The bedroom was delightful! It was olde worlde/antique in style and I loved it. It was also nice and clean and there were plenty of tea/coffee sachets as well as toiletries.

Only 3 little things: Would have been nice to have the Wi-Fi password in the room as forgot to ask when I got my door card, then couldn't be bothered to go down later to ask! I like to have the window open at night but had to find something to hold it up as it wouldn't stay by itself. Used the sink and the plug wouldn't pop back up - wasn't a problem as I'd finished using the sink but wouldn't have been very nice for the cleaners to have to put their hands in used water.

Excellent service - I arrived around midnight, by which time Plan Burrito had closed and so I wasn't sure where to get the key. Fortunately an employee had waited up especially as they were expecting me. Despite being directly on the street, my room was fine and there was almost no noise (though in fairness this may vary as Hitchin can be busy after the pubs close).

There was an email to say that I should check in and collect the key from the restaurant, Plan Burrito, which turned out to be a takeaway fastfood joint. Obviously no problem with that. The only confusing thing was a lack of clarity as to closing and opening times of Plan Burrito. The owner might want to consider including this information.

Great central location perfect for the festival we were attending. Easy check in from the restaurant/takeaway next door. Room was very clean stayed on first floor good pressure on shower.

Decor not to everyone’s taste as old fashioned. Needed a new toilet seat as the one on there was two small although clean. Was unsure how to check out as couldn’t see any instructions.

Location good. Staff extremely helpful. Four-poster bed very impressive, room had lots of space. Massive TV. A great stay.

Tiny gripes really: Though appreciate restricted by age of building, etc, by having to step up into the en suite through a tiny door meant many painful banged heads (no amount of signage will help in the wee hours or if someone's had a few) Found a fair amount of someone else's clipped hair around the basin in the en suite. No screen or curtain around bath when taking shower meant got water all over floor even though tried to minimise.

The room was great, the location was good, the staff was friendly, aside from the check in it was a great place.

We waited almost 45 minutes for someone to show up to check us in, we were there at or estimated arrival time, and tried calling the provided number repeatedly with no answer. In also not sure I would pre-pay for breakfast again for multiple days.

This hotel is the best hotel we have been in Hitchin. Staff is brilliant,so very helpful and friendly.Room is very clean and feels so comfortable. Breakfast, you couldn't ask for more everything spot on So very happy thank you so very much

My first time at Villare Hitchin Town, a wonderful stay there, the most perfect location, my room is everything I could have asked for, I love the whole design, the staff are lovely, so helpful to me, I will definitely book again 😀

I usually stay in the Premier in round the corner but now I've found Bella Vita I will never stay there again. The location is perfect with a free carpark at the back. The room as lovely, with a small kitchen, good sized bathroom and a lovely room. There were some really nice effects in the room including a desk to do my work and a lovely old coal fire. It was quiet so I was disturbed, I will definitely stay again.

There was a slight smell if smoke in the room

Excellent location amongst free parking. Huge room which was clean and nicely decorated in a aged fashion. Comfy bed, nice shower and just very comfortable. Breakfast was unreal, loved it with continental buffet and cooked English too.

You check in actually amongst the restaurant, bit bizarre but It was more awkward if you eating having people shuffling through with bags and paying for thier stay. We also ate their, the menu is still showing Italian meals but thier no longer available and a general random menu is now the going standard - no italian items on menu and this was one reason we chose to stay here. Also we'd hoped to have a meal and spend a few hours in the pubs of Hitchin. Booked in for 8pm, it was about 11pm before we finally finished our meals, service was painfully slow, servers pleasant but clearly stressed.

The place was local to centre. Easy to find and great as guest parking available. Good sized room and bathroom facilities. I was made to feel very welcome and the lady who checked me in was very nice. Polite and courteous.
