Food and artisan beers in pub downstairs were excellent. Staff were friendly and very helpful

Would have welcomed a tv in the room but that wasn't a big deal. The breakfast is served in a cafe across the square. On the first day this was excellent and so good we called in later for a cake and cup of tea. Second day the meagre breakfast was poor. One of the cooked breakfasts was cold and the other just warm while sausages were charred. We told the owner who insisted on bringing one freshly cooked piece of bacon - that was it! Disappointing

Quaint , historical property with period furniture and beams in an excellent location on main square. Enjoyed the fact it didn’t have a TV- made a refreshing change!

No hairdryer in the room- not crucial- but may have been for others. Shower tray overflowed due to slow drainage- expect this in an old property though - we mentioned this to staff the next day- wouldn’t stop us staying again- minor issues. Quite noisy until midnight because of Kings Arm customers - again not an issue for us as we were up that late too.

The location was perfect on the beautiful Cartmel square , The breakfast is served in the coffee shop across the square which isn't a problem, Lovely choice of breakfasts, Lot's of coffee shops all worth a visit, and beautiful artisan shops, cheese shop , bakery, and brewery, a very picturesque village with a stream running through it. We stayed in the double room Beck, lovely and clean, comfy bed , lovely spacious on suite. We arrived on a Friday and booked a table at the pub for our evening meal. A live band playing was an added bonus. We would defiantly stay there again

Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Bed was massive, and bathroom super clean, well-appointed and warm. Location ideal. Great vibe in the pub below. Breakfast in the place opposite was quick, tasty and friendly and actually rather nice as a change of scene as benefits from the morning sun.

Almost nothing, it was great. You can hear everything going on in the pub from the bedrooms but we weren’t kept up by it. Might benefit from a little sound-proofing but didn’t bother us.

The breakfast was amazing although it being off site, absolutely great location. There was live music on in the evening which was a perfect end to the evening. The bed was really comfortable and the shower had good power. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

The bathroom door didn't close, and sorry guys but our toilet wasn't clean. People have commented at the lack of clothes storage which is true but we were only there for a night so it wasn't a problem for us. Also, other comments about having no TV in the room, again no problem as there were far more interesting things to do than watch the box.

Very good location, spotless room, good shower, comfortable bed and friendly staff. The breakfast was really good with welcoming staff.

There was live music on in the pub so it was expected to be loud in the room. This was acceptable as it was early on in the evening and had it not been for a long tiring journey, we would have been out of the room at that time. I believe the pub closed at 9 pm on that Sunday but the music system in the pub (after the live music had finished) carried on at a very loud volume for a short while after.

Such a lovely pub, great staff, great selection of ales and ciders. The food is fantastic! The breakfast is served in a cafe across the square - Coffee and stays, which is also amazing, wonderful breakfasts served by lovely, friendly staff. The pub is in a great location with nice modern rooms, can’t fault it.

Very warm welcome, the staff are superb. Our room was comfortable, characterful and spotless. Excellent local beers on tap from the Fell brewery, the Ghyll golden ale is perfect after a day's walking. The atmosphere in the pub was so cosy in the evening, just what we had hoped for. I wish we'd stayed longer and we'll look forward to coming back.

Nothing, personally. No TV may not please everyone but we fell asleep as soon as we hit the pillow, anyway. I generally prefer a very firm bed, this felt more medium-firm, but I slept very well regardless.

Traditional pub rooms with an odd mixture of quirky furniture but it works. Large shower with plentiful hot water and comfortable bed. The staff were VERY helpful.

Only downside was breakfast at a different location, I understand why as they only have a small number of rooms and it wouldn’t be practical to bring in a chef for a few people. Breakfast was a 6 out of 10, hard overcooked sausage and undercooked white on fried egg.

Staff and location, absolutely fabulous. I didn't eat but the smell of the food was amazing. Local beer which the other pubs didn't have. I would have happily had food the menu looked incredible if we weren't already booked elsewhere. Spotless cosy room. I can't fault this place, I would happily return and recommend to anyone!!

Nothing, can't complain about a thing
