of the bed wall instead of round it, secure the headboard properly to the bed. The breakfast should be a Scottish breakfast, I think it should be pure orange juice with breakfast, not squash.

The Spread Eagle Hotel was great, we stayed for 1 night after a ghost hunt in the local jail. it was perfect for what we needed. We were met by a friendly face to check in and check in was quick and smooth. our room was spacious, nicely decorated and super comfy, had all we needed in the room including coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast the following morning was delicious, selection of cereals and juice to start and then you were asked to make an order for breakfast and coffee both of which were delicious. We all had the full English and even got extra toast when the boys wanted a little extra. Absolutely perfect service. A wonderful hotel, would definitely stay again if ever in or around Jedburgh.

Charming hosts! Full English breakfast! Location was in the heart of town and nearby to the Jedburgh Abbey. Ideal for a weekend getaway. We were sorry to have to miss the upcoming festival.
Room 5 is next to the kitchen and breakfast area. It was a bit loud.
