Very friendly and helpful staff on Reception. I was attending an event at Huddersfield Town Hall in the evening and was given helpful advice on the bus service (no 503) and local taxi services. I ended up walking back to the hotel from the Town Hall; a 40 minute walk. Room and facilities were all very good. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and staff were helpful and attentive. I liked Da Sandro's Italian restaurant which was on site and was an excellent place to eat before going out. Location is very handy for the M62.

My room must have been located above the kitchen and I was awoken early when the extractor fans were turned on. They were that noisy, I initially thought there was a delivery lorry parked outside with its engine running!

Room was a decent size, bed comfortable, facilities beyond adequate. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful but special mention has to be the cleaners, the room spotless and when they cleaned the room during our stay it was to such a high standard it felt like a brand new hotel room. We had a dog friendly room and you could not tell it was such due to how well it was maintained and cleaned. The restaurant next door was very nice and offered take away to the hotel which was perfect when staying with our dog. Very worth the reasonable price and would definitely stay again if I had cause to be in the area.

No complaints

As always. A very pleasant stay with one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in although I bring my own pillow because the pillows are very firm and I find them uncomfortable. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Their full English Breakfast is hearty and hot and well made. They have lots of additional choices including pastries, cereals and juices and their coffee is exceptional.

My only gripe is they have scaled back on the little packets of biscuits and milk cartons given on the tea tray. We had one pack of bikkies and two little cartons of milk. We had travelled from London and spent over 5 hours travelling and didn’t arrive until 10 at night. We were ready for tea and biscuits but didn’t bother because that meant then having to go ask for ‘extra’ milk because we all know you red at least 5 cartons of milk to make the perfect cuppa. I know I could have gone and asked at the reception desk but I was too tired.

We didn't have breakfast as we had quite an early start to get the coach home again. We found the whole place very friendly, and had dinner in the restaurant before we went to the John Smith Stadium, and we enjoyed it very much. It was really popular, but we got served very quickly, and the food was lovely. We were made very welcome in the bar when we got back too. We ended up staying there a bit longer than we should have done really, but we had a great time You could tell the hotel had been renovated quite recently, and it was very clean.

Nothing could have been better. Everyone was really friendly and helpful, and we were made to feel very welcome.

Receptionist on arrival was very helpful and very pleasant the Room very clean and as described. The bed was comfortable and shower very powerful. As it was the weekend Breakfast was between 8.30 and 10.30 we went for breakfast at 9.30 and very busy with only 2 waitresses who was working extremely hard but very much needed additional help to keep on top of the service as people were having to wait a while. That said the food was extremely good and very well presented as help yourself. The chef definitely took pride in presentation and my husband who is a meat eater said definitely best cooked breakfast he has had in hotel which we have been to many, however as a vegetarian and a woman who also likes a cooked English breakfast I would like to recommend more vegetarian options no alternatives to meat being offered, otherwise all really good.

Spotlessly clean, comfy bed. Staff friendly and obliging, both front of house and at breakfast (excellent full English) - Ellie went the extra mile to the restaurant to fetch coffee when the machine wasn't working. First class food from Da Sandro's restaurant, brought over quickly and cheerfully. Polite, friendly staff, service with a smile. Definitely will stay here again. Location excellent for motorway links and good parking, but still got a great night's sleep.

Weekday breakfast could run a little later (maybe 9.30, currently ends at 9.00), but really this hotel is a little gem. A thoroughly professional hotel, very comfortable, no fuss.

Staff amazing, very helpful and friendly. I phoned and explained to Ashley I needed to check in quickly so when I arrived she kindly had our keys and everything ready for us....I felt very honoured that someone would go that extra mile to be so kind and helpful.

Hotel looked lovely and very welcoming, it had a feeling of a quality. Our room was spotless, bed & bedding was very comfortable. All amenities were in good order, bathroom stunning and bright. Very spacious room too. TV fabulous. View from our room was into the garden area. Check out easy. Very very impressed. Thank you will be back.

lovely staff all round. They couldn't do enough for us. Room service with a smile. Full English in the morning with lovely friendly staff on hand.

Breakfast slightly spoilt by sight of bare legged, bare footed woman who came in dressed only in a bath robe. This was at 10am. Then proceeded to nab some toast from someone and then hold fort, still in nothing but a bathrobe, in the reception area. Still there when we checked out. We think she was the bride from the day before but even so.......Should the manager have said something? I wanted to but my partner asked me not to.

We really enjoyed our stay - the room was nice and we requested a room with bath which they accomodated. Very nice, helpful staff, always happy to help. The room itself had everything we needed - kettle, tea, coffee, hairdryer, towels, shampoo etc. The bed was comfortable, a bit too soft perhaps but the duvet was huge and (unlike in many places) there was sufficient number of pillows :). The bathroom was nice but low pressure in the shower made it quite difficult to rinse. Both room and bathroom, although clean, were a bit dated and could do with the refreshing - but definitely ok for the price we paid. The only downside was that the hotel is out of town and if you don't have a car you either have to get a taxi or get there by bus (bus stop outside the hotel). Overall, we would reccommend this place and would stay there again.

Quite far away from the centre of Huddersfield but 15min by bus (with a bus stop outside) or by car/taxi . Low pressure in the shower. There was a quite bright green light on the ceiling that was on all night and made it difficult to fall asleep (I suspect it was the fire/smoke alarm and I understand that probably it needs to be there for safety reasons but maybe there is some other solution).

we liked the ease of finding the hotel from the motorway. we loved the staff, the clean room important to me. parking was free. breakfast was excellent and lovely that staff came and took your order. just a small thing - no aircon in the room but I know it’s expensive and there was a fan. glad our room was cool and out of the sun. thank you for a lovely stop over 👍

nothing really, maybe that we were road side so it was slightly noisy but it did quieten down late evening.
