I wish I could rate this hotel much higher than a 10. The staff were more like friends and went out of their way to recommend fun adventures for our family and even gave excellent directions. They were also in contact with the shops and restaurants nearby which made our stay even more unforgettable. At one point, we walked across the street to purchase a bottle of wine from a neighboring shop called Cuku (which we highly recommend as well) and, since we didn't have a bottle opener, the owner of the shop called the Bellhaven who had glasses and a bottle opener waiting for us upon our return. This was, on all accounts the most wonderful place our family has ever stayed. I can go on and on about the wonderful people, location, breakfast, style, etc. but, to keep it short, we will never stay anywhere else in Glasgow as long as there is a light on for us at Belhaven.

Large room and comfortable bed. Friendly staff.

If you have a attic or 3rd floor room it is not good for people who are not good on stairs. It involves a lot of stairs. Checkin time is not as per booking.com it is open to a lot later. Picture is not the hotel.

Room was large enough to perhaps have a comfortable couch for two instead of 'ottoman'. Breakfast choice of simple cereal and/or toast or a cooked breakfast from a good selection was very nice. The two Polish girls we met for reception and 'waiting' were very friendly and accommodating. Location for city centre was excellent. Easy bus ride or walk.

No parking facilities on site unless you paid during daylight hours. Even then you were lucky to find a space outside the hotel. I had to double park overnight to load/offload cases. Free parking was available across the busy main road but not ideal. Especially when raining.

We have stayed here before and enjoy the area, the staff are lovely, welcoming and friendly. The bar is now open which was great as we were meeting friends who were also staying so had a drink before heading out. The room was clean, a bit dated however it was fine for the purpose of our stay and was reasonably priced.

On street parking outside the hotel is expensive, 3 hours for £12 but we were told there's free on street parking not too far away but we didn't look as was only staying one night and from 6 pm to 8 am it's free. Our room was at the very top of the hotel. Numerous flights of stairs so it would not suit anyone with mobility issues as no lift.

Old Victorian building, well maintained, with a decent sized room but a double bed which might not suit those who prefer a king-size. Parking free 6pm to 8 am. The hotel is in a leafy side road. On other side of Great Western Road in Kirklee road is free daytime parking, perhaps not to the delight of residents. All staff friendly, with Anouska outstanding in her work at breakfast time. Excellent hot and cold food.

My wife found stairs to 2nd floor steep. No lift. We would stay ground or 1st floor next time

Family room was a very good size. Double and two singles plus sofas, table and chairs and side desk. Room faced the main road, so traffic noise audible. However, we fully expected that given the location. Breakfast was excellent. Freshly cooked. Staff very friendly and helpfully. Hotel itself located not too far from some of the major Glasgow attractions. If driving, be prepared to pay for road parking 8am to 6pm (Ringo app). There is also a 3 hour stay limit during the day.

TV in room was a bit small, given the size of the room, but we weren’t there to watch TV!

Nice spacious room! Good choice at breakfast, made to order.

One thing which we did feed back to the receptionist when we checked-out was the heating in the room. We arrived Friday evening after driving up from Yorkshire for an event nearby, so we were in and out and then late back. In the very early morning we noticed the room was quite cold. We tried putting the heating on and followed the instructions, but the radiator never heated up. The receptionist told us it can take several hours to heat up.... I would be checking to make sure the radiator is working. It should be more responsive than that, surely.

Hotel staff can often make or break a guest's hotel experience. I am happy to report that the staff we met at the Belhaven were friendly and enthusiastic. We chose the hotel purely for it's location, close to our daughter's halls of residence. So we had no particular expectations about the its qualities. Just really somewhere to rest our heads. I really enjoyed the ambiance. Presumably, the hotel was originally a private house, and it wasn't difficult to start imagining its former glory, and all of the "upstairs downstairs" goings on. Breakfast was lovely, and served in quite an ornate room which must have seen no end of high teas in its time.

The bed was a bit small, but then we probably only paid for a small room (just somewhere to rest our heads), we are quite tall, and we're used to a big bed at home. So, my bad.

It was a beautiful location and the most quaint entry area filled with the most beautiful plants and even the cutest cat! The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The check-in process was very simple, and the staff were all very friendly. It is the cutest little hotel that really captures the city of Glasgow!

The only thing that was very unfortunate was that there was no air conditioning. It just so happened to be the hottest week of the year in Glasgow, and it was very hot. There weren't screens on the windows so I couldn't open the window to get some fresh air. There was a fan in the bathroom, so I tried propping that door open, which helped a little, although the bathroom door didn't stay open without a prop.

The hotel was located within walking distance of Oran Mor, where we had tickets for a music gig. The staff were friendly and the room clean and comfortable.

Our shower had a leak - which set off the fire alarm elsewhere in the hotel, as unknown to us the water was dripping through the ceiling into reception. Staff were very apologetic and gave us a free breakfast. But there's nothing more startling than having staff knocking on your door because the Fire Brigade had shown up outside to find out what's happening.
