I recently stayed at this hotel and had an overall pleasant experience, though there were a few drawbacks. The positives first: the room was impressively spacious, providing plenty of room to relax and unwind. The reception staff were welcoming, professional, and very helpful throughout my stay, which added a nice touch to the overall service.
There were three areas that fell short. Firstly, the towels provided were not as clean as I would have expected, which was disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Secondly, the price felt slightly on the higher side compared to what was offered, though the quality of the room did somewhat balance this out. The last thing is breakfast which I give it 2 out of 10

The property is stunning and upon arrival was greeted by the receptionist and he was warm, welcoming and incredibly professional. The room was amazing, with a remarkable big bed. Comfortable and with everything you need to spend the night, as it was my case. Definitely one now saved on my favourites list as the hotel is one that I would definitely recommend.
If I had to pull hairs here... when I went to prepare a coffee, there wasn't a spoon. However, as I always carry one with me, it wasn't an issue, and I am sure that If I went down to reception, the issue would've been sorted in no time. However, this does not change my opinion of this remarkable hotel. Well run and definitely recommended.

Room The rooms are converted from a larger house so the dimensions are a bit weird but fully functional. Very clean throughout. The ones facing the street looks out onto the wooded Kelvin Walk so nice and quiet too. Bathrooms are quite modern and very clean. Had an issue with water draining slowly in the shower but that was an issue with the main road drain outside rather than with the hotel. Just to note that the busy Great Western Road runs close to the hotel so if you are a light sleeper bring some earplugs. Location Location is superb. Cross the street, go down the Kelvin Walk, cross the Victorian bridge and you are up in the Botanic Gardens. Cost of taxi from Central Station is around £9-10. Hillhead tube is 200m down on Byers road and handy for getting into town. Also very handy for all the pubs along either Great Western Road or Byers Road. You can also follow the beautiful river walk all the way round and come up outside Kelvingrove Museum. I have stayed in many hotels/B&Bs in the West End and this is by far the best value for money. Food I didn't get breakfast at the hotel as I knew there were plenty of places to eat on Byers road. Especially Old Salty's. Ashton Lane is fantastic for dinners and lunches. Staff Only had some quick interactions with the staff who were all super friendly, especially Sam who helped me check in and switched the room for me as the first one had a window blocked by a wall.
Because the rooms are partitioned, you might get a noisy guest next door who decide to watch TV loudly in the middle of the night and the walls won't block it very well. Squeaky floorboards above could also be annoying, but nothing a pair of earplugs can't sort out! This is quite usual for older properties like this.

Overall the hotel is good especially, if you just want some time away from the everyday life. I find the receptionist to be very kind and nice honestly and I appreciate the fact that they are professional and also to mention that they allowed me to check in early like after 9am which I’m thankful for. Was so tired thank yOu!!!
Did not like the shower( the hot water was not heating up properly either it was too hot or it gets cold so basically I was back and forth with the adjustments also, the water does not drain well and fast enough finally, the shower door handle needs to be fixed)

It was clean, good quality pillows and bedding, great location for the price, fantastic that we could check in just after 10pm due to traffic delays (payment upfront was required). Great communication from the Host. The shower was spacious and powerful with a steady temperature once set.
One of the towels on the second night didn't appear to be clean and we didn't have milk replenished after using it on the first morning. Overall we'd come again and I'd recommend it 💯🙂

David greeted me and was very cheerful and helpful when I checked in, then he was equally cheery the next morning at checkout. He carried my luggage down the steps and directed me to the best bus stop, too. There was a directory in my room telling about places to visit and how to get around Glasgow - , that was really helpful. The room is very small but lots of thought went into how to make the best use of everything. I especially appreciated the way the desk merged into a luggage rack that is right below a compact rack for hanging clothes - and all of that is next to the radiator and the window. It would be a very handy place to hang hand-washed items to give them the best chance of drying overnight! The room was clean and quiet. The pillows were very fluffy and comfortable. The curtain closure was a little awkward because it assumed I was six feet tall but other than that it was just the right amount of coverage without wasting any materials. The radiator controls were very easy to operate and I accidentally got the room a bit cold but I did sleep comfortably. If I need to spend a second night in Glasgow I will definitely consider the Ambassador again.
The steps up to the front door keep this from being an accessible hotel but my taxi driver was willing to carry my luggage up for me and I am able to slowly climb stairs. The shower in my room drained very slowly and the spray nozzle is hung so high up that average women will never be able to adjust it - so we hope your housekeeping staff are all giants to clean them properly! Also, the bathroom was very cold. If I left the door closed it began to feel like a refrigerator in there. Otherwise it was clean and attractive

The place was quaint, clean, and the bathroom modern and spotless
The place was maybe receiving current updates given the modern bathrooms and General clean look of the hotel but the mattresses in the twin room (No4) I booked were awful, felt like they were 20+ year old lumpy spring bust back killers, was only there for the night so not worth complaining, but if those beds where updated they could easily charge 50% more for the place

Reception and staff were excellent, very friendly. The room was spacious and lacked nothing one would need for an extended stay, (included a small kitchen with oven even). The location was a 2 minute walk to the botanical gardens, eateries, pubs, and a short walk to the university and sites. A 7£ ride to City Centre. Free parking was included.
Everything was excellent and there was nothing to speak of that fell short.

We loved the charme of this hotel, staff was very kind and attentive. Front desk provided us with parking tickets for a small fee which was nothing in comparison to the actual fees to be paid every 4 hours at the machine. The rooms were small (which we expected) and practically equipped. Everything was clean and functional. The bus stop to the city centre is on the other side of the botanical garden, so within walking distance which was great. Breakfast was ok in order to get your day started. They serve full Scottish breakfast.
No curtains at the windows only blinds. No suitcase rack.
