There was a friendly atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and evening meal was very good. The bar area was comfortable and the beer good.

We were given a double room with ensuite but for some reason there was no door to the en suite. We asked to change rooms and the staff were very obliging and moved us to another room. However, this was even more odd - as you entered you stepped immediately into the ensuite, which was tiny and I mean tiny! You took one step forward and then went through another door into the bedroom. A very strange arrangement. The shower was a very small cubicle with no hot water.

Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Nicely finished and decorated. The tea and coffee making facilities in my room were a unique feature and I enjoyed it. The bathroom was large and had everything apart from a shaver charger for my toothbrush! There were plenty of plug sockets and some even had USB outlets too! Good tv, bed was comfortable and had handy reading lamps on both sides. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was kept clean and restocked daily. The hotel is a characterful old building with personality. Food was also good in the pub.

Breakfast starts too late. The downside to the lovely old building is that there's little to no parking available, however there is a large car park nearby that seemed very safe which is free for 1 hour and then after 6pm until the next morning. The hot water was EXTREMELY hot, it nearly took the skin off my hand, so be careful.

I loved the calm, quiet nature of the property. It offers a slower pace, which I sought during this trip. The historical aesthetic of the property is carried thoughtfully throughout the property. The staff was exceptional - helpful, kind, and willing to help with any issue brought to them. The pub area brings the special feeling of relaxation and a place to decompress with others or alone. The outdoor space is lovely for a brief get together or to catch some fresh air.

This is not a criticism, but a statement for those with mobility issues. Stairs to the sleeping areas must be managed carefully or with assistance. Great the staff is willing to help.

The room was great, very spacious and great furniture. Lovely view of the green and village hall. I thought the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The meals were very good.

The restaurant was great, though for me it was too dog friendly. Staff working at the tables were fussing over a dog then serving food. I dont know when the ruling permitting this in the UK happened but I do not think that dogs should be allowed in restaurants, I know it is very common these days but not everyone likes to see it.

Goring is a nice small town about 10 minutes train ride from reading station. The station in goring is around the corner from the Mansfield. It was very cozy and was like an Inn. We got there on Sunday and everyone was lovely, even had the roast which was spectacular as roasts go, worth noting that the beef and chicken and all the rest was cooked really well and tasty which is a pleasant surprise after a long journey. They have a great bar with about a dozen drafts, a patio and garden where we listened to live music. The property was secured electronically and our key got us in easily in the early hours of the morning. It’s not a new build obviously but they take care of everything and the rooms were clean, warm, very well furnished and comfortable, coffee and tea, hairdryer, strong hot shower. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, everyone so friendly! A nice menu and good food, coffee was good tasting. We’ve worked hospitality in all sections so can say, they must have a kitchen team that cares and wants their guests to eat well. The lady who took care of us on our stay was lovely

I wasn’t the first person to think of “it’s boring in Goring”.

Breakfast plentiful and a very good choice on the menu. Evening meals tasty and well served. Room spacious and mainly comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities very good. Good size bath and nice complimentary toiletries. Room serviced in the morning with clean towels etc.

The bed which was very small. We had upgraded to a superior room from a standard double. Standard 4 foot six bed. Would have expected at least 5 foot in a superior room. Room, although very pleasant, was up two flights of stairs. The last flight was very steep as it was in the eaves of the building. Unable to book directly with the Miller of Mansfield so couldn’t discuss any of this with the staff.

Lovely friendly welcome. The room was gorgeous with lots of thoughtful touches (fresh coffee & cafetiere, good selection of teas, fresh milk and biscuits). The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was good and strong. We had a fantastic breakfast - perfect Eggs Benedict and excellent coffee. The couple running it have only recently taken it over and went above and beyond to make us welcome.

The evening meal was disappointing (overcooked pasta with a poor sauce), but after a gentle complaint and an agreement from the chef that the dish was below standard the cost of the dish was removed. There's no dedicated parking for guests, but there's a public car park a short walk away.

Lovely location. Nice village and area of outstanding natural beauty. Lovely cooked breakfast. Staff good, very friendly. Nice pub downstairs.

Would have preferred a carpet. Blind broken. Green lights very bright in both rooms. Shower head broke and very hard to turn off. Cooked breakfast was very good but no cereal, juice, pastries, yogurt etc. You had to order what you wanted which was great but would have liked a selection of other things on offer.

really lovely pub with great atmosphere the rooms were quirky and lovely.

the mattress was really really firm and made sleep a bit suboptimal. also the breakfast was really lovely, but it was let down by there not being juices, cereals, fruit etc out to help yourself to. just ordering if a hot breakfast and coffee/tea. small niggles I know but would have made experience better.

A very friendly welcome from Steve who acted / hosted extremely well with a very warm friendly nature of what welcomed us to our last stay in UK. Lee the barman was very helpful and very good. John cooked the most amazing breakfasts and the head chef cooked an amazing meal on our last night (ribs were out of this world…!!!!)… Young Dominic was just superb at breakfast making it so easy for us and our experience was just Devine. A huge well done to the Miller I will definitely stay again….!!!! Anyone that gives negative feedback to this hotel just simply has no idea as I travel the world many times so it’s definitely in my top 5. thank you Miller of Mansfield 👍
