The restaurant and food were excellent and to a geat standard. The staff were well turned out and the tables were laid well with good linen and cutlery and crockery. The view from the restaurant over the River Tweed was beautiful and we watched various species of birds near the river. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of fresh food on offer. The cooked choices were varied and delicious. The lounges and bars were comfortable with a Edwardian decor which has developed over the years. Kelso is a lovely Border town witha variety of very nice, individual shops and eating places. All in all our stay was short but it was very good

We had a lovely room with en-suite bathroom on the first floor but our friends had a very cramped twin room on the second floor with a shower and toilet in a cupboard.

Room was a good size and gorgeous with lovely view. Dinner food was excellent - good chef, though not much choice on menu. Lovely little bar to sit and we could stare out of the window to the river.

Everything went well except not much left for us to eat late end of breakfast time for later rises like us! Could have been warmer in public areas, e.g. dining room and bar. In need of a little bit of tlc regarding decorating, e.g. in the painting walls, which were peeling. No cocktails served in the bar - I asked for one and he said we don't do cocktails. The vegan breakfast was awful - don't even try it!

The area was nice, breakfast was nice, Lucy who worked in the restaurant in the morning was very Professional, polite, understanding, good sense of humour and smart Hilda who was the cleaner, couldn't do enough for you, rooms clean tidy well presented, Young Dan who muilt tasked, working in the restaurant and bar in the evening plesent polite smart, just got on with it without moaning,

The restaurant manager on the evening meal, should get some lessons from Lucy about being professional, he was very stand poor, it always seem to be a effort asking him anything, the menu, soup same twice on the trott, read the paper work in your room about prices at evening meal, not to get caught out,

We booked a dog friendly room and it was idealy located next to a couple of entrances/exits to and from the garden and parking area, perfect for bringing the dog in and out from her walks. She was also left a few dog treats, nice touch. The room was comfortable and the ensuite was wonderful, with both a bath and walk in shower, both of which we made use of and found relaxing, with plenty hot water. The location of the hotel is Perfect for walks along the river and easy access to the beautiful town of Kelso. Breakfast was realy great too, as was the breakfast room, it is in a really lovley area of the hotel of lots of daylight and views of the garden and river.

Nothing to dislike really, other than being unable to find a bin to deposit my dogs poo bags, but one was found very close by along one of the river walks by the bridge, so I simply placed the nighttime bag by my car, then took it with me on our morning walk, problem solved.

Located in a central town location but quiet with views across the river. Plenty of parking. All Staff superb especially Lucy who was new to the job and worked hard to make our stay relaxing. Excellent quality food and presentation of dinner and breakfast. Wide choice of meals. Relaxing large terrace with seating.

Whilst dinner was super quality and tasty I was still hungry after the meal - not a problem for everyone I understand, and not really a criticism, but something to be aware of.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The food on the evening meal and breakfast was really good. The room was comfortable with everything we needed and really spacious with our dogs. We liked the doggy tag for the door. Location and view can't be beaten!

The room was a long way from the outside door, which makes life with dogs and luggage a little difficult. But, the size of the room was worth it. The decor and communal areas look tired and shabby, carpets aren't very clean and dining room lacks atmosphere. The place just needs updating.

Ednam House could not have been more relaxing or friendly, with very helpful staff. Lovely setting, great views of the river (and several heron). Superb period building with lovely original features, best of which were the open fire places and raging log fires. Just the place after a long day walking. Plenty of options for food and drink locally. Even though it was very early January and many businesses locally were closed after Christmas, there were still enough options for each of three nights.

We were in an attic room, which was fine. To be really picky, the room was quite tired i terms of decor, although fully functional. We were very comfortable though and totally undisturbed.

Town centre, free parking, very clean, excellent manners from staff.

We had room 21(the room was very nice but in a separate building,) cases had to be carried at least 100 yards along a gravel path hence they could not be rolled. I am not a young man anymore and did struggle, no offer of help was given just receptionist took us through the bar and pointed to the building we were allocated to. A bellboy or an offer of help should have been offered.

the location and grounds are fabulous. the building itself gives a sense of faded grandeur, but to be honest, I rather like that. it has clearly seen better times but it is still gorgeous. The staff were great and our bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was good too.

we booked a budget room which was frankly a bit tatty. However we could see that from the photos before we booked so we knew what we were getting. Bur there wasn’t really anything bad about the place.

Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice. Location overlooking the River Tweed and in the town centre make it ideal. Asked for gluten free toast and this was provided without a y issue.

Limited menu for vegetarians. There was a Kelso celebration week starting during our stay. The hotel did not mention this and although obvious when walking around the town the schedule of events and reason for it took some time to establish
