Comfortable and clean. Quality bar area and seating. Good dining area. Bed was large clean and comfortable. Bedroom was perfectly acceptable. Use of the gazebo was brilliant for an hour or so after the ceremony - there is only one though and it would be great if there were a few dotted around for small parties to congregate

The Bellini cocktail didn’t taste good at all from the bar. The rooms varied vastly within our group and we had the tiniest shower room which was a squeeze. Quality of the outdoor furniture doesn’t match the indoor furnishings. It may be Scotland but the weather was perfect to be outside and the benches were basic and a bit tatty

The room was well equipped with iron, ironing board, luggage rack, hairdryer etc. The breakfast was excellent - the only thing missing from breakfast was fried bread. Room service meal was also excellent. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help with anything we requested. There appeared to be lots of weddings going on while we were there, but we weren't disturbed at all during the night (apart from the usual hotel noise)

VERY MINOR issues that wouldn't stop us staying at the Gretna Hall Hotel again: Our room (No 14) was a bit snug for 2 people & 2 nights. The sink was cracked. The soap dispensers were in really awkward places - they need two hands to use and they are too high up (I'm 5'3") and too far away from the sink. We had a box of tissues in our room but there were only 3 tissues in it! The step-free access to reception wasn't clearly marked from the car park and caused a bit of stress after a 6 hour drive. I have a blue badge but only managed to get into a disabled bay once during our stay. There seemed to be mini-buses permanently occupying two of the bays and non badge holders in others at times.

The windows were extremely difficult to close once opened (velux style) I was worried I may fall out of it trying to close it! We were given a wheelchair accessible room which meant the bathroom was bigger than the room and there was a walk in shower rather than a bath. The other room I booked for my grown up children was a twin room but the beds were together and couldn’t be moved. My son and daughter weren’t comfortable sharing a bed so my daughter roomed with me and my son with his dad, not the romantic break I had in mind!

Stunning hotel and grounds. Freshly decorated using authentic Scottish theme. Cosy and comfortable room. Delicious restaurant food - both at dinner and breakfast time. Helpful, friendly staff. Clean and tidy room and bathroom. On-site free parking. Great wedding venue. Superb value for money.

The guests staying in the room next to ours left takeaway food and rubbish in the corridor, or to be more specific- right outside our hotel room door, which not only smelled disgusting but stained the carpet. So disrespectful and inconsiderate. I know this is no fault of the hotel, but there is really no excuse for this kind of behaviour when the hotel provides a bin in the room. It was sheer and utter selfishness and laziness. They should have been ashamed. I hope the hotel charged them for the additional cleaning charges that would have been required to rectify the issue. Such a shame that the behaviour of these guests marred our otherwise perfect stay.

Food was very good and value for money. Service could not be faulted in any way all staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

The only negative was the road noise from the motorway. I realise this can't be changed. We were in a room to the rear of the hotel which is closer to the road. There are well fitting windows which do block the noise but in the hot weather when we were there it was far too warm to have them closed. I feel that there should be a fan in each room to alleviate this problem.

The Customer service was excellent with extremely friendly and attentive staff. Checking in and out was really easy and there was a facility to check out online. The Dinner was really nice and served promptly and timings between courses was great. The table staff were friendly and checked to ensure everything was ok, but at the same time did not pester. Breakfast had a good selection and staff kept an eye on it to ensure items were replenished as required. The room was comfortable albeit quite small, however I was a single traveller for one night only so it was perfectly adequate.

I had no complaints about anything.

There was a good choice at breakfast but rhe bacon was undercooked in fact practically raw. Evning meal was very good,the braised beef was delicious and the creme brulee was very good. We didn't have lunch.

We had to change rooms because the first room was like an oven ,the heat was unbearable and the window wouldn't open.There was not any air conditioning either. The second room was very modern but very small it was same again with the window and air conditioning.We were supplied with a fan and were on the far side of the hotel with shadey trees.

We were early arriving but invited to use the lounge/bar until room was ready for us. Very friendly and efficient receptionist who made us aware of local places of interest. All staff were pleasant and helpful at all times and facilities were excellent. Dinner was top class tasty and quickly presented exactly as ordered. Breakfast was all you could ask for and piping hot all round. My wife and I were well nourished for our forward journey and well pleased with our stay at this lovely Hotel ,many thanks!

The breakfast was very nice. Plenty of choice and staff regularly replenishing items. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. Having stayed in other hotels recently, this was more than I was expecting and I was very happy with it. Every single staff member I encountered without exception were friendly, polite and couldn’t have been more helpful.

If I had to say something I didn’t like, it’s that the replenishing on the breakfast was a bit slower one of the mornings. But that really is a stretch and it was worth the wait

We had taken advantage of an offer to upgrade and stayed in the Queensbury & Clayton Suite which was beautiful. A large free standing bath and walk in shower, tea and coffee facilities. A very large bed. The room had a view of the parish church which was lovely. We decided to stay in for dinner and it was really tasty with great service and felt very reasonably priced. All staff were welcoming and made you feel like nothing was a problem even though they were very busy with a number of weddings on
