Location was perfect, just by the river. Easy access to the town and Severn Valley Railway, where we spent a great day. Menu had a good selection and drinks too. Beds were so comfy and my Mum enjoyed the disabled facilities in the bathroom. Lovely quiet garden area at the back of the pub which was a little sun trap. All staff get 5 stars, couldn't do enough for us.

Early morning noise from the access road at the front of the Inn (our room on the front) Chips and potato wedges were cooked in old oil (I think) could definitely improve on the chips. Could be crispy and fresh.

The location was perfect, we had cottage number one which was ground floor with perfect view of the river. The room had a feature fireplace (not in use) walk in shower, not the best looking as it's a disabled bathroom, but it was hot, powerful and clean. The room was extremely welcoming and comfortable. The bar was cosy, full of character with a huge log burning fireplace. The menu is clearly passionately thought out and food very tasty and good value. Although we went out of season, so it was quite quiet, it was clear to see that local people love the Mug House and eat there regularly. It's a huge dog friendly place, including staying in the rooms. Our dog Woody was thoroughly spoilt by the owner, jose and he was an exceptional host. Thanks also go to his staff we met, Ella and Lisa, big smiles, nothing ro much trouble. We will be back in the summer but we know we will have to book early!

Nothing at all

Old building, uneven, creaking floorboards and enjoyably quirky. Good facilities in the room. Excellent view from the window. The room was a good size. Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. Ironing equipment if you needed it - we didn't. A large fan - which we did need. Bottled water - still and sparkling in the fridge. Good food and well-kept real ale.

Very little. Had some trouble with the lock but this was quickly fixed. Adjustable showerhead needs a bit of attention but otherwise a good bathroom.

Booking in was prompt. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast full English for husband lots of it, I myself arranged with the staff what I could have being gluton free - no problem. Staff very friendly and attentive making sure you were OK. Plenty of variety of on tap drinks at the bar. I liked that the boss mucked in with the staff helping serve tables. Very busy place, packed out the two nights we were there.

Location perfect, overlooking the river. Staff were very friendly. Booked a breakfast at the last minute the evening before and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and for residents only. I loved the music playing in the breakfast area too. The room was spacious and clean with a good sized bathroom. Will definitely stay again.

Wouldn’t change a thing

Right on the bank of the River Severn, with beautiful views up the river, and a minute's walk into the beatiful town.

The room we were in wasn't the best for taller people (though understandably a very old building, designed for shorter people of the day). If (and when) we book again, we will book into one of the rooms in the main building, as we know they dont have the particular quirkyness of the room we stayed in.

The Mug House Inn is in an incredible location and the pub is really lovely. The staff are friendly and it is incredible value for money. Our room was beside the pub with a ground level window looking out to the river. If the weather had been nice I can only imagine it being even nicer!

The shower needed a new hose as it leaked everywhere, but the shower was still good.

The location of the Hotel is brilliant right on the River Severn with outside dining or drinks on the quay. The car park is conveniently close and accessible and comes as part of the package. All the staff are amazing, really welcoming organised and friendly. The rooms are a wonderful mix of classic 17th Century architecture and subliminal comfort, the in room fridge with chilled water and classic biscuits with the tea and coffee were most welcome. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining, + an outside bar with some covered and open seating, the menu covers most tastes and the food was excellent. I had a brilliant time at the Mug House Inn, and was made to feel really welcome, I'm going back in September and would highly recommend this as great place to stay.

Room was quirkey and very comfortable really nice. Breakfast was excellent quality. Location was great overlooking the river and close to town centre and attractions

The only small issue was when we arrived we had requested an early check in for 12pm and had an email to say that was no problem but when we arrived the manager or owner said they don,t do that and we can,t check in untill 3pm but then a young lady came whilst he was saying we could not have had an email and said the room was ready as per our request and email ,no apology just walked away.

The pub has a wonderful, peaceful riverside location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely rooms, nice pub food and a great range of local and other draught beers. It is just a minute's walk from the town centre and has free parking nearby in the main carpark (at pub reception they give you the free parking permit to leave visible inside the car).
