The room was nicely laid out and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and warm from the heated towel rail. There was a lovely big bath, which I like and a good shower over it which suited my husband. Breakfast is included in the price which actually makes it quite good value and it was excellent. We can recommend both the full Scottish breakfast and the omlette which I added extras to and they were happy to do.
Everything was great but it's worth noting that they don't have a car park so you might have a bit of a walk with your cases unless you pull up, drop them off and then go and park.

Great ocation in the town centre, no parking, but a free public car park a few minutes walk away. We stayed in a deluxe double room. Facilities great, nice big room with sofa. Bed was enormous and had a great night's sleep. Great cooked breakfast which set us up for the day. Had evening meal as well which was very good. Would definitely recommend.
Because of the location in the town centre, traffic noise started up quite early in the morning, but not a lot can be done about that as our room faced the road.

I stayed here for the first time recently, due to it being reasonably close to EdgeFest. It was fantastic! Such a warm welcome at check-in, beautifully decorated room (top floor), super comfy, all the facilities I needed, great shower, plenty of parking nearby... Lots of lovely shops and cafes in the surrounding streets as well. I'd happily return and stay here again.
With it being a Saturday night, there was some noise from people in the street around midnight or so but it passed fairly quickly and everything was otherwise quiet. I didn't have any view from the window but for me this was fine.

All staff are very polite and welcoming. The room was warm, with a very large bathroom, and the beds very comfortable. Tea, coffee and shortbread was provided as well as a bottle of water. The hotel is situated just around the corner from the main town square, with free overnight parking very close by. There's a nice bar and restaurant area and we particularly enjoyed chatting with the night security man in the bar after regular pub hours. Local shops and eateries are within a minute's walk, so the location is perfect for anyone wishing to explore Kelso on foot.
It's not a criticism of the hotel - but those with restricted mobility should note that because it's an historic building with quirky levels and lots of stairs, it may be not suitable for everyone. Our room was at the front of the hotel, overlooking the street. The first thing we noticed on entering was that the windows appear not to have been cleaned for a very long time! We couldn't open the bathroom window (sorry, forgot to mention this to staff when we checked out!) I assumed (incorrectly) that breakfast would be served in the restaurant, which is nice. The breakfast room, however is not particularly welcoming and not what I expected. It could be made into a nicer place.

Convient. Staff were lovely. Fan in the room. Great breakfast.
Room was tired. Base of bed stained. Had to fiddle with bedside light to get it to work. Window looked out onto rather sad courtyard with bins, which I appreciate have to be somewhere but the courtyard area could be made more pleasant looking. Window boxes maybe? Or maybe put up sheer inside curtains on the windows? Coasters were stuck to the bedside table so couldn’t reposition them Note: This is just to make people aware, our en-suite was a black/iridescent wet room so you need to make sure you pick everything up off the floor before you shower and don’t leave anything in there whilst showering you don’t want to get wet

The room was very large and had everything needed, even biscuits and water jug. The location is perfect. so close to the heart of Kelso. Parking at the nearby Knowes Car Park is super easy, a short walk away. I found the service from all the staff to be excellent, very friendly and positive. The breakfast was very tasty and table service. Overall, the Queens Head Hotel exceeded my expectations and I shall stay again when back in Kelso.
The water pressure could have been better, but not a big issue.

The cooked breakfast was large, tasty and hot. Waitress was friendly, prompt and very helful. Our room was larger then expected, huge comfy bed and bathroom with bath and a shower cubicle. We had dinner one night and the portions were generous and reasonably priced.
Being an old building there are alot of steps but the hotel staff were very understanding and gave me a room on the lower floor. The walk in shower that I asked for was a little high to step into but I managed and the shower was very good. The street was busier than I had expected but the hotel is in the centre of town. I wear ear plugs at night so it was fine.

The attic room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was good. The staff were all very nice. Kelso is a lovely, clean little town and the hotel is situated in the centre.
The bar was a bit grim with 2 screens playing 2 different sports channels. The wine was not very good. Didn't try the food. Bathroom was very small. Very little in the way of decent bars and nice places to eat in Kelso. Ok for 1 night.

A traditional inn/hotel that had a real buzz about it. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was very comfortable with a modern ensuite bathroom. The breakfast and dinner menus catered for all tastes and the food was excellent.
I can't think of any issues. The staff were very accommodating and attentive, the room was very comfortable and the food was very good. If I was being very picky, the hotel does not have a car park but it was possible to park on the street opposite the hotel.

Prepaid, we were welcomed on arrival and reception knew of our booking and room requirements,I was helped with taking suitcase upstairs. Room was adequately furnished with very good wall tv and a modern en suite shower/bathroom with hot water on tap. Tea making facilities. Bar service was friendly and efficient-on a tab- and we enjoyed lively craic with the local clients as we watched the football on screens. Tasty supper from varied menu. Excellent scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast to order served quickly with hot coffee; bill (unitemised )was ready at check-out. Free street parking adjacent at rear of the hotel. Unpretentious but VG value for a one night stay.
My mattress was too soft which didnt help my bad back or to sleep well but bedroom was warm and comfortable otherwise. entrances at front and rear are not very impressive and poorly lit.
