The Breakfast was everything I expected it to be. I’ve gone off Bacon at the moment but tried half of what was on my plate and it was delicious. The staff gave off a very friendly atmosphere and nothing was no trouble. My room was a suite, although I don’t recall asking for one. This was lovely with plenty of armchairs and a foldaway bed as a couch. I’ve found that if you say you are alone you may get that one pokey room . So I always say it’s for 2. It was a pleasure to sit and read the paper in this room.

Nothing really. A lift would have been nice, but in an old building of character I can see why there isn’t one. I’m sure a member of staff would carry your bags up to the room if asked.

We booked 3 charming rooms, 2 of which looked out onto the market Square of lovely Grassington. Great bathrooms with very hot water. They were lovely ( one could have been a little cleaner , but nothing major) . Staff great, food great. We were a bit worried when we first arrived because it was a very busy pub and to be honest I have never stayed in a pub before, but we had nothing to worry about. Very busy on a Saturday night, but we were placed in a room to the side for our meal , which meant we were away from the busy bar. It was actually nice to have a bit of atmosphere in the building. If you are expecting a quiet hotel in the dales, you might be a bit disappointed. It is a pub with rooms which is very friendly, well located, with nice food, a good breakfast ,it's dog friendly, and we will definitely be back for more. Thankyou .

The room was dog friendly which was fab for our pooch, but it was a bit dusty around the skirting boards and floor.

We loved the location and our pretty room overlooking the square! Room was neat and clean. Bed was spacious and very comfortable. It’s always a plus to have a fridge in the room, so we really appreciated that.

Minor things that could use improvement or maintenance. Light over bathroom sink was not working. This was the most important light to be able to see to shave or apply make up. There were no washcloths in our room, just bath and hand towels. A box of tissues would also be nice. Coffee served in restaurant was very bitter. Would recommend a different brand. Suggest removing French onion soup from the menu. It was definitely not French onion soup and not very good.

Central location. Small, friendly hotel with lovely bar and good restaurant serving locally sourced, home cooked food. Bedrooms are generously proportioned with comfortable beds. Bathrooms have good, big, fluffy towels. Breakfast hit all the right notes. We pulled up right outside to load and unload, though parking is available a little outside the main square. The location being part of a popular TV series was a big hit with the American contingent in our party and the hotel is ideally located for a wander around the village after the crowds have gone in the evening and before the tour buses arrive in the morning.

Everything was great for us, though if you needed closer parking, it could be a bit tricky.

Breakfast was served in the bar area as we had a dog and no dogs allowed in the dining room - food was really good with a good choice of vegetarian options for both breakfast and dinner - room was very small but comfortable - view not great to the rear but not really a negative comment - all in all a good comfortable stay for two nights on the way up to Scotland

Excellent! We had only ever been in the pub before but booked a room for the night to attend a wedding in Burnsall. We arrived at the Devonshire at 11am which was a few hours before check in but the staff were very friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our bags with them which were then waiting for us in our room when we got back that evening. The room was lovely and much bigger than I expected, and breakfast was delicious. The whole place just has a lovely atmosphere and we will definitely stay again, thank you!

Room was lovely, modern bathroom, massive comfy bed, tv. The bar was well stocked with lots of comfortable places to sit and a huge roaring fire. The food was lovely and the staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is right in the main square and everything goes off from there.

The only things I wasn’t too happy with was that the bar where we had dinner was really stifling hot and we had been placed right next to the fire, which was very uncomfortable and we couldn’t eat our food because of it so we ended up getting it bagged up to eat in our room later.

A lovely Yorkshire Pub, fab location, excellent food, friendly staff, clean with everything needed for an overnight stay.

A lovely experience for my husbands 50th was spoilt by the fact I had to go down at 1am to complain about the noice from an apparent lock in, which was happening in the bar that was directly below our room……the noice was so loud it was like the 10-15 people were actually with us in our room!!! The information stated the bar closed at 11pm, we expected some noice but post midnight seemed extreme!!!

We had a very pleasant stay at this establishment, the staff were all very polite and helpful. Our room (Herriot Suite) was very spacious and comfortable and well decorated. The room overlooked the main road and was quiet overnight until 7am when a filming crew began filming and unloading their vehicles. This did not detract from our overall rating of the Devonshire however and am sure it is not a regular/daily occurrence (was not the filming of All Creatures Great and Small on this occasion) and would also mention the lovely evening meal and the full English breakfast we had. Highly recommend this establishment and we would certainly return here if ever in the area.

Great location, right in the centre of the village. Evening meals were very good and probably too much food, suggest a reservation is made or may not get in, every night was busy. The room was very comfortable, clean and modern. Found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Good morning breakfast included with the accommodation.

Overall enjoyed our hotel stay was very nice and really didn’t have any concerns. There is no parking at the hotel and you have to park in a car park for a fee about a five minute walk away, ok if not raining.
