,Everything the staff are so friendly and accommodating. This is a classy establishment. The food is classic, tasty, and good value for money. The rooms are decorated in a period fitting to the hotel era. There may be some cracks, etc, here and there, but that is expected with the date of the hotel. St. Leonards is peaceful, clean, just what you need for a relaxing, recharging holiday but also easy enough to get to various places of interest. Ideal location for a wedding too. Marie Jordan is an absolute joy and so welcoming, Josh is really lovely on the bar, and Maggie Jordan is amazing. This is our fourth visit in a year, and we will be back again. Brilliant

Absolutely loved everything about this grand old hotel. Certainly the grandeur is a little faded and the hotel is showing its age in places, but that is to be expected in a building approaching its 200th birthday! It only adds to the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, the bed was one of the best we have ever slept in and the full-on sea view from our window was amazing. Breakfast was excellent and staff very efficient. We had afternoon tea one day and the excellent carvery on Sunday, and can highly recommend both.

Dogs staying in the hotel, though thank goodness not permitted in the dining room.

Good location to visit all of Hastings. Quirky grandeur of old. Friendly staff. Sea view rooms are fun. Had the breakfast buffet one day which was nice but there are plenty of other nice cafés to have breakfast after a stroll along the beach front. St Leonards has some nice cafés and restaurants and it's only a short walk or easy bus ride into the rest of Hastings.

Hastings town centre was loud on Saturday night would suit some but not what we were looking for. We ate in St Leonards the previous two nights and that was more relaxed. With regards to the hotel it would have been nice to have a few more tea choices in the room but that's possibly a little picky.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times in the last few years. We very much like its location. We also really like the character of the hotel. There is a faded grandeur about the place, and we find this and even the (in places) slightly tired decor quite appealing for the most part.

In the past, we have enjoyed having an evening meal in the hotel restaurant overlooking the seafront, but this time we felt the food and choice weren’t as good. Also, on one occasion we were charged for the wrong (and slightly more expensive) meal and were told it was not possible to refund us the extra money paid. We were instead just offered the option of having more to drink, but as we had already finished eating and drinking, we didn’t bother. Even so, it didn't seem right to us not to refund money wrongly charged through the hotel’s own mistakes. We are sure RVH can do better than that.

The hotel is beautiful, incredibly clean and the room! I think it was a basic room but it was spacious, clean, well decorated and we loved it. The breakfast was lovely, well presented buffet style and lots of options. We found the bed amazing- so comfortable, and crisp clean bedding is always a huge plus. The hotel itself is pretty amazing, well decorated and lovely plaster mouldings, some lovely art work and chandeliers make it look wonderful. Staff are polite, happy to help and smartly dressed.

The only thing we didn’t like was the lack of parking. Although the staff pointed out a car park that was £7 for 24 hours

We have stayed here many times and as always the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We love this hotel!

This time there was a lapse in cleanliness in the restaurant, many of the table cloths were dirty and had un-swept crumbs as well ( this is most unusual as never has this been the case before). We experienced this at both breakfast times and again on Sunday at lunch time. I did mention this to a member of staff who was most apologetic. I think this will now be resolved and the tables will once again be clean as we have experienced in our past visits. The only other thing that was unsatisfactory was the eton mess dessert on Sunday menu. It was of very poor quality and was not fresh cream and was very cheap and nasty ingredients ( not value for money at all) But these things are easily resolved and it will not put us off staying again,

The hotel was amazing. A Victorian Palace that has lost little of its charm and splendour. The rooms are spacious and tastefully with all the amenities one would expect. The breakfast was superb . Well cooked and presented. But what makes this hotel special is the staff. They are a credit to this establishment. Top class customer service. Overall an excellent stay.

I messed up my booking date and myself and my family arrived a whole week too early for our booking. Ooops. Had very tired children after a trip across France and it was 10.30pm. This hotel pulled out all the stops and despite being almost fully booked they helped us out. Always pleasing to find people in hospitality that genuinely want to help. thank you very much!

it’s an old Victorian style hotel so you get what it says on the tin….it’s beautiful inside with lots to look at and in it’s day would of been absolute top notch but it is a little tired now and in need of a bit of TLC. That said, I’ll take that all day if I get good service and a decent sleep!

The room was lovely and spacious with a separate part for the children’s beds. Bathroom is a good size too. Cannot fault the rooms here. Our room was also very clean. The breakfast was very nice and fresh. I really do love staying at the Victoria. I asked at the time of booking for a room high up and I believe the hotel honoured this request. Thank you.

Not being able to add drinks on my room tab as I’ve done in the past. I think this option must have changed as the Bar Attendant said they only do it for large orders. It’s not a big problem, but is just easier sometimes if I’ve not go my purse etc.

Great hotel - slightly faded, but very comfortable - and we loved the old revolving door and the wood-panelled lift! We also had a vast room, which definitely isn't the norm these days in new-build hotels. Gorgeous music in the piano bar area too - thank you to whoever was playing - and we had a really nice stay. The hotel is right on the seafront and there's a lovely short level walk to the Old Town.

Tiny teacups in the room, but we've stayed here before so brought our own mugs. You should too unless you like drinking out of thimbles!
