I used this hotel as a stop over on the way home from the Western Isles , great location because i had to drive bright past it anyway . The guy on reception was very friendly and helpful , my single room was lovely , very clean and quiet . There is no parking attached to the hotel but you buy a parking pass , £2.00 , from reception , for your car and park on any adjoining street . There are a lot of shops , bars , takeaways and restaurants around the area and a vegan food place ' Soul Food ' on the garden level of the hotel . Breakfast was good , self service , lots of choice , cereal , yogurt , toast and a selection of cooked food .
nothing i did'nt like .

All the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely with so much choice, as soon as we entered the dining area we were greeted by staff offering hot drinks, the beds were really comfortable and the room was clean. Perfect location right by Byres Road, so a 2 minute walk to all the bars and resturants but far enough away not to have any noise pollution. Perfect location. The hotel gave us a choice of rooms, we paid for a double but they upgraded us to a family room which we chose, perfect room and plenty of space.
Our room was above the rubbish area, so smelt when near the bedroom window. It wasn't an issue because the window was far enough away from the beds, and we shut the window during the night but could imagine this being an issue during summer. Parking is rubbish but can park approx 10 minutes' walk away for free, for how good the location is, the parking isn't a problem.

The location of the hotel was Ideal for the wedding we were attending. It was only about a 40 minute walk to town centre aswel which was fab. Plenty bars etc around the area. Breakfast was ideal to start the day off. The room itself was very small and on top floor with no lifts. We didn't mind this at all it did say the possibility of being on top floor etc at booking and the room was just to sleep in.
For the price you pay I didn't expect amazing things but really a little more attention to cleaning wouldnt harm the place. Although was mainly fine but things like the sink in bathroom hadn't been cleaned had toothpaste marks over it. Which really is a 2 second job. Alot of dust collecting in places on the room aswel. We had emailed about parking prior to arriving, stating it would be late we arrived and was told there would be plenty spaces. After using street view we decided to just get a train and glad we did as there was not a space in site by the time we arrived at 8pm. There was a how to in the welcome pack about how to turn heating up and down unfortunately still looking for that temp gage in the room. Don't believe the room had one at all

Excellent location and great facilities for the price. The buffet breakfast was EXCELLENT for £12, and included a full Scottish breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, haggis, beans, tomato, mushroom, potato scones) as well as pastries, yoghurt, cereal, juice, tea and coffee. Highly recommend. The room was great and perfect for my needs for the night. The service was excellent and the staff helpfully assisted me with my suitcase up the stairs! Very lovely and friendly staff. Located right beside a bus stop with buses to Central and Queen St train stations, and located in the hipster/uni area of Glasgow
The bed was a bit uncomfortable but perfectly fine for the one night I stayed. There is no lift, which is usual in the UK, but I’m mentioning it so other guests are aware. There are accessible rooms on the ground floor. The staff were also very helpful assisting me with my luggage up the stairs - thank you!

Right beside Glasgow university and the botanic gardens, it is a great spot from which to explore the city while staying in a quiet area. The staff was very attentive at all times and the breakfast had a nice range of options (they even met my dietary restrictions). The room was cozy, clean and quiet (even facing the main road). The only thing I would take into account is that first thing in the morning the whole building gets filled with the breakfast's smell in anticipation. Nothing too bothersome at all, but if you are sensitive to smells, be wary.

We were traveling to Glasgow for a concert from Spain. We had some issues with the tickets and Azam was amazing and let us send them to the hotel. Moreover, he went the extra mile at everything and helped us out with absolutely all. He booked us taxis and overall was very welcoming every time we spoke to him. For breakfast there is a decent range of choices that you can have. However, as a celiac, there was nothing I was able to eat so I suggest you to take your own things! Nonetheless, the staff is very knowledgeable and they have a list of allergens displayed in the front too! Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Argyll Western hotel and for sure will be back when we return to Glasgow! Excellent service, great location and the triple room we stayed at was pretty good too!

The location was fine, on a route with frequent buses. Restaurants are within easy reach. The traffic on Great Western Road was not too intrusive. The hotel was very clean and staff always available. Breakfast was self-service with cooked items on hot trolleys which meant one could have as much or little as one wanted, although on the whole I should prefer a freshly cooked breakfast. Tea was brought to the table. I liked the room decor and the bed was comfortable.
Television was not visible from the bed. The room was perfectly adequate without being very large.

We booked two hotels in different parts of the country - this was by far the cheaper of the two - and by far the more superior. Simple, straightforward - not pretentious, well located - well done!
I suppose, as a fan of the full Scottish - I would have liked it made to order - but very good nonetheless. It would be good to avoid the main public spaces smelling of disinfectant - cheapens the effect of the hotel's first impression. But these are quibbles - excellent overall

This was a great value choice, for a short stay in Glasgow, nicely located close to the Subway system [Kelvinbridge or Hillhead] I had a single room on the top floor, with single bed [very comfortable] smart clean decor, with bright shower room [decently powerful and warm shower], with proper desk, arm chair, proper sized TV and decent view out of the windows. The breakfast was first class, buffet style with very well cooked full Scottish breakfast options. Would definitely stay here again

The location was excellent, such great value and because the hotel is slightly up from the main road, this helped with road noise and safety. Staff were friendly and helpful with practicalities like parking.
I usually ask for a quiet room and the lower level was definitely peaceful (I think perhaps a number of other guests were all attending a wedding or other event). However, due to the plumbing set-up there was noise from the bathroom at night and this could disturb a light sleeper. I checked with staff in the morning and there was nothing broken, that's just the type of plumbing in that room.
