A lovely, well run hotel right in the heart of Melrose. The staff were great, nothing too much bother for them. Rooms comfortable and clean! Parking (with motorbikes) was a concern for us, but ample room here, and everything was safe. The food was good too, breakfast choices were perfect and dinner at the bar on our first night was delicious, (we ate in other places around town too during our stay)...... we were there midweek for a 'chill out' break, and that's exactly what we got! As a bonus, the weather was glorious. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Good quality hotel in the heart of Melrose where the added bonus of the hotel's private car park is such a relief in a busy tourist area. Staff were friendly and helpful but I have to add bonus points to the staff member in charge of breakfast who was so cheerful, efficient and helpful. She is an asset to the company.

I had a great room to the front of the hotel and was able to watch the activity of the busy main street. I hasten to add it was very quiet at night. My only gripe was I didnt have an armchair in the room so had to use the bed to sit, not so comfortable as a seat would have been. I'm sure, however, one would have been provided if at the time I had thought to ask!

Great staff who were really helpful through out our stay. The rooms were generous, even by single room standards and the bed was nice and comfortable. The food, both in the bar for an evening meal and the breakfast, were absolutely fantastic. It was nice to have a generous car park too and despite being in the centre of town, it was nice and quiet. I could sum the stay up with what I said when dropping off the key, "Lovely".

Breakfast was a little disappointing on our first day as the haggis and blackpudding were so hard we couldnt cut it and the beans tasted burnt and we did mention it to the waitress.On our second morning breakfast we were put in a room for breakfast because they were preparing the other room for a wedding.The tables were placed very close to each other and whilst we were eating people were passing by our table and knocking and pushing us which spoilt our breakfast so we decided to leave half of our breakfast because of this.

Melrose is an interesting little town set in the lovely countryside. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Although the room was located on the main street, it was very quiet at night time. The food in the restaurant was tasty and all the staff were friendly and helpful. A large car park was useful.

A geet canny olde hotel/ local pub in the lovely Melrose in Scotland. The hotel is central in the small town of Melrose and has fab free parking, as most places you will struggle to find appropriate parking when on a 2/3 day short break away from home 😉

The fact that the hotel is a very old one, it is clean and keeping in character other with the old & new.

room could have been cleaner, lots of cob webs, dirty bath. Breakfast wasn't the best, stewed tea in urns, not much choice, the staff were very busy, had to ask for milk/bread/butter, breakfast was served until 10am, we went down at 9.30am

Melrose is lovely. The hotel was spotless, dog friendly, the breakfast more than you could eat & the staff nothing was too much trouble. All in all it was a reasonably priced experience & one we will make a regular habit of repeating more regular. Thank you very much. Graham & Susan Newton

I can't think of one thing, it was a perfect location & Hotel for really relaxing break. A spacious car park with Disabled Bays.

Dinner room was nice and clean. Prices and quality of food excellent. The Scottish Breakfast was a excellent start to the day. Easy check-in. Comfortable beds and rooms comfortable. Location good

Bathroom could be updated. Door handles to rooms need to be replaced. Not the best if you require a left. Overall a nice place

The staff were lovely and couldn't be more helpful and friendly. The room was clean and warm. The bed linen and towels were spotless and the towels were changed after two days. The food was really tasty and well presented.

The room was slightly small, a little dark and had no storage space but was still cosy and comfortable.
